I am a senior woman in better than average fit/strength for my age - mid-70s. I found it incredibly hard to unbend fresh out of the box at 57 dgrees F, which I dont consider cold. The fore and aft bulkheads do not fit well or securely into the grooved attachments already installed. There is one hard-to-see printed line that does not even appear until you turn the boat over. It is NOT part of the folds already made when you open the box. I had to actually stand on the adjacent pieces to get those orange fold lines to bend so I could get it back in the box. Salesman at REI had said launching with arm pushing over a pebbly beach would not harm it, but the reports below make me doubt that. A $900 boat ought to be better.
I didn't know it was velcro on those straps. I hate velcro. After awhile it stops sticking/holding. Last thing I want is my boat coming apart out on the water lol
The velcro straps on the front and back aren't keeping it together the snap on straps are doing 99% of the work. It wouldn't matter if the velcro stopped sticking entirely
I think these are still heavily backordered. COVID-19 has been (sadly) wonderful in terms of finally giving people and their families enough time to go out and explore new lakes and rivers.
I have one of these. They're great - but they are super fragile. First outing ours slid over a few rocks going down a river in Yosemite valley and got a hole. You really can't treat them like kayaks. They're fragile canoes for deep water only. Customer support just offered us a naff puncture repair kit...
Haha, for that price there are so many choices out there, the only place I would use one of these is in a swimming pool where flat water is garranteed!
@@susanneward7029 the water was flat :) Just unexpectedly shallow in places. Don't get me wrong, still love it. We only use it on the sea now, and it works well when it's calm.
Isn't this like $1,000? Not worth it sorry. This thing will be pushed around by a light fart. Sea eagle makes a drop stitch inflatable for half the price. Or for like $100 a regular inflatable Maybe if it was half the price that it is. I bet half the people who drop $$$ for this use it once and then never again. I've seen people make this from $50 of home depot material. I really like the idea but not the price. Tucktec makes a foldable for 300.
The second opening of the Inlet went a lot easier - 10 minutes instead of 2 hours. But packing it back up was still 25 minutes and I had to sit on it to close it enough to hook the straps. I will watch video again to check which end should be folded up first
Incredible product with one massive unforgivable flaw.
Way Too Expensive!!
Looking forward to its arrival.
@@OruKayak until u want service...then ur screwed...we dont do dat😎😅😄😃☺🤗💞💖

Love the kayak, love the music!
Can't wait to get mine, hopefully in time for a late, warm September.

What made you think you can grind it on rocks?
I was wondering the same thing. The product information on their website clearly says it’s “designed for use on flat water.”

@@TheWildernessEnthusiast Didn't intend to - but difficult to avoid when on a river.

6 min assembly first time!
Paddle included?
No.
For those prices a paddle SHOULD be included
@@HK-uj9qc normal kayaks do not include them either.
I also put the link in my bio to buy one
What material is it made of?
Concerned about the on folding and folding of the material and the effects it has on the creases over time and potential for punctures .
❤
Have you also tired it on water?
No fin?
