Dear Shaikh, Shaikh Aasim AlHakim has studied at Umm Ul Qura University in Makkah, his teachers were Shaikh Ibn Baz & Ibn Uthaimeen, And he never said to follow him, in fact he always quotes from Quran & Sunna and what big Ulama said. Jazahu Allahu Khairan
Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakatuhu, Dear Brother Shaikh Assim Al-Hakeem which you are quoting to have Studied under Shaikh ibn Baaz and Shaikh Uthaymeen is not Authentic because he lived in Jeddah and has done 2 years of Diploma in Islamic Studies in Ummul Qura University but has not done any Degree in Sharia. And there is no possibility that he has studied under Shaikh bin Baaz as he Lived in Riyadh and Shaikh Uthaymeen in Qaseem region. May be there is a Possibility of Attending 1 or more lectures of these Scholars but he has not achieved any authentic Sharia course from them. Also no Ulama have Certified Shaikh Assim Al-Hakeem to spread Knowledge. Since there are very less scholars who give lectures in English and also when people started asking Questions he began to reply to them. Since we have no evidence that he has achieved any Sharia degree from any authentic Scholar we are stating this. But most of the times he gives Correct answers but some of the fatwas stated by him which I have gone through was not from any Authentic Scholar. Hence Ignoring him is better until we get Authentic Information about his Knowledge from where he has achieved it. Wallahu Alam.
