When Freddie gets up from the piano the second time, you can see him looking behind him as he makes his way across the stage. Brian May has had some sort of problem with his guitar and Freddie and the others fill in the time until Brian comes back, gives Freddie a nod and they carry on with the song. Absolutely seamless.
Thank God Queen insisted on recording every single live performance on film, watching this and realizing what technology was like in 1981 makes it all even more impressive. No auto tune, no ear pieces, just 4 incredibly talented men who knew how to entertain every single person in the audience. 👑 never disappoints.
Absolutely! 🤘
Freddie doesn’t take himself so seriously. He just wants everyone to have fun
For sure! 🤘🤘🤘
It's hard to take your eyes off Freddie but in this rendition. Roger shines as an incredible drummer and singer. Brian and John are great too. In these 80's videos, John looks so young like a high school kid who won a contest to play with a rock band.
The PERFECT performance .. Yes indeed! They just announced the IMAX release of Queen: Rock Montreal for January 18th 2024 in all IMAX theaters everywhere! Just bought my tickets, taking my granddaughter!! Yahoo!! 🎉🎉
I’m sure she’ll love it! 🤘
there's my Girl! I didn't hear about the IMAX release! I will totally go to that ASAP.. I'm sure I can get a couple of my sisters to go with me! Love you!
God, I wanna go!
I wanna go!!!!
@@blackcatmom2996 Yep.. "okay, let's do it!"...
my favorite live performance video! I think I have seen this at least 100 times if not more....
"Somebody To Love" was Freddie's favorite Queen song and he felt it was one of the best songs he ever wrote. He was more proud of it than "Bohemian Rhapsody".
Check out Freddie singing with Montserrat Caballe ❤
Agree, absolutely bloody brilliant ❤
Shout out to Roger Taylor's drumming and vocals... Brilliant, never misses a beat ❤
love Roger, his CD Happiness? is my favorite CD at present time.
This is my favorite concert performance…I just purchased tickets today to see this whole concert in January at the IMAX…so excited 🤩
Thanks for reacting to this gem 🥰
So did I .. Topanga IMAX in Southern California! ☀️
Thanks for your great reaction David! Please check out Dragon Attack and Save me from the same concert or Somebody to Love from Live at Milton Keynes 1982. Another option is to react to the whole concert😉 Take care and Keep rocking with Queen🤘
Amen ✌🏼
I sure will, thanks!
"...for the those of you who aren't super familiar with Queen..."
I find most people are a LOT more familiar with Queen than they know. 14 years ago, I 'discovered' Queen and Freddie Mercury. Not a day has gone by in 14 years that I haven't listened to them. Thank GOD for TH-cam, as I've heard every single song written by all 4 members so there's nothing new for me anymore... except the reaction videos. Now instead of experiencing Queen for the first time, I can witness somebody else's first experience. Especially this song, in Montreal. I wish I had gotten to see FM live, or even just alive.
Es una de las mejores actuaciones del rock de todos los tiempos...
Doesn’t get any better than this… except Live in Milton Keynes 😂✌🏼 Great reaction 😊💛
Thanks!
Yes, I agree. Love the milton Keynes performance
FREDI ČAROBNO PEVAO, PODSEĆA ME NA ELVISA, ENERGIČAN, ČAROBNO. VOLIM QUEEN SUPER SU. ❤❤❤❤❤😢❤❤❤

Thanks, Face! Widely known as one their best live performances.. but not just this one.. this entire concert... this really shows how Queen is not just "Freddie & some other guys.. " this was an entirely cohesive GROUP... hope you listen & react to more... appreciate your reactions... (p.s. "Save Me" from this concert is astonishing..)
Thanks, and I will! 🤘🤘🤘

@@janetschulman8998 Wow nice to meet you officially Janet!! My granddaughter is 6 yrs old (the oldest of the five grandkids)! She’s a true Queenie, every day her favorite song changes! 🤣 Right now? It’s A Kind Of Magic 🪄✨✨
From the Hammersmith, Odeon concert, you must react to White Queen (as it began), it is a jaw dropping performance by Freddie and the entire band. I love this performance of STL, Freddie gust takes it to a whole different level and Roger hangs right in there with him. Thank you.
Thank you! 🤘🤘🤘
This was Freddie’s gospel song with Aretha Franklin in mind he loved Aretha
Now Save me and Rogers I'm in love with my car... Same Montreal gig.
Please check out Dragon Attack same concert live Montreal 1981 😊 thanks for your reaction 😊
You're welcome...and I will, thanks for the recommendation!
Millionaire waltz. A fun song and well composed
Check out Save Me, same concert. Brian on piano with guitar on his lap!
Save Me and Dragon Attack from this same concert are fabulous, also.
Great reaction to Queen’s best live performance apart from Live Aid! If you haven’t already pls react to their live performance from Live Aid, 21 mins widely regarded as the best live performance ever, you won’t be disappointed! Greetings from Oz! 🇦🇺
Thanks, and thanks for the recommendation, will do! Greetings from Virginia! 🤘🤘🤘
Its always fun to see someone react to the music I grew up with! I'd like to request that you take a listen to the man Brian May credits as having given him his guitar voice-the legendary Rory Gallagher. Rory was a talented multi-instrumentalist best known for his fiery guitar work, both electric and acoustic. He played straight blues, country blues, rock and a bit of many other things. Take a listen to "Do You Read Me?" from the 1979 Rock Goes to College performance for a sample of his talent. Prefer a more laid back, bluesy style? The check out "Calling Card" from 1977 Hammersmith Odeon. There's a plethora of wonderful live videos of Rory on YT to view and it would be wonderful for you to introduce his music to the younger generations. Thank you!
Thanks for the info and recommendations! 🤘🤘🤘
Thank you so much, this is such a great performance and a great reaction.. Best from 67 years young Queen fan.
Thanks, and 53 here! 🤘🤘🤘
@@facethemusic1970 yeah, you got to see Rogers solo, it's in a short 2 song medley starting with a quick Killer Queen that rolls into I'm in love with my car... Cheers.
@Face_The_Music Freddie's genre-homage to Aretha Franklin (an artist he admired and truly wanted to collab with)! His favorite song and so good to know there are many songs/performances you haven't seen ;-) I think I earned both a Queen and a Brian May certification during lockdown, lol, although I was a teen in the 70s. Take care, and again, thank you!!!
Thank you! 🤘🤘🤘
This is one of the greatest live performances ever. Pls, check out Dragon Attack from the same concert.
This was originally filmed for movie theaters it never made it but it will this month the weekend of the 16th it'll be shown in IMAX just for that weekend already got my ticket good to go
I think the pretend punching thing... Pretty sure it was just the camera angle. Freddie was a classically trained boxer in his youth. He does tease & play with Brian during the show, but in this case I think it was just the camera angle.
speaking of camera angles... if you're watch again when FM gets the audience to sing & dance along, the film production crew tried to eliminate as much of the crowd as they could so people could hear the song better. The band were LIVID about this because audience participation was an expected aspect and the band encouraged it. The crowd was one of Freddie's instruments. But in case you were wondering why the crowd didn't participate, they did in fact participate. That's why.
Ok, this one gets all the hype but Milton Keynes ‘82 is my favourite version.
Sorry for the cliche, but that’s how it’s done!
Have you done white queen at hammersmith
Not reacted to yet.
How about react to somebody to love cover by putri ariani.she got golden buzzer on agt 2023
have you watched Queen with Adam Lambert. Adams voice is better than freddies technically, according to Brian. He is fabulous.
Sorry, not a fan of Adam. There’s too much history and frontman charisma with Freddie to rate Adam higher.
