Wtf is wrong with some people that keep complaining? "I like Floor better" "It's a studio version" and that kind of crap it's totally out of the picture. Jeez, it's a COVER REACTION. If you could put aside that stupid fanatic blinders and just enjoy and critically listen this COVER, you'd be able to understand what's happening here and how mindblowing is this work from Yannis. He's singing in a consistent falsetto with no cracks at all for the most part, 2 entire scales above the normal range from a male singer, while putting his soul on it. Stop bullshitting and just enjoy the song and the reaction that these 2 men give us.
Some people forget what art expression is about. It's music, not basket or soccer: there's no teams, only feelings being uncovered. I like Nightwish, I love Floor, Tarja and even Annette. But I know this song was made to be sung by a woman and, therefore, I'm able to appreciate what Yannis put for our ears. You can love, like or hate it, but don't be disrespectful with others passion. Before trash his version, think about any of 3 singers from Nightwish trying to take on "Zodd the immortal" or "Die by the blade". Pretty hard for them, right? That's the point.

I agree with you. I hate it when the sport fan mentality takes over other fan communities. Obviously you can be critical towards the art being produced but then it should be based on the quality of the work, not on its author.
I personally enjoy (professionally made) covers. They often show another side of the song, and offer an alternative way to enjoy it.
Sometimes cover versions can end up sounding better than the original one - and that's understandable. A musician might compose and write a song that he/she is not able to perform in the best way or that doesn't really fit his/her style, but a cover version can fix that problem.
For example, I wish someone would make a proper (perhaps female-voiced) cover of Lordi's Icon of Dominance. I feel that the song has a lot of potential of being smth epic but it is not the best fit for Lordi's own musical style.
@Squeek Tate it's not exactly karaoke when you can sing it better than the original artist. Admittedly the definition of better is always going to be subjective.

Exactly so. Yannis isn't Floor but he's a damn good vocalist singing stuff you wouldn't normally ask a man to try. That's a gift, not something to complain about on the internet. I'm a man who can't do that but I'm perfectly comfortable admiring him for doing it.

Bald guy with (gotta say) glorious beard has my facial expressions exactly when I first heard this.
This is easily my favorite reaction you guys have done. I will admit that I have not seen all your reactions and I am not sure of your names so please don't hate on me for that. That being said, out of the reactions you've done that I have seen, this one is so different from the rest.
What I mean is usually you start getting into the music and nothing stops you from rocking out. This is probably the only reaction that I can remember seeing where the young blood's head stopped bobbing when he heard the vocals. It was almost as if he couldn't believe what he was hearing.
The metal veteran (like I said I don't know your names) however, was the reaction I paid attention to the most. I don't ever remember seeing you so enraptured by a song before. I could see and feel almost exactly what you were as you listened to the song.
Hearing his voice, I saw you give pause and then truly listen to him sing. His voice seemed to slowly creep into your heart and soul until at 4:44 his voice grabbed a hold of your emotions and pulled them like a puppeteer pulling the strings of a marionette.
From that point on, he had completely control of your emotions and proved it again at 10:52 until the end of the song when you sat, speechless, as if trying to comprehend what you had just witnessed.
To watch your reaction and see the emotional rollercoaster that his voice took you on was a true pleasure to watch as it mirrored almost exactly my own feelings when I heard this song.

"We thought we were gonna get Jinjer. But we got something better than Jinjer, we were just not ready for it". Spot on. Expectations can really ruin a great experience. And even though Tatiana Shmailyuk is a good vocalist, Floor is in a league of her own. Btw, Floor can also growl and has done with her former band ReVamp. She does it on one song of the latest Nightwish album as well, but in general Nightwish' music is just not the kind of music for those kinds of vocals.
And yes, Yannis is an absolutely divine singer. I have listened to this vocal cover several times since he released it and get goosebumps every single time, especially during the "Floorgasm" part. You should also listen to his 'Sahara' vocal cover, another awesome Nightwish cover. The guy is a legend and should really get a lot more recognition.
Yannis voice is just so incredible, he is so talented and got an amazing voice. I checked this cover immidiately when it came out, its just soooo good :) Amazing reaction guys!

I saw Yannis with Beast in Black opening for Nightwish on their last tour and having the two bands playing back to back was the best day of my life. His range is insane.
As you said, when the choir starts and Yannis starts singing the goosebumbs are there. The song is a masterpiece with Yannis. And reaction of yours is truly prizeless.

Went to my first concert ever and saw Beast in black open for Nightwish. Was an amazing night! Yannis is awesome, one of the best metal vocalists out there. Going to see BiB again this year with Gloryhammer !
