I have the B&O in the A or S, it would've been nice to not have fade, but am biased living next to old mainline, and would put L&N and seaboard a B, due to drab Grey paint, they could've chosen a better version to use
Great list put together! I knew nothing about the weird PRLX Ace until now, and not very much either about that earlier CSX American spirit unit. I will mention that if I ever do a ranking/list of the CSX HUs, the Nose painted Geeps will not be included. Because that’s all the work of Vandals and I don’t tolerate it.
No reason they couldn't have been painted in full. Yes it's better than nothing, but they have other locomotives like 911, 3194, 4568, the three commemorative B&O painted units, and several others painted without the blue and yellow CSX nose. The only exception being 1776, which has the normal CSX front end as well. Sucks we didn't get to see their most anticipated locomotives painted in full, but not the end of the world. Still awesome to see these locomotives.
And 7812 also was renumbered to 1992 for the Campain for George HW Bush in 1992 and 7812 lead the train for the 41st President. And Note: Progress Rail 4834 is sadly in Storage in East St Louis, IL
My favorite CSX heritage units are 1976 and 1973 but I do like all of them overall except for the L&N because the paint scheme is so bland. The fact that the units aren’t fully painted hurts them however. I haven’t seen any of those in person but I have seen the NS ones (including 8098) and they did a much better job as a whole. I don’t quite understand ones like 4834 and the C&O refurbishment being ranked so highly though lol.
@@buccaneerrailfanning1776Don't overlook the CSX heritage units in the future. I haven't seen any yet, but if I see one, I'll let you know.😂😅My best heritage unit pick is #1827, the B&O unit.
L&N C30-7 was not restored in Cumberland… it was done in Huntington, WV.
Iowa Interstate, NS and CN did them right in my book....We should be thankful that the Railroads decided to do this.👉🏻.....nice video.

If they didn't do the 3/4 paint (it would be better without the fade and "slant" ), the blue and cream passenger scheme would be amazing.
Csx did a good job on there Heritage units if you understand the story
Ive seen both L&N "heritage" locomotives (323/1850)

I liked csx unit 940 the crayola unit
It was more for to protect their trademarks. Use it or lose it.

Better than those sticker units
I think its neato.😂😅
Heck yeah, C&O and ACL in S tier. The C&O one is my favorite with the ACL one at a very close second.

I like csx 1871
Spirit of America is an easy S tier

Best CSX HU gotta be 1871, but that's just me lol
The thumbnail is click bate I was like no way someone would think that for the f40s 😂
Youd be suprised, some people hate em just because CSX owns them

@@buccaneerrailfanning1776I love that unit, too.😂😅Then again, I do like ACL.
