You are really the best, its feels good to see a reaction of people paying attention and figuring things out as it comes. Togame is one of my favorite characters from the first arc, and if you go back and watch the last few episodes you can see just how much he hates doing this. He didn't know why Furin was there on their turf, he only saw one of his guys on the ground so he thought they attacked first, he told Choji which is why Choji went to challenge Umemiya in the first place. Then throughout these fights, Togame had a look one his face that without context looks likes he's pissed they keep losing but in reality was stressed that he had to keep playing the bad guy and "skin" his own friends because that's what Choji wanted. He's not a bad guy, he just made a bad decision by letting Choji have his way. He just wants to see his friend smile genuinely again. He's a really great character.
I do wonder now if the comment that Togame is 'especially territorial' may have meant he always fought off rival teams himself so no one on his side would risk taking a loss and getting 'skinned'

Just now realizing this is animated by CloverWorks. No wonder it's amazing. Ever since they were forced to wrap up Promised Neverland in a short second season when they outspokenly wanted to do multiple more seasons for it, everything they've put out since has felt like a love letter to the source material and the fans as well as an apology for something that was out of their hands. My Dress-Up Darling, Bocchi the Rock, Horimiya, this and several others with some collaborative works like Spy x Family. They're killing it and I'm completely here for it!
Cool detail about Choji’s and Togame’s backstory is that when they first met, Choji’s eyes were full of life, but as soon as his morals shifted. All the life in his eyes were gone
Knew from the first moment we saw Jo he’d be my favorite. I think the flashback adds a layer of depth to him that really makes him amazing. I really hope he ends up joining Furin or something cool like that!
Togame Jo's fighting style is very realistic.. like a football player, he uses his size and goes straight to tackling his opponent to drop him to the ground.. no wonder he is very powerful, not to mention he is decent in hand to hand combat.
fun fact : togame is not grown as man, he is 17 same as choji :D only a year older than sakura and the rest of the 1st years. umemiya and the rest of the kings are 3rd grade. so far none of the cast is older than 18 beside the citicens who live in the city

He would’ve won right then and there if Sakura didn’t tell him about the ‘’middle school bully’’ incident being instigated by the two other former members of Shishatoren. Then, somehow, one way or another Umemiya ends up losing. I think Choji said if he won he wanted Umemiya to come to their side or something like that? I could see him losing and having to leave everyone, then the next big focus of the show is trying to get him back maybe. Or, alternatively, maybe we just no diff the entire lineup and they end up joining us against some bigger threat at a later point in the series.
