I've been watching you guys for YEARS now, and now that I'm 23 and in my first serious relationship I'm realizing I still look to you guys as rolemodels for a healthy loving relationship. I grew up in a single parent household so I didn't really have examples of what a happy relationship should look like but I really think you guys have been a positive influence on me! Thank you for that and so much more that you give us all :)
When my bf and i started dating over a year ago, i was the saaame as you girl! Quality time was both our #1. It would and it still does make us cranky when we are apart for several days. My #2 was touch. His #2 was words of affirmation.. one year later, we still love our quality time. But my #2 has changed to acts of service. Nothing says your bf cares more than when he puts chapstick on yo chapped lips in the middle of the night or prepares your lunch for work happily without asking!

hahaha so they are gone for now! We had a professional come and spray around the perimeter of our house. Also, now that it's winter, we don't get them very much! The true test is when summer comes around again...-___-

My hubby is not the most PDA person but his way of showing his love is by doing things for me as well. Anything I need, even when I think I don’t need it, he will try his best to get it for me. At first I was the touchy-feely type (sometimes I still like it) but I think I’m more of a words of affirmation or acts of service. He will tell me that he’s cleaning and tidying up because he wants it to look nice and clean for me - he thinks I’ll say something. 😂 I bought him windshield wipers recently cause he said he needed it and his response was when I told him I got it, “aww u the best”. 😊 It’s the simple things that gets me. 🙂

I’m with you girl, I started the book but haven’t finished it- for awhile my bf & I would make it a point to read a few pages every night before bed (it really helped us). anyways my love language is quality time (first place) + receiving gifts (second) which honestly makes sense because I’ve always loved feeling special by getting (random flowers, my favorite candy/chocolate bar etc). & quality time means a lot to me because I’d rather be sitting next to each other doing nothing but being together is what counts.
& for my bf, his top one is words of affirmation + physical touch (and that SO makes sense because since I’m not affectionate, he’s always thinking I don’t care about him or he doesn’t feel loved and same thing with words of affirmation~ i don’t really give him compliments or anything like that) but we’ve both worked on learning how to show each other’s love languages~ sometimes we forget but it happens 😌 been together for 3 years!

Hey Weylie, my bf and i are going through some issues lately and i think it has something to do with both our love languages being very different. Growing up, my parents showed love through acts of service so that's how i see love to be, but for my bf, its very much words of affirmation. For the past year i've been trying my hardest to accept that and accept him for who he is but lately, i find it very hard to 'convert' his love language to mine and therefore i keep feeling like i wasn't loved. Like he doesn't love me enough. Also, not forgetting to mention that i'm an over thinker and i over analyse every little actions/everything he doesn't do (that i wished he did). And i think that makes things worst. Its affecting my mental health so much that now, i've just decided not to care anymore. It makes things easier but i also know that it wouldn't be healthy for us in the long run. Can you give me some advices please? :(
Tessahoo wow I never thought I meet someone similar to me. Growing up in a Chinese household I was always taught that if a man loves you, he should go that extra mile to do things for you and not just say it. So I was always a “I wanted to see him do it then just talk nice things” ya know? My bf was a guy that never felt the need to do anything unless on VERY special occasions meaning birthdays etc. I know you asked weylie, but just wanted to give my experience is, I talked to my bf about it and I explained to him how I felt and he understood! He’s been trying to do the “little things” and even though it’s not like to the level of what I been accustomed to see from men in my family, the fact that he is trying means so much more! I feel like if someone truly loves you they will try their best no matter what, and that’s the best thing ever to see someone trying!(:

Tessahoo girl I am facing the exact same thing! My bf and I have been together for almost 5 years now and in the beginning, even up until just about a year or so ago, he showered me with love. All kinds. Now it's just bleh. Idk if I'm overthinking it and I try to justify his actions (or non-actions in this case), or should just contribute it to the fact that we've been together for this long, but in the back of my mind there's always a lingering feeling that he's just not that into me anymore. Our communication has always been up and down, understanding each other and such, but now it's even hard to communicate at all. It's been killing me mentally and emotionally, and there's not really anybody I could talk to about this. So so glad to hear your story. Keep me updated or give me suggestions haha! 💕
my boyfriend and i (we've been together for 8 yrs now) both read the book together and my love languages are quality time and acts of services. His love languages are words of affirmation and touch. It's very interesting to see because I used to complain about how he doesn't do things for me, but I was always so thoughtful with doing things for him not realizing that he didn't perceive that as love. It helped us learn how to show love in different ways that we didn't even think about before and it really is a GAME CHANGER!

My manszes and I both have quality time as our #1 love language. Which made the beginning of our relationship so unexpectedly smooth. We love going on walks together, going to the zoo or museum, working out together - and somehow we both felt loved from doing those things. I guess they say - time is one of the most valuable things we can give a person. We both work pretty demanding full time jobs (I'm a teacher!) and even though we just started living together we don't get to spend all that much time together so we always make sure to set aside time where we spend it just one on one.
My #2 is words of affirmation, his is touch. My #3 is touch and then his is words of affirmation. So we basically have the same top 3 but in a slightly different order. Even from the beginning of the relationship - we were both tripping out unlikely it was for us to be so in sync. It's been the best relationship I've ever had, and I've learnt so much about self love and acceptance through him. We'll have been together for 2 years soon but we find more and more things we love about each other every day :)

So happy that you talked about the love languages! I took this test with my boyfriend last year when we were a year into a relationship. I highly recommend doing it together and talking about it together while answering the questions cos it really helped us better understand how our actions made each other feel and why we do certain things for each other. His top love language was words of affirmation where mine was physical touch. We were both mostly the same but it made him realise why I'd get down if we didn't hug much one day for example. Now I think our languages have changed too as we're together for longer and we need different things but we know better how to identify it without even taking the test because we understand it now. Recommend it for any couple!! It's more about listening to your partner and understanding them rather than critiquing why they can't do what you like etc!
My husband is in the military, so long hours, gone a lot, so communicating is obviously extremely important to keep us kicking. We’ve been together coming up on 6 years, have two kids & have been together since I was in high school. We got married when I was 17 & had my son right after we got married, I picked up my life and move across the country to be with him. So I wish I would’ve known about the love languages when we first got married, cause we were and are still so opposite. My husband is Asian so he was raised to not talk about anything, that the most important thing is “providing financially” for your family as a male is number one. However my love language is 100% quality time & acts of service so it was extremely difficult at first, although he’s always been great at AOS he was horrible at quality time because his main priority was financially providing all he could! his love language is words of affirmation and acts of service! That book turned our marriage completely around, made us both see how we need to love each other, because I think it’s very easy to love that person the way you need to receive love, instead of how THEY need to receive love, and that’s how it was for us for so long! Here we are, 6 years later, two kids & we still learn something new everyday because people are constantly changing & I wouldn’t change it for the world ♥️ 🌎
Loveddddd the chat about love languages! I honestly think they're so important to know or learn in a relationship since everyone shows love differently. Mine are Quality Time, Physical Touch, and Words of Affirmation; my boyfriend's are the same, with maybe some Acts of Service!
Learning your love language is super informative and it really opened my eyes about myself and my boyfriends love styles for sure. At the start of the relationship quality time and physical touch were at a tie for the top, acts of service was third, words of affirmation was fourth and gifts was last. I think my boyfriends was pretty similar to mine, however over time I think our love languages both started to change a bit. I just took it a couple hours ago and my first was still quality time but words of affirmation came second this time, followed by physical touch, acts of service and gifts. I can definitely see it being words of affirmation more now since I think I appreciate being told how much I mean to people more know and don't put as much emphasis on physical touch as before. It's still important to me but as I grew into myself as a partner I started to value other things more. I think acts of service has gone up higher on my boyfriends list because I've noticed he's been more upset about things that involve that and how I don't do it as often as he does. I think it's sooo important to find out yours and your partners language so you can learn how to properly give love to your partner and how to express how you like to be loved. It really helped us in a sense because it made me better understand how we both express love and not get upset when he expresses it in different ways or when he gets upset about not having it expressed the same way!

We received the 5 Love Languauges book as a wedding gift last year and its been so helpful. Mine is quality time whereas my husband's is touch. It's helped us really understand the other person and how we think and respond differently in certain situations. I highly recommend this book for anyone, whether you are single or in a relationship.

the story about you guys’ love languages is couple goals ❤️ for me and my boyfriend our top love languages are both quality time. which is great in terms of chemistry but we’re both really busy, so it’s been really hard for both of us because we haven’t been seeing each other very often recently. my second love language is words of affirmation and his is touch! so we’re in the process of trying to work in those areas to help each other feel more loved. I’m really hoping we can work out how to love each other like you guys did!

the pastor that was marrying me and my husband REQUIRED us to do pre-marriage counseling that involved finding out our love language and discovering who we are. me and my husband are basically the same person but we have completely different love languages, which i thought was really interesting. mine is words of affirmation and the things they do for you, and he needs to be touched and hear the words of affirmation. idk it's interesting
My top love languages are gifts and acts of service. My boyfriend was really underprivileged and poor when we first started dating and him giving me gifts showed me that he put me first, even if it's not always a good thing to spend money on others when you really need the money for necessities. Acts of service are how I receive love from my parents, my dad especially, so it's just something I value. My boyfriend is acts of service and touch. His parents were super affectionate when he grew up and it's just how he shows love. He moved away from his parents at the age of 19 and touch is what he lacked the most so it's what he wants the most.
I hope you answer my very important question. Lol. But, do you guys have health insurance for the dogs or do you always pay out of pocket for the visits? If you do have insurance for the dogs, how does it work and what kind of insurance did you signed up for?

We do have insurance for the dogs! You pay out of your pocket at the visit, but depending on your plan, you will get reimbursed a certain percentage. We use FIGO and Healthy Paws :)

My #1 love language is Touch but my boyfriend’s love language is Gift and the thing is I was never a gift person and he was never a touch person so at first we had a bit of difficulty trying to feel like we actually love each other. A year in for us now so we kinda grew to become more like each other so he’ll be more touchy with me and I’ll purchase more gifts for him now. I've been in an LDR for a couple of years now and I'm like you-that my love language is also physical touch and words of affirmation!!!! I actually learned about love languages in a class & mine were: words of affirmation, quality time, touch, acts of service, & gifts! Later that day I asked my bf to take the quiz & I would also try to guess his in order. His ended up being the exact same as mine, which i also guessed correctly! 😌 it was sweet knowing we had the same importance of each one & it’s kept us going for 3+ years now 💕
So I feel like when people hear that my love language is “gifts” the mind automatically goes towards me being materialistic. But when I say my love language is giving and receiving gifts I just meant that I’ve always loved the thought behind receiving a gift. I never care so much of what the gift actually is, I always appreciate the fact that my husband was out and about and said “Hey, you know who’d love this? My wife!” And it could just be something like my favorite cereal from when I was a kid or something simple like that. I LOVE giving gifts and I do it quite often but my husband doesn’t do it so much because of course that’s not his love language, which at first made me feel like a wasn’t being appreciated but later I understood that gifts just aren’t his style which is okay :)

Helo hi, it's the girl who went through a bad break up about four months ago - happy news! We're back together 😭❤️ we did the love language a couple years ago but I think over time mines changed due to stuff going off in my life. Like yourself weylie, my parents fought all the time and it isn't till my dad was diagnosed with cancer (July 2018) I saw a change in how they express their love for each other. It's confusing because I grew up thinking if a guy didn't shout at me or something along the lines of an unhealthy relationship - he didn't love me enough.. So i would purposely create arguments with my partner because I didn't understand his way of showing love. We're a long way to go and we are learning to strengthen our relationship through communication. As a previous viewer wrote - I look upto your relationship and how its evolved over the years. I know you guys don't show the hard parts but the interview you did with that channel really opened my eyes and made me realise everyone goes through things but you just have to work through it all.

Hey Weylie and Wah! I've been following you guys since your tampon video and messy bun video and I just wanted to tell you guys how much I've admired watching your content throughout the years. So I've been in a serious relationship with my boyfriend for about four years and three months now and I must say that I was in you and Wah's shoes when you felt like you weren't compatible in the beginning portion of the relationship. For us, we also wanted different things according to our love language. I always wanted words of affirmation and touch whereas he was in a place in his life where he was more of just acts of service. Since this was his first serious relationship, we found it tough to understand HOW to be together in terms of balancing out to make each other happy. Throughout the years, I think we've grown to be more compatible in our love languages as we learned more about each other and what the other person wanted. In a way, I feel like we've almost become in sync with each other LOL because I feel like we both love quality time, touch, words of affirmation, and acts of services most. I find it really helpful to know that you guys went through something similar to me and my boyfriend. So thank you for sharing that and allowing me to gain the knowledge that compatibility is something that can be learned as you progress in your own relationship.

I am physical touch and my boyfriend is quality time. He doesn't care much for physical touch just like Wah. The funny thing is that we're also long distance so I'm deprived for most of the year haha. What I learned about myself is that even though physical touch is so important to me, I love him too much to let go so we can maintain a long distance relationship regardless. We have been together 4 years and a little over a year and a half ago we have started meeting 3 times a year for about 2-3 days each time. Of course, I get my touchy-feely battery charged up 200% in those few days and he gladly obliges for me. Inbetween our visits, we video chat often and get our fill of quality time, which is important for both us.

You made me love dogs! I keep watching your vlogs and I cant help but want to adopt a dog too although I have a phobia of dogs. But i'm glad this can be overcome. I cant wait til to not get scared anymore to cuddle them instead of loving them just from afar.

Mine and my manz are in a long distance relationship and have been for about 3 years.. so our main love language is words of affirmation, and when we send each other packages we like handmade gifts more than regular store bought gifts. If they are store bought it always has to do with An inside joke lol. When we’re together, touch is important. Love to get as many hugs and kisses in as I can 💕💕oh and quality time!! Saturdays we save for our FaceTime SATURDATES, where we watch videos, plays games and watch a show. 💕

General anaesthesia is not dangerous. If all the right precautions such as blood test are taken before hand it is extremely safe, even for senior dogs. Non GA teeth cleaning is painful and can be dangerous is conscious dogs. How is this still a legal thing in America? A conscious dog you would never even be able to do a proper clean of all the back molars plus under the gum line where the most bacteria live. If you get it done every year, navi's back teeth wouldn't be as bad as they're if they were properly cleaned. It is extremely stressful for them to be restrained and have their mouth pulled every which way.
So good that your parents were touchy feely when you were growing up, I’m from an Asian household where I haven’t ever seen my parents hold hands :(

It so interesting to take that test since I am in an LDR since a year and we only see each other every 6 months. I am a very touch person and second one is quality time. His is acts of service, words of affirmation and quality time. So we do our best on how to find ways to fulfill our needs in a way compatible to our current situation. So for me I have a bunch of hoodies from him and the same blanket to cuddle with and get a bunch of substitute hugs from my mom haha. We realized that quality time is really important and that we can do certain activities through video calling together e. g. syncing up movies. Any LDR's out there you got this! Realize that you can learn a lot from it and receive equal amount of love even if they arent always next to you. xoxo

My love languages in order are: acts of service, quality time, then much lower are touch, gifts and words of affirmation (I just think, SAYING something doesn't mean crap unless you DO something) But my man has words of affirmation first! It makes it hard when he tells me he loves me / I'm beautiful blah blah because that's how he shows he loves me and I'm like MEH. And his second lowest is acts of service so there's that...
But now after learning about love languages we realise that we show and receive love in different ways and we just gotta compromise :)

my boyfriend and i have been together for almost five years now and i think that both of our love languages have changed since we started dating. We were both in highschool at the beginning of our relationship and physical touch and receiving gifts were definitely both of ours. Over time though, going through college and being a part more often and growing with each other, i feel like my love languages are more words of affirmation, acts of service and physical touch. My partner and I differ with the physical touch part i guess because he's more of it's okay if we dont see each other for a while, like it doesnt make a difference? As where i am still a very dependent person on him and idk, i really like him to be there more. Idk if this makes sense but its just how we have grown and how we have worked. This really made me think and reflect upon the years and my relationship :)

My Partner and I, took the test back in August last year. After watching this video we both looked at our answer again and our answers are quite similar. We talked about our answers and we realise it's still the same.

A little story with the test is when me and my now bf was in the friend phase we were randomly discussing about our love languages over text. We realize that we have the exact top three (quality time, acts of service and words of affirmation) and thought that was interesting. Personally I didn't think much of it afterwards, but later on when we started dating he told me how he was giddy over it cause he started liking me around that time and it was like a "fate" moment.

When I felt some things weren’t going the right direction with my bf and I anymore, I wanted to do a love language test so we could understand eachother better. He didn’t wanna take the test because he thought it was stupid, “if you’re doing the best you can and love that should be enough”. He just didn’t get it. He wasn’t good at communicating and feelings and stuff so this was another confirmation and dissapointment for me. We didn’t last..

Mine are touch, words of affirmation, acts of service, quality time, and gifts.. my boyfriends are the exact same except quality time and words of affirmation are switched ! So it works out great!
