Wow, this video is just amazing! It's a comprehensive guide that covers everything I need to know, yet it's still short and to the point. I appreciate how detailed the information is and how it's presented in a clear and concise way. It's obvious that a lot of effort went into making this video. Great video!! Much appreciated. Is it possible to do a demo video where you connect the devices to the Samsung Smartthings Station hub? I bought the hub a week ago and can not connect any Aqara products to it. There are no QR codes, nor the scanning for devices "nearby" work. I try also tried connecting by "selecting from a list of devices," and the connection always failed. What I am doing wrong? There is not a lot of Smartthing Station help videos on TH-cam. Is that I already have my devices connected to my Aqara hub?
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

Fews years down, I finally bought my own place and is looking forward to make it smart. I'm on the smartthings platform, will one Smartthings hub be able to cover all zigbee devices in a 4rm flat? Thanks for a great video, I've been using ST for a few years now and sometimes its just frustrating as I'm really looking for an easy to use platform. I used ST, ActionTiles, Alexa and SonOff via IFTTT to get most things done. I had success using the Nodon smart switches but had to find drivers for that. In a new home now, i'm setting things up again and looking to use Dakboard instead of actiontiles, but I was wondering if you had experience with wireless switches to select scenes. Previously I used nodon for this which was great, like a hotel. But i'm looking for a new smart switch that can work. I bought Aqara, but that doesnt work, my ikea hub detects the zigbee switch but not ST. Which wireless smart switches to kick off scenes or automation do you recommend?

    • @lanpengwoo6955
      @lanpengwoo6955 ปีที่แล้ว

I had the same issue with the Aqara legacy devices.
      These are the steps:
      1. Go to ST Community to look for the right drivers for your devices.
      2. Enroll the channel(s) and install the right driver(s).
      3. Re-pair the devices. The newly paired devices might be assigned ZigBee Thing Driver. This driver's only purpose is to list your device in ST as a placeholder.
      4. Select a different driver.
Watch the video below to learn which channel/driver to use.

Brilliant (hehe). Very informative. Considering your closing statement, what smart home app would you consider if you are a beginner? I don't know which app to choose for a smart home. I am looking for the option to be able to integrate as many devices with a decent amount of control. I just feel like there are many options out there and I want to not have to worry if all the features of a device will work on whatever platform I use. I really like your style of reviewing and educating your viewers who are looking for solutions and ideas for smart home setup.
    Super informative and direct.
Actually I have sort of acquired a Smarthings hub and Google Nest hub and maybe I should just expand n that for my new house now, but I am very new to this smart home concept.
    I have some questions,
    1. Do I have to install either a smart light or light switches or both to achieve smart controls? Not sure does both have to be smart or just either one of them.
    2. Planning to install magnetic track lights system, but not sure if I will need all the modules to be smart modules or just the switch to be smart.
It’s actually rather confusing with so many platforms, connectivity and devices to choose from. Making it rather difficult for beginners to take that initial step to SmartHome.

when the tv is off, device will be offline, only when it is on then you are able to change source. So you still need an IR blaster to turn it on first then you can set automations after that

For now i've put a smart plug on my tv and made an automation which pings the consumption every 20 seconds or so and considers the TV " ON" if it's above 30 watts. I am thinking the implications of
      1. Smart switch can still use as normal without turning off the smart light completely, and still enable smart home control
      2. Double tap on the swtich can be a dedicated set "turn on light for 10 mins)
      3. Triple tap to turn off zone lights, example kitchen.
As I have a mixture of dumb and smart lights, looking to set in a way decouple mode for switches connected to smart light, and couple mode for switchs with dumb lights.
