i=m currently going trough an online course in Japanese Tanabata is the last subject before the exam and while i had an idea what it was about when i listened to it on a CD i wasn't sure i understood it but the video sure helped me understand much better
My mother's Japanese friend told my mom about this story since she told them that my bday is on the 7th of July... and I'm doing as much research as I can about it because it seems pretty cool 🤩
Yep, same ^^ Because of that reason I found out about Tanabata and its a really cute sory :D I was so fascinated when I heard that it was on my birthday cause I love the stars, the sky and everything thats about romance ^^
I don't know about the Japanese version, but in Chinese original version at the end, the bridge is constituted with kasasagi. Which means they stand on lots of lots of kasasagi to meet with each other.
This holiday was brought to Japan by the Chinese because this is based of a Chinese festival called the Qixi festival but in Japan it’s the tanabata star festival the story is almost the same and time is almost the same with Qixi it’s both when the Atlar and Vega meet [Gosh Dang!!!!] ⭐️
Ah so cute! This really helped me understand the story for the tanabata project that I'm doing. Thank you!
LeSweetpea same here. My sensei assigned us and let us choose the topic. I m glad I chose this without even knowing the story lol

They celeberate on August 7th in Sendai though (differences in calendars). It's a whole festival from the 5th at night to the 8th! Going this year!

All the major sekkus seem to be carbon copies of their Chinese counterparts. Cool to see the transfer of culture.
