Thanks, Troy. Good reminder that I need to get my two snorkels out for some exercise. I have never owned a desk-set pen, but something like yours would be good. I hope it would not dry out, though. I should have checked them out at the Triangle show.
A really nice one :) I've just got a vintage desk pen, italian Minerva 64, piston filler, writes like a dream. Gotta love these desk pens, very elegant and sofisticated looking
That was one of the reasons I decided to do the video. I had never really seen it done before I owned my first one, so I wanted to make sure to demonstrate that for others. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I could probably manage to fix the Snorkel myself, but I was not willing to spend the time to tinker and did not want to potentially damage it, so I have sent off two of them for repairs thus far.
Jeffery Spencer I do recommend getting in touch with Greg at antiquedigger.com. He has done work on several of my pens and I have purchased from him a lot. He won’t disappoint you.
Love the base (8-ball) fit all pens✒️👍❤️🆗 two handed fill , wash your hands or wear rubber gloves!if you use fountain pens a lot cam purchase one liter bottles in 8 different colors from Pelican inks for less than $100 USDOLLARS! That half the price of any others per once! I get mine from JohnNeil booksellers!
I bought this one on ebay, as I recall, and it needed servicing because it came with a broken feed. Since it is a vintage pen, it is not something normally carried in modern pen distributor stores. However, I know that you can find some Snorkels (in general, not necessarily a desk set) at antiquedigger.com/discount/TROY
Found my great grandfather’s pen, had it restored instead of trashed and I finally figured out how to make it work with your help. Thank you!!

Cool! I’ve never seen a snorkel pen filled before.

Nice video. I'd seen snorkels in ads on ebay but I'd never seen one filled before. It looks like they'd be a challenge to restore.

Thanks for another great video! I now know what one of my inherited, vintage Sheaffers is and why its not working - snorkel issues. Best wishes!

@@fountainpenfanatic Thanks Troy!
I think most Sheaffer snorkel desk pens screw into the base cone for security and to prevent drying out.
I never knew about snorkels! Kinda like an ink mosquito!!! Or maybe a butterfly.
You're probably right! Nice call!
