Finally got around to fixing my infinite water tower on my mega build grounded world and figured i would break it down and rebuild it for you guys! Hope you enjoy :)

I just did this build, if you use the snap to grid, you can place 5 dew collectors and then go manually place 4 more in between those for a total of 9 easily
You don't NEED infinite water. A water tower is just aesthetics; it's cool to have. Don't know why people are complaining. Just play your game and let the builders build. If you'll excuse me, I have another tower I need to build.

Thank you for showing this. I was trying to find a way to get the water droplets to fall when you showed me the idea last time. I noticed when you were putting in the dew collectors, some were not poking out properly. I've noticed while building that there is an arrow pointing out from walls showing which side is the outside. As it seems to me, if you put the arrow facing out the dew collectors should fit properly.

You know what’s funny, near the pond area there’s this Big Pipe thing, it literally drops two drops of water on opposite sides of these two top things it has. You can place a water collector underneath it where the water drops and you’ll basically have a somewhat infinite water supply that’s if you don’t use it all up and will have to wait a couple of mins for more water droplets which shouldn’t happen since usually you’ll have enough to fill you up with just one or two droplet, and you don’t have to make any crazy builds and go on a rampage with materials collecting. The only downside to this is the factor that nearby this area there’s also a bomb beetle and Orb weaver spawn. Though as long as you don’t cross their path you should be fine, my base is in between those two spawns and I’ve avoided it easily, and if you need loot you can simply make the spider and the beetle kill each other for free parts, also one big downside is, I don’t know if they spawn randomly at night but a wolf spider did jump scared me far from the pipe but near the orb weaver spawn. But two huge Benefits you’d have from making your base in this area is the fact that there’s a fly spawn, I forgot the name of them but they’re the ones that spawn in dirty water, and there’s the pound which is basically a easy infinite food supply since you can go and kill the tadpoles easily and bring it back home. Easy food, easy water. Great early to mid game base even late game.
you can also go ahead and run to a lab with a water dispenser inside and fill all the bottles you need... infinite water i guess... the reason for the build is that you dont have to move outside of your base to have easy access for infinite water.
or just create a bunch of dew collectors and boom semi infinite water

I mean there's also like 3 mosquitos that spawn right there too 😂 I made my base on the posts there where you can walk up the little stick but I have to kill the mosquitoes if I wander that way to get to the hedge 😂 not a super big nuisance now but when they first showed up it was lol

My yard is a disaster and still pretty early game but having fun again after 1.0 release with a new yard... again, early game and a complete disaster.
I’m almost done blocking off the entire area under the picnic bench which is where most of my builds are so I’m definitely gonna make one of these water towers under there. Might try a floating one, I have a lounge that I built down from one of the cracks in the table to look like a beehive so may try it that way

Good idea I shrunk it way down got 4 dew collectors in a 2x1 on side of 3rd floor of my base and1/4 foundation size chimney/drain for the water to drip into water collector in kitchen on first floor no more running to the oak lab to fill my canteens
great information I am most defiantly going to use this in my yard maybe add some central zip lines

^^; the fun part is that you didn't need to get down to make ropes, since you just need a few, you just had to destroy the floors like you did immediately after that.

I've been thinking about how I can make an automatic water farm as soon as I saw that I could knock the droplets off with my fire staff, but this one's a little bit simpler I think I'm still gonna try to design my own

Grounded devs saw this and decided you know what, I want to take all of this guys hard work and just make it so you have to kill a easy boss to get this.

@@seethrew in 1.3 they added the mantis fountain which has infinite water
iv found out if the water isnt coming down from the dew collectors you might have packed them too tightly as in the one i built the droplets pinched between the collectors and didnt have enough space to drop
how many dew collectors did you end up using in total?
I ended up putting a smaller one inside my base. they fill up super fast :0 I can´t drink all of it :D
The way I did infinite water build was just make 3 dew collectors

its neat that we can do things like this but in this case i dont see much of a point other then saying "i did it" i have 2 dew collecters and i never run out of water, i also serch for dew on grass before i drink from the canteen so that might be it idk.

I LOVE this, but mine won't work even 1 of my water containers just will NOT place itself like the others with the stick out, will go in the other wall in back, but no the front lol gonna have to brainstorm 🤔
I think I figured it out... Only had 4 dew catchers 🤦♀️... But I do still have that weird water container that just won't align, ah well wtv as long as it works. Love this build!! Thanks!!
It's a nice idea, and a pretty cool build but I mean, water is already infinite, minus all this hassle lol

What do you play the game on? I play on a 3060 and when I knock down big structures my fps comes to a crawl. I think I got it down to 12 fps once

So the droplets just fall by themselves when you place the collectors near each other?
Yup, the droplets form and push each other off then falls into the containers, have to put them as close as possible to one another, the more dew collectors the better your results!

But does it really need to be that tall? It almost seems as if you can build it a lot shorter to save time and material, but I could be missing something.

Just built something similar. Mine has 2 containers down just a single shaft and doubles as my zip line tower. I posted a short if anyone wants to see it. I also have a short where I dropped a 1000 clay piece building.

This works... But when trying to slurp water from a visibly full container it says that it's actually empty. "Water container is empty"

Yup, building material doesn't matter, you can super creative with different ideas

doesn't the water stick to the Dew collector and never fall off
When they are close together, the droplets form in the same spots on the web and it forces the drops off. Goes down and funnel and into the container.

Theres dew collectors for a reason
I tried to make a version of this that was not as high, and less dew collectors but didn't work. I used three dew collectors and placed them as close as possible, but the droplets never fell off to fill the containers. What's the trick to that?
You just gotta have like 10 collectors and you have to build them first the relocate them as close as possible.

Is this still working? I created a much smaller scale version of infinite water and it worked awesome but the drops seem to have stopped knocking themselves off the collector about a week ago.
yup still works, do you havbe about 10 dew collectors? sometimes the water droplets spawn on the wrong side, and it also takes a few days for them to get big enough to fall.

Why should the water drops fall down?
When the webs are close enough, the droplets that form knock the others off the web, and they fall down the funnel!
Is that why mine never dropped? I built one similar to this a while ago but I only put 2 collectors and the water would never drop. I had to build a door and shoot the webs

I agree; however this is the fun part about Grounded. There's always something to do in it. And the ultimate reason: WHAT THE HELL!
While this is nice and I will be building this soon,you work kind of fast building it and there is a little lack of instruction but either way thank you for the video keep up the good work

I'm actually watching your chapter 35 video right now where you're building the lumber mill LOL. What I did by the way to make a alternating floor I did the stim flooring every other placement and in between those I did the triangles stim flooring. It looks really good

Does this still work in current Grounded? It seemed to be overworking in our game and then just stopped a few days later. Can't figure out what's going on honestly.
even though mine fill up and show that they are full, when you try to fill or slurp from them they say they're empty.

A single dew collector give you infinite water, takes 10 seconds to build and with that single collector, you will never run out. But why build that simple thing when you can spend a couple hours building something you don't need...

@@seethrew I prefer building simple useful things and killing stuff. When 8 to 10 wasps show up at your base and start destroying everything, it's a lot easier to rebuild a dew collector then an entire tower. But maybe it's just me who is too practical...
@@pierrepellerin249 i mean, i build to impress so i can respect that, if i didnt have anybody to show it off to i probly wouldnt build as much as i do. but if your upset about the size of this water tower, you will hate the pirate ship i built with over 200,000 stems LOL
@@seethrew There are some amazing builds out there and am sure such a big ship is quite a sight to see. However, I am just a player, a practical one and definitely not a hoarder either. I have a playthrough where I can only build in cans. Surprising how much stuff you can fit in those :)
You can just put a few dew catchers up and not waste your time with all this unnecessary stuff too. I don't even use water containers in my game because they're useless.
If they're used for anything other than thirst, let me know as I have nearly 100% the game and never found a use for them.

Nope I just ended up making a ton of dew collectors maybe 8 total my friend and I are playing on Woah difficulty and we haven't had any issues with water plus I carry all 3 water canteens never have an issue haha
Okay cool concept and all but why bother with all this work when you could literally just put the same dew collectors in a room and drink right off of them?? Endless this is strictly for looks then this makes sense but logically speaking this would just be one big waste of time and resources.

Why all this? Just place down a few dew collectors. Or if you really need infinite water, just place down like 20-30 dew collectors.
