Amazing, just when I saw a vid for defense from X yesterday, this video popped up on my recommendations. Very helpful

Truly a great influencer; he took my Son to a new level in three days with pearls of wisdom like this. We will travel to see him Again.

Good video. It is amazing how many players struggle with this simple technique(s).

I mean, it's hard because you have to be better at simple techniques, to match better players.

Aviation101 No doubt. I just think the majority of coaches don't focus on these simple details.

For close defenders, are you supposed to put your stick in lefty position if you're trying to force the player to go left? Or do you always just keep it in righty position?

We teach being comfortable... ussually that means keeping it in your strong hand. With that being said, if you keep it in your strong hand it is imperative that your body positioning is correct to force the correct angle.

@@lacrosseforce9999 Love your response: comfort within a gameday context. I absolutely believe if you can defend to your strong and weak side AND support by transitioning your pole..you can shut your assignment down all day. Young poles should practice to achieve this level of mastery.

@@lacrosseforce9999 this is the first time I have heard anyone suggesting defence switch between right and left hand. When I coached back in the 80’s coached being able to check both ways. Special when on the crease. when your man crossed the crease area by changes hands you are able to cover more area with less steps.
