Chancellor Otto von Bismarck.8 days in May 1941, codenamed Rheinübung.sister ship Tirpitz. The biggest warship in europe but had to many enemies to sink it. If there where not bad whether they would not last four days..

@@Belnick6666It was scuttled yes, but it is also suggested that it wouldn’t have continued floating for more than a few days if it hadn’t been scuttled in the best case scenario which, considering the damaged rudder and the fact that there was no way the RN was going to just let it slip off again, spelled doom for it regardless. It was already listing badly enough. It could have been saved potentially if the Allies fled right afterward due to the reported U-boat sighting like they did irl, but it would have required a pretty mega effort for a tow with the damage it had sustained, so there really isn’t much to offer on a “what if.” The truth is that yes, it did sustain significant enough damage from the RN’s ships to cause it to begin sinking, the Germans just didn’t want to risk it and decided to scuttle the ship anyway. It was a sinking ship regardless.
The Bismarck had a sister ship (that means there was a ship of the same class, in this case the Bismarck class battleship). The Tirpitz. After the Bismarck was scuttled (meaning the crew sunk the ship to prevent it falling into enemy hands) the Tirpitz was kept in a covert naval base in occupied Norway to project power through it's mere existance. On the 12th of November 1944 two british Lancaster bombers managed to land two bombs onto the main deck setting it ablaze. The fire spread to the munition storage of one of the heavy guns causing a massive explosion.
