  • This is a short tutorial I made of turning ordinary cotton pad into a waterproof fire starter, great addition for a survival kit, outdoor camping, fire bit or a home BBQ.

Great job, I really liked all the different colors. A little trick I learned from Coalcracker Bushcraft that you may want to experiment with is to add about 1/2 oz of lighter fluid to 2 oz of wax. This makes them light a lot quicker. You can light very easy with a ferro rod or even the spark from a bic lighter if close enough.

I store a lot of my fire starters by putting them back in the bags from the cotton pads.

.... Nice job ... I coat pad with Vaseline , then dip in melted wax ... to light fold in half to break wax seal and leave in folded "A" shape ,, light middle of pad .. I have used these in sub zero temps at altitude with great results ... Waterproof and simple to use ...

Turn on CC Closed Caption. The CC button reads Subtitles/closed captions unavailable. For those of us with hearing difficulties, CC is a major help understanding what you are saying. Also, you have an accent many folks may find a challenge. Thank you.

Hi @ricdonato4328 thank you so much for bringing this to my attention I was not aware that CC option was inactive, I went ahead and edited the video setting and it should be working now.
Regarding my accent not sure what is the challenge as the words are pronounced clear enough, interestingly from the many comments this is the first time anyone brought up, sorry this is something I can not edit, hope you enjoy the video ;-).
