Just found this! I'm just up the road in WA and had been looking at your Barker Cabinets - was not aware of the City Line until this link was in my recommended videos queue. From what I can see the differences from Barker don't appear to be too great - the cabinet material, the draw box material (and finish) and the drawer slides(appears Blum Door Hinges are same) would look to be it? Am I correct in that the Doors/Drawer fronts are esentially exactly the same?
The fronts are exactly the same. The slides are now Blum Tandem on the City line (as of 10-1-23). Barker Cabinets now has the Blum Movento slides which are cutting edge and top of the line. Basically, Barker is for ultra high-end RTA cabinets, whereas City is for the same look, but more of a budget mindset. The plywood interior and the drawer boxes are the main difference between the two lines.
@@barkercabinets Thank you - like you say, the same visual appearance with a a few more budget friendly concessions. For those who need to conserve a little, this line looks like great value as alternative to cabinets that are completely imported - with the added advantage over those in that you have custom sizes even, vs fixed widths! Your sizes in 1/4" increments vs 3" at best (& sometime 6!) with those other sellers. 👍
Great to see another budget friendly, yet well made option from Barker. Question, looks as though you don't offer a slab drawer or door front in the City Cabinet line. Is this correct, or am I missing something on your site?
City has some limitations to keep it budget friendly and quick to produce. Slab plywood fronts run through a different area of our factory that cause a bit slower production time as they are not cut like a normal five piece door. On city we decided to offer only the regular five piece doors like shaker, westminster, Windsor, etc to keep things flowing. We do not have the slabs as we have Barker Modern that was made specifically to fulfill the need for a modern slab look.
@@barkercabinets Just now looking into this option. Would it not be possible to do the CityCabinet for boxes, drawers, etc., but use solid wood slab drawer fronts and doors?
Globally sourced plywood (Citycabinets.com) is Carb 2 compliant (close to zero emission but not certified). For certified formaldehyde free plywood, see barkercabinets.com in the form or Columbia Pure Bond plywood that is made right here in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Are these drawer slides full-extension?
Yes, full extension and soft closing.
@@barkercabinets Are the door hinges soft closing also?
@@daver9563 yes, Blum Blumotion soft closing hinges (clip-top).
Thank you for your reply and one last question. If I order something pre-finished I would assume the plywood on the inside will be sealed also?
@@daver9563 yes, any “exposed interior cabinet” will be finished the same as the door/cabinet face.
