Seeing how little I know of how many different consoles released around the world is astonishing. I thought the 90s only had about 11-12 (excluding portable), but Lady Decade still amazes me with her knowledge and findings of consoles I never heard of.
Never had a Sega MegaDrive, but my 2 Cousins had, one had the Model 1, the other had the Model 2, each one with different games, between 4 to 7yo was the time i had fun with Sonic 1 and 2, Columns, SuperHangon, GoldenAxe1, Streets of Rage1, Revenge of Shinobi and MK3, but never heard of MegaDrive 3, the Model 3 controller seems similar to the SegaSaturn Gamepad, nice memories of that one too, my first 3D console😄
That Wii-Mega Drive would be a huge hit with us older Retro Gamers if they re-released it today world wide. just look at the way people are making their own with Raspberry-Pi or buying emulator consoles from Ali-Express or ebay etc. Tectoy are still around and I really like what they have available. I have a "Modern" Mega-Drive but it does not appeal like TecToy's effort does (to me)

I'm a PC gamer and retro games collector in Brazil. In 2017 I bought the brand new TecToy Mega Drive. It's very surreal to see retail stores selling these machines. If Nintendo wasn't spineless and released a SNES version (specially with Top Gear included) it would be an instant hit here.

The MegaDrive 2 was always garbage - consider yourself lucky Brazil. - wait nm.... Imagine an FM Synth style rock bank game done by the masters of synth from Japan for Genesis
Not everyone can do, but that's beyond the point. Local companies kept rehashing and reinventing the older consoles because abusive taxes, in order to create a product that appeals to all audiences, older and new. Pretty much like the retro craze we've been lately, but way before that.

We had a clone of the Sega Genesis 3, called 'Mega Brasil 3', manufactured in China and distributed by an argentine company called 'Songa'.
