Pulling the string identifies the actual foul/fair boundary. The entire line is FAIR territory, therefore make sure you align the outside EDGE of the line with the string. Don't make the rookie mistake of centering the line on the string. The outside edge of the line should line up with the outside edge of the base and the outside edge of the foul pole. Also, lines painted on grass is fine, but using aerosol cans on dirt is not much better than no lines. If you don't have a bulk paint applicator that will apply copious amounts of paint, chalk looks better and lasts longer (never use chalk on grass). 🤔
