Nine dead in two months is basically one a week. That is really scary. Aiko's brother is a hero. I'm sure he doesn't feel that way because he couldn't save his sister. My wish is that he knows he saved countless others from ending up in this man's apartment.
And then a hero comes along With the strength to carry on And you cast your fears aside And you know you can survive So when you feel like hope is gone Look inside you and be strong And you'll finally see the truth That a hero lies in you!
I admire the woman who went to his house in the "sting" operation. Even with the police back up this was a huge risk, he could have knifed her the moment she was in the door or taken her as a hostage! Aikos brother is also a remarkable young man. Great video Mike ❤
His story was Dahmer-ish. Fascination with death, staying connected with dad, being alone a lot, keeping pieces, and his honesty about what he did and what he is. Not identical but interestingly similar.
Everything adds up, only detail I was skeptical of was including the choking “game” he & his friends did... I went to school with a bunch of kids who did that as a way to “get high” with no drugs I guess, and most those dudes are just successful businessmen with beautiful families now 😂
This case is so similar to the Dahmer case. 1. Sought victims who fit a specific profile - people who thought they wanted to kill themselves. 2. Drugged and strangled his victims. 3. Sexually assaulted his victims. 4. Dismembers his victims. 5. Kept body parts in his apartment - particularly heads and bones. Probably defleshed them, but there was no mention of it. 6 Neighbors complained about the horrid smell coming from his apartment. 7. He spent more time with some victims vs others. 8. Lived in a crappy apartment. Main difference is he didn’t consume any of the victims and he wasn’t almost caught 2-3 times before actually getting caught. Or least there was no mention of it.
If I randomly disappeared one day, the only person who’d ever go looking would be my wife. I’m 36 and have known hundreds of people throughout those years who each claimed to be my friend, family, or lover, and somehow only a singular person would notice or care if I vanished. If she went to the police, others might see my picture on the local news, but it’s unlikely anyone else I’ve known would consider it more than an oddity. Sadly, a large percentage of people in the world are in the same situation; if they stop showing up to work, their coworkers will assume they just bailed and the company would fill the vacancy. If their neighbors stopped seeing them, they wouldn’t notice or care. Their families wouldn’t catch on for quite awhile, and for many people they never would. If you’re not one of these people, consider yourself very lucky, as it’s far too easy to simply vanish no questions asked.
That brave young lady saved countless lives by contacting the police and then walking into his death trap. I hope she’s doing well, along with the victims loved ones and the jurors.
Huge respect to poor Aiko’s brother for pursuing this so diligently. If he hadn’t, this monster would absolutely have just kept killing. Hopefully that can be some small comfort to him, that her death wasn’t entirely in vain. It got him caught and put an end to his massacre.
“To be fair, he’s refreshingly honest for a psychopathic monster” I’d honestly much prefer if killers like this were actually open and honest like this, like at least he isn’t putting on fake sympathy towards the families he’s affected, he isn’t lying and telling them “I regret what I did to your loved ones”, I’d much rather guys like him were just honest about their crimes
Most pyschopaths are narcissist which is why most will always lie to protect themselves a narcissist will never want the death penalty they love themselves too much.

Not sure if you follow Dire Trip on TH-cam, but he does a lot of Japanese cases and is always asking for suggestions for more. I think he lived there briefly as a teen, so he does a pretty good job with pronunciation too.
From what I read, people on death row in Japan are not told their execution date in advance, they're picked up from their cell the day of and taken to the execution chamber with no warning. They also have limited possessions, including no more than three books at a time (which gave a whole new meaning to the beginning of Disney's Ranpunzel in my mind).
I wish those on death row in the US were treated the same way. Feed them a bowl of over-cooked mushed peas and a glass of water on their execution date. It is so disrespectful to see US death row inmates with nice things in their cells.
Aiko is an amazing brother and son. So sorry to him and his family. So hard to lose two family members; even harder to lose them so close together. And that boyfriend who went to probably rescue his girlfriend ... all those people. Beyond sad. Awful for their families.

Grasping at absolute straws! Thankfully the court decided he would've been found guilty even without any canine evidence. She left a friends to meet with her estranged husband and was never seen again. What a guy now their son's an orphan
Takahiro's resolve to the situation he brought down on himself was interesting. I wonder if the culture of Japan had anything to do with it. His owning up to his crimes almost seemed "Honorable" .
This is absolutely bizarre and also terrifying. Apart from the victims, I feel bad for the jurors. That guy basically said he has nightmares sometimes because of this guy's testimony

I’ve never understood the “choking game”. Can’t believe that is still a thing. A perfect example of an immature mind (acting without considering any possible outcome or consequence). My cousin got a concussion when she was choked to the point of unconsciousness. She was standing & hit hear head when she collapsed. She was in high school. NO ONE THOUGHT THAT COULD BE A POSSIBILITY?! 🤔

Mike, I think I’ve been with you since 15K, puts a smile on my face to see you out there passing milestones and I’m sure reaching goals, I’m happy for ya!
Warnings and suaside and crisis hotline… you have hit the big time brother!!
It's always a great day when Mike uploads a video or podcast. Thanks for all you do! Much love ❤️
I'll pass on the podcasts, his original content was leaps and bounds better. I don't know about you but I don't get on TH-cam to listen to podcast
Yay! My morning just got better. Thank you for posting and all your hard work Mike! 😊
**waves from your bushes.
@@chipsweaters we've found a future star of Mike's videos
@@badabing8152 ***bows See you soon mom.
@@chipsweaters you have issues. The worst part is you think you're being funny. I'll take $500 for you're the guy who's said 'tips fedora. m'lady'
@@badabing8152 Damn. Go off sis.
So gruesome. I wonder why neighbours smelled such foul odor, but never called the police? Such a sad story.
Thanks
Great as always! Thank you for your excellent work!!❤
Hello hello Mike!! Just want you to know we all appreciate you and the hard work you do!!
This dude should have way more subs. He's the best true crime creator on TH-cam by far. Great content and perfect, unique presentation. His Podcast is even better.
1.84 million subs isn’t enough..? 😮
Wait is this his alt??
@@EYE_GOTCHA I appreciate it's a lot, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying..5M wouldn't be that surprising.
@@EYE_GOTCHA lol I was thinking the same thing.
Somehow the best true crime channels don't get the biggest subs. I see straight garbage ones with 5+ million.
He actually treated this like a hobby the way he was so brutally honest
The for rent sign at his apt building was a nice touch!
Scrolled through some comments as I usually do, and I'm also another one having a really crappy week. Thank u for ur awesome vids Mike. They really do help take my mind off whatever is going on for a bit whilst acknowledging my life could be so much worse than it is.
Yay!!!! A new video, love hearing your voice!💖
Perfect timing I just sat down with my morning coffee!!!
Thanx for everything you do big guy. Your personality and demeanor really help warm the heart. Can't wait to give this one a gooooo!!
Mike, your camera and visuals look crisper than ever. I'm impressed, and I don't normally notice that sort of thing.
❤❤
SURPRISE!!! ❤❤❤ thanks Mike! For another one!!
An audible "YEEEESSSSSSS!!!" and physically jumped when I realized Mike released a new video!!! I'm constantly re-watching videos bc I just can not get enough of ThatChapter!!!❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Can't get enough of that "Life Insurance Dance"! 😂
i can’t leave comments on the podcast, so i figured i’d mention it here - love the mix of short and longer form content that we get now! i’ve got the charles walton episode queued up for tomorrow - i’ve been intrigued ever since Scotland Yard Confidential covered it, and i’m excited to see your take on it 👀
Mike, you’re such a cool and compassionate dude. Big fan.
Can't help but to respect his honesty. Dude is messed up, but he kept it real.
I'm so happy to see you out of the void! I also love the content you've been putting out as I've loved your channel for AGES! Keep being you, Mike
I love this channel! Thanks Mike! ❤
I love how he says it's a place you don't wanna forget your hand sanitizer, think about the money that flows through those places and how many hands touch it and then it travels all over the place. Money is so gross.
Im impressed that you went to Japan for this story and filmed it in the street.
Plus that adorable Irish accent is so irresistible…can’t help but tune in! ❤
Thank you for blessing my day with your goofy ass lol. I live in Michigan and yes ork in demolition so usually busy in a semi truck or machine everyone else listens to music but not me. I never miss one of your mysteries and now your podcast. Really happy for you glad to see how far you've come brother!
Good morning Mike! Lovely to see you again! Thank you for telling us these stories, even if they are dark and sad! You are a fantastic and respectful storyteller! ❤
Nice Post mich
I have to say you look drop dead beautiful
@@brianmulholland6209 thank you 😊
@@brianmulholland6209 thanks again. 🥰
@@boogsie87 my pleasure 🙏 👌👍❤️
Thanks so much for the stories Mike!! Always so happy when I've seen that you've uploaded.
This guys honesty about only being sorry that he got caught, is probably one of very few confessions from a killer.
^^^^^^
Love all your videos. Thank you!
Great work mate. Look forward to you every time.
Good morning from Washington state Mike! Thanks for the new video, hope you're well. Podcast is great btw 🎉
Thanks Mike, love your videos. 🌻
Love ya Mike. I watch and listen to many, MANY podcasts and TH-cam channels, and you give it to us straight with just the right amount of humor
^^^^
Mike, you need merch!! I so want some. You're channel and talent are awesome. Thank you for all the hard work and the hilarious comedy woven in while also being so respectful of the victims and families. Great work!
Meg you the man
T shirts that say "Mike out" or "Let's give it a goo." Or "On the turdy turd day."
Hi Mike!!! Love your stuff as always ❤
Excellent story telling Mike! I look forward to your videos because they take me away from whatever is going on and I can just listen knowing you will explain it in detail but simply as well. I have always been fascinated with how these people tick. What leads a person to go from somewhat normal with a normal life to murderer? This one was horrific and strange and goes to show that you may not know people like you think you do.
