I was working at another branch on Wednesday and a fellow teller gave me a roll of nickels for my drawer and I look at the end and it was a 1906 V Nickel. I was shocked. I took a picture before I opened it hahah
Just got lucky. Found what seems to be a 1992 silver dime in a local Coinstar Machine. Update: I can now say for certain that my new dime is a proof silver.
I have yet to find one 2009 nickel, of any mint mark. Haven’t searched dozens of boxes yet, though. With the exception of the date field, which wore off on many, the buffalo nickel is my favorite coin design.
It would be good if you could put how much the coins are worth in the corner or something, as I'm from New Zealand and have no idea what to get excited about. Love the vids regardless
Rob my son and I are new to coin collecting. I have a question regard proof coins. Do you a coin is a proof because its extra shiny? Is it made from a different material?
My 2009 nickels tend to be about 75% Philadelphia and 25% Denver. On the East coast that's what one would expect. Ha! I guessed 1915 before you got the date out of that Buffalo.
I've heard stories that many of the 2009-P nickels went to Puerto Rico. I live on the East coast also and have only found three 2009-P nickels in 11 years...still trying to find my first D.

Out of 27 boxes, that is some great finds. Silver is silver, but those proofs I would love better. It seems proofs are harder to find.

I just found an 1892 V nickel last night in a nickel box.
