In terms of the U.S. market or outside of Asia most people don't know who Charice is. I know theres lots of great Asian singers but no most people cant sing like Charice IMO, she was more impressive than most of the big name Asian singers, her voice was extremely powerful/loud; she really did stand out even among many greats. In regards to Leona most people know bleeding love but hers is not a household name. It's sad, had Leona (or Charice) been out when vocalists sold (Whitney/Mariah/Celine era) they would have done very well.
atolm1 I don't know I don't find anything special in charice. She sure has a decent range but a mediocre technique. While her All By Myself performance is the most praised one the high notes are all screamed and lack support. But she can definitely sing and sing well, just doesn't have any wow factor. Leona on the other hand. Her vibrato , mid belts, falsetto and head voice are super unique so she's defo underrated
Hmm well i guess to each their own. she is very wow to me. She can sing the hardest Celine and Whitney songs better than any other Asian singer ive heard, there is a lot of wow with her IMO. Agreed on Leona, dont forget her tone, OMG her tone is so gorgeous.

Leona along with Charice were the most slept on voices of their generation. Just magical. Leona's tone is just heaven.
