    Kshmr says to cut the frequency of where the kick hits that way the sub frequency sits on the kick like a glove. Also helps to use Lfo tool/shaper box to get them shaped together smoothly

    • @DefinitelyNotSwedish
      @DefinitelyNotSwedish 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You mean the LFo as sidechain?

    • @irony9234
      @irony9234 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DefinitelyNotSwedish yeah it’s like the Nicky Romero’s vst or shaperbox or lfo tool. You would look at the kick and shape the sub which hugs the kick, basically where the kick is the sub should not hit the kick frequency that’s why you couple it to come through directly after the kick. So you are “shaping it” to fit together tight

    Sick song and video as always 🙏 just a quick tip that I know you know Alex but others may be mislead by what you said, the bottom note of your chords isn’t ALWAYS the best note for your bass only because some people may make inverted chords on accident and therefore the bottom note may be a different note than intended but the notes still won’t be wrong by any means it just may hit differently in different notes of the scale so just always take everything with a grain of salt and experiment and most importantly have fun :)

    • @xvAlien
      @xvAlien 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi nick! im very new at this stuff so im just wondering what do you mean by inverted chords? since we're already here could you give me an example of what would be an inverted chord you could add inside of Alex's progression at 1:36? if it's too hard to explain, no worries mate! thanks

    I'm curious só I need to ask...
    ...this song from this vídeo is considered (recogn8zed) as "house music" by you?
    Please, don't get me wrong.
    I'm curious because you seem to know what you're doing, but my references about "House Music" are really way different from what you're building there...

    Great video Alex! Is there a way to do this with one instance of Serum instead of 2?

    • @hiddenmelodies9282
      @hiddenmelodies9282 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Better to use two, if not eqing the sub and mid basses would be difficult, and it will mess up your mix greatly

    • @hiddenmelodies9282
      @hiddenmelodies9282 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you really wanna go ahead with that, you turn on the sub at the top left side of serum where it says sub, change the wave form to Square, and turn on the S under the filter settings in serum. Set the octave in the sub as well. If you want the filter to affect the sub differently, u need to use 2 serum. I really highly recommend using 2 serum instead of 1,but hope this helps
