    Oh Sarah, great finishes and progress- The backstitch just makes the nativity. It has been so fun to see you progress through it and through your #funfor502024sal! And Charlotte 💗oh my heart! So precious!
    Thank you again for your kind words. I'm so thankful technology has made the world a little smaller and easier to engage : ) Always enjoy your videos and look forward to each one. Thank you for creating and sharing! Happy stitching!

      Thank you Amy! I love how the nativity has just come alive with the backstitch. Proof that sometimes it’s worth the effort. I love that technology means I have met so many lovely stitchers I never would have met otherwise. Hope you’re going to have some lovely stitches this weekend.

    Loved Charlotte’s visit with us. The advent calendar is really looking fabulous. You will have it finished by Christmas.
    Here is a little ditty I would sing to my children at school: Yellow yellow daffodils, dancing in the sun, yellow yellow daffodils tell us spring has come. Daffodils are Nancy’s favorite flower.

    • @sewmesarah
      @sewmesarah  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What a cute little song! Daffodils just make me smile. I love the earliest spring flowers here. The daffodils, the snowdrops and the crocuses. It’s a little too early for garden tulips but I do love to buy them in a bunch. They just brighten the place up.

    What a difference the backstitching makes on the manger scene! Looks great. Many kudos as that backstitching can .be tedious work. There are warm blues and greens as well as cool. Sheri of Colorado Cross Stitcher did a very informative Floss Tube episode - the most recent one. I will also fall behind on Gilmoreisms. It is so special to find a happy stitch.

      @sewmesarah  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I saw Sherri’s great video. She does so many great informative posts, doesn’t she? I don’t seek backstich out, but I don’t dread it either and a piece like this proves that it definitely has its place in our stitching repertoire. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment Diane.

    Great to see you tonight Sarah & wonderful to see Charlotte fully recovered & in such good spirits.
    I love how the back stitching has brought the nativity to life.
    Positivity Lifts looks great framed.
    I'm almost finished my secret stitch for my niece, my friend is going to help me turn it into a cushion, then it'll be back to my MFE pieces. Though that Stitchrovia piece might be calling my name as well as Carmen's Jacob SAL.
    Fortunately the evenings are getting brighter so I can stitch longer in daylight.

    Take care, best wishes from 🇮🇪

    Your finishes are beautiful! The string stitches look amazing on the board you finished it on. I like the idea of using magnets to change out for the seasons. I've done bell pulls for my seasons. They're quite a bit larger than yours lol. So far I've done Stoney Creek's Winter banner and a lovely pansy bell pull on black aida that I have up during the spring/summer months. I need to find an autumn one that I like to fill in that time period each year. I love your 50 starts for 50th birthday so far. I look forward to seeing more of your choices! Take care!

    • @sewmesarah

      Bell pulls are a lovely idea for long stitches. I have a folk flowers piece by Satsuma Street that would look great finished that way, if I ever stitch it. I hope you find a suitable autumn one to round out your collection.

    Your Nativity is really coming to life. Miss Charlotte is always a special addition to your Flosstube, she simply spreads such joy and really likes stealing her Dad's scones. In the states we don't do half-terms, the kids get breaks for Christmas until after New Year and Spring break is that the same as half-term?

    • @RosClarkeCraft
      @RosClarkeCraft 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hi Sarah! So sorry I have been missing in action. I got behind with all the WIP parades and Flossmas floss tubes, and am just now hopefully getting caught up. I really like your String finishes, so cute. The wood piece you found for them is perfect. I love the way you are telling us what subscriber provided prompts each project meets. Your newest Valentine small stitch is so cute. Wow, all that backstitching on the manger scene is phenomenal, what a necessary stitch for this piece. I so adore this piece and it never becomes old. Looks like you will have a finish yet this year. Is Charlotte excited about the advent calendar? Your 50 bag from Roz is stunning. Wow, your color piece has really progressed this time. I was also not impressed with my Art teaching in school and it was one of my most dreaded classes. Sherry goes into quite a bit of detail on cool and warm colors, color theory, etc. on her latest floss tube which I found very interesting. I love your red piece by Lila Studio's, so very cute and I am loving the different shades of red together. Walter and I have been passing the mucus crud back and forth between us since Christmas, just get feeling better and he comes back down with it. Mine is sitting at the back of my throat currently again. Walter has turned 3 almost a month ago and we are working on toilet training. I remember this phase with my daughter all too well and will be glad when it is over. I bought him a 24-piece puzzle for part of his Christmas gift and he solved it the very first time on his own with only 3 little hints and now puts it together in less than 5 minutes consistently and told me that I need to buy him a bigger, harder puzzle. That child is too danged smart for his own good. It is probably a good thing that he is going to be homeschooled since I have a feeling he would get bored in traditional school. It was lovely to see Charlotte today. Take care and happy crafting. Dawn in Texas

    • @sewmesarah
      @sewmesarah  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Dawn. I swear young children are just germ factories. It’s just cycle after cycle of mucus and snot. Charlotte is the same. Thankfully, the latest versions have been easier to handle and not made her so ill. It will be good when we get a little more outdoor weather to shake off the viruses. I hope you and Walter can shake it soon too. He sure sounds like a bright spark, which is great for him, but hard work for everyone else keeping him challenged. We don’t have much homeschooling here. It’s very rare and so we don’t have the kinds of support and set up for it that there seems to be in the US. I wouldn’t have the first clue how to go about it and honestly, don’t think I’m cut out to spend every day, all day with Miss C. She needs more than me too. Anyway, whoever is homeschooling Walter best be on their toes, it sure sounds like he’s going to keep them there 😉

    Hi Charlotte, it was lovely seeing you again!
    That's a lovely way to finish the Lizzie Kate Strings! What do you mean by washers? I looked it up it means closing ring? But how do you use them? 🤔 Have a great stitching week! 🌷

      Hi Joanita! Yes, the washers are a hardware item. You use them with nuts and bolts etc. For finishing cross stitch so that the pieces can be interchangeable you put magnets on your mount piece and then you glue washers to your stitched piece meaning you can magnetise the stitched piece to you board but it’s not permanent and can be swapped out for another piece. Priscilla at Stitching with the Housewives was the first person I saw to do it. It means you only need to buy one frame piece per set of stitching. You just have to be sure that your washers will attract to your magnet. I think they need to be zinc coated washers. Hope so, because that’s what I ordered😉. I can show it again on my channel when I have it done.

      @@sewmesarah Ah, I get it! That way you don't have to use the double amount of magnets, right? That's very clever!
      I would love to see it when you have it done.

    That Be Mine piece turned out so delicate, so elegant, so cute ... lovely!!!
    I did not not that we can tag on ig for any start, I will do it on my next start.
    But you are doing quite impressive for such an ambitious goal, I must admit, when I first heard 50 starts I felt intimidated. :)
    ps. Please do not share the list of the 40 remaining starts, because it is a bit like a stitching series, we are waiting for the next episode.
    Happy stitching!

    Every time you show your nativity piece, it makes me think of my very favourite nativity, He Came Down, which also makes me think of Charlotte: th-cam.com/video/bAhzI6bI5WI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JZhAEPQXrrEkhmGp

      I’m so happy with the board, so I hope you like it too. It’s nice that you won’t have to paint it either.
