Woah. Is it me or did video production get a pay rise suddenly 😂
Ok it’s been a minute since I’ve watched your videos. Seems you’ve had top notch video quality for some time now. Excellent stuff
@@hyperprotagonist The shutter broke on my other mirrorless camera so I had to step it up a bit. Don't worry though, the beard is coming back!
@@WillieHowe the step up is incredible! And yea… miss your beard 🥲
All my APs are hard wired but my biggest issue at times is my devices dont like to roam to a closer AP
I think a while back there was a limitation on vlans and meshing. I had 2 work networks during the pandemic and long before that I turned off meshing as I didn’t see the need for the feature if you have APs dotted about hardwired in.
Nice vid. Big up pops! Yo I’m waiting for the fire colourway of the Spizike low. They are cold
I am struggeling making an Mesh network between U6+, and/or AP-lite and AC-Pro. I can make work 1-2 hours and then it stops. Afterwards the acesses point goes in isolation mode. I have tried all combinations. I cannot find any information on the Unifi forums about this. Almost similar to your issue. I will try the solution here.
Hi Willie, thanks for the video. I ended up unchecking the "wireless meshing" option as I was having a crazy problem (presumably). It seemed like any time the device that the AP was plugged into restarted, the AP would switch to meshing and not go back to the wired connection, even after the switch was up. Throw in there that it would then throw "network loop" errors and disable the switch port. Maybe I had something else happen, but I stopped having issues when I unchecked it. Love your channel...thanks
I had exactly the same problem and also had to disable the wireless meshing function. The AP would form a wireless mesh and cause the switchport to go into blocking mode.
IMO, the risk of an AP making a network loop (as many have for me) is way worse than an AP going offline because of cabling. Then again, I am not a vendor installing hardware across a tri-state area...
so my unifi-network-application version 8.1.127 that setting is greyed out as I have 2 U6 Extender that are meshed to my U6-LR, my USW-Pro-24 is my main switch love that thing i also have a USW Flex Mini thats a nice 5 port switch too. So i got to know what version are you running or did you just remove any meshed devices?
I had no meshed devices.
If you change the Monitor address, I would recommend putting in the WAP that the meshed WAP connects to. Of course, that WAP would need to be set to a static IP address so that it doesn't change. If the WAP that the meshing WAP connects to is down, then the mesh isn't going to work anyway, so it's a good address to use as the monitor. Of course, this would mean that you may have to set the meshing WAPs in their own profile or set them individually so that you can specify a specific, possibly different, IP address to monitor for each of the meshing WAPs.
I disagree with this video 100%.
What do you disagree with, or what would you do?
yes , me too if you wired in you access points, wireless meshing just degraded transfer speeds and causes tons of other issues. I turn off this setting for all deployments.
@@ryanmiller6887 Loop storms, the switch powers the ap, if you reboot any of the equipment out of sequence, they ap's will mesh and bring down ports on switches AKA GARBAGE! When setting up a client, the first thing i do MESH OFF!!!
