The cool thing about the Music Video when it first came out the band worked with a team to set it up so that you could personalize the music video. Basically it allowed you to upload pictures into the music video so that pictures they were holding could be pictures of you or of your friends/family.
If i recall that wasn't on youtube right? The "personal" version of the MV? The only thing i remember when watching it the first time is laughing because they cried at pictures of my pets...
This is a different era of Linkin Park, it caught me kinda off guard when I first heard it. Took me a minute to realize it was an actual Linkin Park album, I thought someone had changed the names of the files for an album from a different band. Some of the songs are really good when you have gotten a chance to digest them properly, The Catalyst is probably my favorite for how well it builds throughout the whole song.
The Catalyst is from the record A Thousand Suns. Lost in the Echo is from Living Things. A Thousand Suns was by far more out of left field and bizare than any record they ever made, besides their final record One More Light.
@@lonerunner89 that's what I was thinking... was thrown a bit there myself, I was like... "the catalyst was part of their concept album, pretty sure it was called 'thousand suns'. 'Lost in the echo' is like the 1st song off of 'living things'".
You really should react to Leave Out All The Rest by Linkin Park it's not very heavy and give you a good chance to listen to the lyrics. Keep up on all the reactions you do!
I cant believe how many people dont understand this video even though every single key to it is put straight out right on the screen. The people on the photos were dead, they were "summoned" to live by their loved ones, then their loved ones sacrifice themselves to bring their loved ones fully back to life by giving their lives in exchange, thats why the ones who were originally dead disappear from the photos (becoming alive) and the ones who were alive become dust and appear on the pictures instead. Very very powerful video
Ellierose my interpretation of the clip is the following: The people in the building are ghosts who can't pass on and the guy with the suitcase gives them pictures of either lost ones who's memory they cling to, or the ones they left behind by dying. As the song says it is about letting go, so the ghosts can finally let go and so pass on. This is just my view. I love this song as it fits funerals where you at times just want to scream at the injustice of having lost the one that died. 'Castle of Glass' is another funeral song, but that one is more about remembering who they were and this one is about the anger at the fact that they died and letting them go.
I think the idea was that the people who originally took the pictures were the actual dead people, and were trying to deal with leaving their loved ones behind before moving on. I think that originally, you're suppose to think what you thought, that the people in the pictures initially were the dead ones, but the twist comes when the people holding them fall apart, and they're the people in the photographs.
It's the frustration of incompleteness of losing a loved one and those that wished they hoped to take their place. The man in the briefcase, the traveller, grants that wish.
you saying linkin park with screaming isn’t their normal vibe is HILAROUS, chester is known so much for his screams, and it’s also cuz his screams aren’t that “screamo” style, it’s definitely more metal based, she needs to listen to a lot of Hyrbid Theory and Meteora, and from other albums, songs like No More Sorrow, I still say Wretches And Kings would be a great one
The video is about the people that have had "someone" die that is close to them...and them coming to terms with it. The people that are alive learn to accept life as it is and realise their "someone" is still there in the ECHOES of their memories.
When this video released it was interactive - you could link your facebook and all the polaroid pictures would be of your friends & family. Was an interesting concept to connect you to the video
Iridescent is one of the songs I listened to a lot when I was going through a lot of depression back when it first came out, and it still to this day helps me a lot.
Fun fact about this video. You could send pictures you wanted of yourself or someone else to make a kind of customised video in where your pictures would appear instead of the ones displayed. I never got to do it though but it was so interesting because you could interact with the video and that's not usual
yeah I laughed out loud when she said the screaming wasn’t their vibe, like chester is known very well for his screams, did she not ever react to Given Up? plus I think like her two favorites she heard from them are One More Light and Heavy, not shitting on those songs, but does show she really doesn’t know what linkin park are capable of, she’d probably love the One More Light album and no others, cuz she doesn’t even know that rap really is a mainstay in their stuff
This is one of the songs that’s closer to their 90s to late 2000s sound. They began trying to modernize their music in the era of dubstep with the beats so a thousand suns and living things have those modernized sounds. 2014 hunting party was another album that was pretty close to that original sound though.
@@PenneySounds Uh never said it was new to them but, "Linkin Park" was started as "nu-metal" that was the genre they were given. Then they proceeded to delve more into heavy electronic and the like as the years went on. Also just in case, I wasn't saying that they never used electronic sounds ever in LP I was saying that this degree of very heavy electronics and much less drums, rap, screaming, and guitar was different. Mike Shinoda even said in a video that they take 18 months to make an album so they either predict the trend or come up after the trend and the trend at the time was dubstep which they came up after it had started with their heavier electronics.
You react to songs that is like 90% sure you won't love. You should listen to songs like Castle of Glass, I'll Be Gone, Leave out All the Rest,Waiting for the End, In Pieces...
Sometimes with linkin park you can’t just watch the video you must listen to the lyrics and try to understand what they stand for but you can always just google the meaning of there songs they are always an emotional aspect to there music and for that reason it will touch your heart if you have had some what of a painful life there music can help you it’s like the light in the darkness of life there songs are beautiful if you can understand them
I honestly respect Linkin Park for not sticking to the nu metal stuff. Some of my fave songs of theirs are from their mid and later albums. I like this song though just like you, its not my favourite either
Sure. They aren't a band that includes screaming. Just don't listen to One Step Closer, Faint, Given Up, the Reanimation version of With You, Waiting for the End, From the Inside... And I could keep going for about two or three times as long as I have, naming song after song after song that proves you wrong. From albums older and newer.
It would be interesting for you to react to "Lying From You" from them, or "Session" (instrumental) from them too, but judging from your comments I think a safer bet which you will like "Leave Out All The Rest" which hits differently after you know Chester's fate I would also like to recommend "Diary of Jane" from Breaking Benjamin I'd be interested to know if its within your taste
You should really listen to Final Masquerade by Linkin Park. The song is great and you might change your mind on you favorite song after listening to it.
Please check out "Iridescent" not the movie version that has transformers you won't like that one just a lyrics video version of it or even the live version is best
Could you please react to the song called Cry to Yourself by DJ Lethal feat. Chester Bennington? It can be found on the TH-cam channel called Linkin Park Live Archive 😎😁🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Please and thank you.
If you don't like the screaming, then just stop reacting to Linkin Park before someone suggests a really scream heavy song and it turns you away from them, this was one of Chester's mild scream songs, I doubt you'll be able to handle QWERTY, From The Inside, Given Up, A Place for my Head, or No More Sorrow

actually the best version of the song

Linkin park x BMTH both band jump from genre to genre and still do good if not great
Agreed
The music video is about people not being able to move past loss, and crumbling away rather than let go
The goosebumps were for the emotion coming through the song
