Mr. Vince Giordano => A SUPER BAND! What an Energy! Chapeau for the cornet player Mr. Peter Ecklund. Nice to see- and to hear such a young Frank Vignola.
I just love the bands that bring to life the authentic sounds that I've listened to for the last six decades. This is pure Morton. Great stuff. Long may you continue.
As with the music of the Quintet du Hot Club de France, sometimes seeing people play the heck out of a 20s or 30s jazz style live will give you an appreciation that no recording can. At least that was true for me, and the recordings then started revealing more of their secrets. Giordano's band is a minor miracle, both for it's passion and faithfulness to the idiom, and for it's existence over many years.
This was obviousy some socity.charity event for the upper class. lol. Come to Sofia's in NYC any Monday night when Vince and the boys are playing and see some great dancing. We are there every Monday cause there is no band like Vince's anywhere and no better music.
The event was to honor the great Turk Murphy. Jazz fans from everywhere attended. Giordano's band played, and so did Jim Cullum's band from San Antonio.

Pure Joy - such zest - this is MUSIC!
Amazing! Featuring a very young Frank Vignola, here on banjo. Insight into the formation of this brilliant jazz guitarist!

Its's like I hear good old Ferdinand playin'.
Unbelievable! And what an appropriate name for a jazzband (see Ilfofilms playlist).
