So 2 things i noticed, 1-The king original number seems to have been 40 since here 2:31 we can see the blue king crown with the number 40. 2-So originally all the radiator springs crew was supposed to be in the pit crew.
Because he was originally supposed to have 57 doe to the reference to a Disney Dev (i forgot his name) in which he was born on 1957 then they change It to 95 because Toy Story was made in 1995
because this was all story boarded and they probably didn't have time to incorporate a damaged version of the king at that time as everything was on a limited schedule
Seeing Doc smiling just makes this worth seeing over and over again
You can tell this was early because his number is still 57

He did, actually. It wasn't really visible until the part after mcqueen managed to make some distance in front of him (and needed some zoom-in lol)

Definitely Chick's number is 48.
The King's number is 5. That's definitely they forgot to have Chick Hicks's number 48 sticker.

Also Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s number is definitely 888 from the early storyboard. Kevin Shiftright's number from early storyboard is 83.
So originally chick was like mcqueen but green, that means he was originally green car #13 from teaser trailer
No mcqueen was the red number 57 racer
