Last Sunday I spent listening, for some unknown reason, to Benny Goodman - Live at Carnegie Hall (a couple of times) and marvelling at, among many other things, at the astonishing wonderfulness of Lionel Hampton. Then this showed up and made me think very fondly of the pretty great album of the definitely great Bill Cobham ( A Funky Thide of Sings) on which this composition features. So I clicked play and geez!! Thanks for the synchronicity, thanks for the pure joy!
