Maybe, but electronic sirens are still the future. I also personally prefer electronic ones, even though those old-fashioned air-blowers might have some advantages in terms of reliability etc. But companies are likely developing better electronic sirens, and perhaps one day electronic sirens will be as good mechanical ones, if not better.
The siren itself is capable of many tones, along with any sound played through a microphone. Likely their controller is only capable of these three tones.
Yes. The siren itself is actually a huge loudspeaker. We have one in our school and the amplifier supports six siren tones, three chimes, microphone and even an AUX input!
just have an app installed in local sheriffs on the surrounding cell phones or detectors added in homes to go off when tornado near like fires. they our activated by an alert app.
AwesomeDesertTrains They’re for severe t-storms. They aren’t really a threat. It’s not stupid for many reasons. Most people will already know if there is a severe t-storm warning, simply because of the look the clouds give off. It’s more of a reminder tbh. But when there’s a real threat, like a tornado warning, many people won’t know, because tornado warnings can be issued to any storm. They’re also issued out of the blue, because tornadic conditions can’t be predicted ahead of time. When the tornado alert sounds on a siren, the news has likely just gone out, so most television news stations and weather apps won’t be any faster than a traditional tornado siren. The severe t-storm alert is perfectly reasonable, because they likely sound before the storm hits. But like I said, you can see most storms in the sky before they hit. The advantage the siren has is that they can sound them if there’s a severe t-storm alert BEFORE you see it
I love the modulator❤❤

Tri State Railfan ProductionsTM That's a K5HLL
they have to make the sirens have a waver because a solid tone will not work that people will hear it and then they can't tell if it is off.
On the wavering wail it sounded like a slide whistle
IMO, these newfangled electronic devices can't compete with the old-school mechanical sirens.
Agreed.
