Ballet has been doing proshots for decades and it hasn't k1led the art. Musical theatre's refusal of it is pig headed and idiotic. It gives you advertising! It gives everybody involved extra revenue! It preserves the performances of every actor, including he ones not famous enough to go on tv! There is literally NO downside!
There's ONE "downside", and its an insanity that only exists in the minds of elitest assholes: if you provide proshots, The Poors will experience theatre, and these assholes think that theatre should only be experienced by people able to pay the in person ticket price + expenses to actually get there. They genuinely despise the thought of anyone financially unable to do that geting to have the same thing they do but in an accessible way. Its irrational, honestly hateful snobbery of the highest level. And when you're so snobbish that the BALLET INDUSTRY looks grounded and humble in comparison, you have truly gone through the looking glass and cannot be saved.
See also the success of NT Live for… 15? years now, and more recently NT at Home. If anything it's kept me more engaged with theatre in the periods I can't be there physically (*gestures vaguely at 2020* but not only that), so will be more keen to go to something when I *am* able.
@@emhu2594 plus there's shows like Heathers' and Carrie which only got a revivals because they gained so many fans from illegal recordings. The exact opposite of recordings killing a show.
I was at the Emojiland recording, and i desperately need that proshot released to relive that night. There was such a defiant energy because everyone there- cast and crew, and the audience knew the former had just had the next few months work robbed from them. Plus, they had a preshow warning that they may stop the show at any time for tech stuff/reshoots, etc...and it wasn't stopped once, EVERY SINGLE PERSON brought more than their A game and it deserves to be seen and acknowledged
I like the concept of musicals and plays being professionally recorded and preserved. It gives access to people who can't get to the theatre or don't even know about it. As always, the unknowns of releases always drives me crazy! Like, I am desperately waiting for the SIX pro-shot to be released any day now! Anyway, safe travels to NYC! Hope you and Aeron have a great time!
Hi MickeyJo! The Play That Goes Wrong was filmed in Chicago for two days back in 2022 after their limited reunion run in the UK. Some fans were able to see it when they were in Chicago and confirmed that it was filmed. However, when asked at stagedoor, Jonathan Sayer said that the proshot will not be released until after tptgw finishes, which as you said, will mostly be a very long time
I'm so happy to hear this. I missed out on the chance to see the original cast the first time and when they did it recently, it was too far away. I've seen other casts do it and I'm a big fan of the recorded version of Peter Pan and the other BBC stuff they did. I feel lucky that I live in London and can watch TPTGW whenever I want to but I really want to watch the original cast do it. I also missed out on watching The Comedy About a Bank Robbery and it sucks that there's no way to experience that now.
@@joevictor53 I mean, I'm pretty sure Bloomsbury still sells copies of the script for Bank Robbery, so that's one way to experience it. As for the original show, it has a bit of an improv aspect to it, so I don't think a proshot of it would harm it too much, if it were released while the stage versions are still running.
Right there with you. It's tough to be a musical theater fan anywhere but a major world city, and even then if you're not in NYC or London you're missing out. If people want musical theater to survive as a medium it *must* become more accessible.
As someone who has always had a passion for musical theater but being from a small town with very limited access to even semi professional theaters I gained all my knowledge from “slime tutorials”. And a few of my grandparents old VHS Tapes. My first show live was my senior year in high school when I flew to NYC for one day and I relive that day everyday. Still 10 years later. Now I watch every pro shot I can get my hands on and will go to any show within 10 hours of me that I can. Broadway HD is my lifesaver. The Bonnie and Clyde pro shot was my most anticipated and you better bet I bought unlimited access to it and will see it if it goes on tour in the us or Broadway
I have been waiting for the Bonnie and Clyde proshot for so long! I too was in the audience - I could even hear the camera operator in the box picking which camera angle they were moving to next. The world needs to see it! Ive asked a few times on their twitter but no luck.
Shows get recorded for archives as well - I've seen a couple of shows where there's been filming going on and been told "No, just for the archives, not public". One of those times was kinda - well, the tech to my untrained eye looked like decent hobbyist kit, but another was definitely professional shot! I was also at the Rocky Horror recording with David Bedella, that was a lot of camera crew from my angle! Producers need to... *ahem* update their outlook on the value of proshot recordings! The success and longevity of the shows where recordings are easily available speaks for itself, a good recording encourages sales not suppresses them! My favourite proshot DVD that I treasure is Boy George's Taboo - it feels like a licensed bootleg, puts you right into the immersive environment. It wouldn't work for all shows but one with no fourth wall like Taboo, it's amazing. Plus the cast was fantastic, the music is wonderful... It was the kind of show that you almost had to experience in person, but the pro-shot makes a very good second! Also, I may be showing my age, but this is the kind of topic where I REALLY value physical media! I want DVDs! I want to hold the show in my hands and know I can watch it again whenever I want, not held to ransom by streaming services!
I remember the news of the Bonnie & Clyde recording and I was eagerly waiting for its release, I hope it happens one day. I am so thankful for ProShots, they've been the way to discover amazing shows I wouldn't have known from any other way. I watch the incredible Come From Away one on Apple TV and put that show at the top of my list for my following trip to London. Hadn't it been for the video, I'm sure I wouln't even have considered it!
The Mr. Saturday Night proshot was released -- I watched it a while ago on Broadway HD. (edit: I just checked, and at least in the US, and accessing BroadwayHD through Amazon, it's still there.) I really wish they'd release the Between the Lines proshot -- I loved that show.
If you look on Arielle Jacobs' TH-cam page, she posted a bunch of videos for many of the songs from Between the Line, and the videos with them definitely use clips from the proshot. (They're not the same as the promotional footage of some of those same songs that was released while the show was still running -- all of that footage was filmed with a swing playing Allie, but the videos that she posted have the principal cast.) I'd definitely recommend watching the video for "A Whole New Story." I saw that show shortly after I watched your reaction video to the Cinderella concept album, and I remember thinking, "This is what he meant with that comment about 'I want to go on a journey' in that video." It's just a great example of character development through a song, and Arielle, who had been playing that character in workshops for something like five years by that point, portrays that brilliantly. (She was probably a bit too old to play a teenager by the time it got to Off-Broadway -- you saw her as Imelda Marcos about a year later -- but I'm glad that they kept her in the show anyway, because she was fantastic in that role.)
I cannot stress how much I NEED Pro-Shots of plays and musicals, especially when going to London/NYC/seeing the tours is not an option. I do believe the momentum for Pro-Shot releases dropped after the troubled recording of Diana on Netflix and the closure of Come From Away but I hope Waitress and TLBT might help it gain momentum again. I think another problem is the marketing of it, streaming platforms don't usually go as hard on marketing as cinematic releases do, so unless you're already aware of it, you probably won't notice it happening, it also ties to the whole Mean Girls musical movie thing and how people are usually a lot colder towards musicals.
OMG the CATS VHS!!! I took it out of my library & watched it so much. It was replaced like 6 times. I very much take blame for that, even if it's not my fault.
I agree that proshots are so important. My passion for musical theater was born with seeing AVPM on youtube (even before I had a Wicked phase lol) and Starkid Productions remains one of my favourite groups because they make their shows so widely available with their proshots. Proshots show you a piece of the theater experience that helps convince audiences to give the live experience a try - particularly in this day and age of streaming and the ease of distribution with movies
It's so bizarre that West End and Broadway are so concerned about proshots stopping people from going to see the live performances when in Europe the shows that have proshots who came out on dvd (and sometimes were on prime time on national tv) have been touring with sold out shows for decades. Roméo et Juliette de la haine à l'amour, Notre Dame de Paris, Elisabeth das Musical...
There used to be talk about a Spring Awakening proshot, but I never heard about it being released. I've googled it now and apparently it did have a run in cinemas in the UK last year, but I wish it could be watched for us outside of the UK or people who might have seen it then and want to re-watched it.
So I went to the test/pre screening for the Jersey Boys proshot (this might have been the only screening ever) and it was FANTASTIC. Nick Jonas was actually there and did a whole speech (I was in the front row so it was amazing) and he seemed super excited for it to come out. The director also did a speech and kinda talked about the whole process. This was in April 2022... it literally reenters my mind every couple months because I'm so confused as to what happened. I feel very lucky to be one of the less than 100 that got to see it though.
I was at the Six proshot in the front row (was moved from my original seat as production needed to set up a camera where I was sat, and it was such an electric experience that I hope eventually gets seen. The Bonnie and Clyde concert makes me so curious about all the other concerts I've attended which had notices they were being filmed (Audra McDonald at the Palladium, Light in the Piazza, Sunset Boulevard at the Royal Albert Hall) but have never seen for heard the light of day.
This isn't super useful information, but I was at Jeremy Jordan's concert at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 2022, and the actress from the Bonnie & Clyde concert showed up and they did a few songs, and if I remember correctly Jeremy said something about the proshot and how he really hoped we'd be able to see it soon but that he didn't know what was happening with it or why it's taking so long. Evidently, 'soon' did not happen lol. Sidenote: this concert was filmed as well, and I really want to see that recording because it was INCREDIBLE
Proshots make so much sense because people can discover a show and fall in love with it, I watched Newsies on Disney plus during Covid and fell in love with the show and knew I had to go see it when it came to London. I would never have done that without the proshot! And so many people don’t have access to the west end or broadway so having recordings opens it up to a wider audience
I was at one of the two performances of Between the Lines that was filmed. The director came on stage before the show telling us they're filming a proshot.
Bonnie and Clyde in concert, as far as I’m aware, is with a production company waiting for distribution. Jeremy Jordan mentioned them in his Royal Drury Lane concert in 2022, as they were also recording the concert, and made a comment such as “we’re still waiting for them to get Bonnie and Clyde out, but we needed them to record this concert” jokingly
My heart is broken that they didn't do a proshot of the revival of Parade. Ben was so spectacular as was Michaela and the rest of the cast. The whole wonderful production had a really important story to tell. Why do many of these not-as-highly-rated shows get one and not this gem? So sad.
I saw Waitress the Musical the proshot this year. It was released in the cinemas for very brief time and the only reason I heard about it was because I subcribe to the Providence, RI theater newsletter. Loved the show, immediately bought the cast album afterward.
I'm quite sad that Frozen was not filmed earlier....mostly because Stephanie McKeon's Anna needs to be seen and preserved. As outstanding as Samantha Barks is....and she is.....Stephanie is Anna through and through. It's like Anna literally stepped out of the movie....she carries that entire show from start to finish...she's beautiful, funny and has that classic Disney quality. I was lucky to see her twice back in 2022. I also have a very personal attachment to that original cast....it was the very last show my beautiful Mum and I would see in London together 💔😢🕊...we didn't know it at the time. 😞 I look forward to seeing the recording when it is released....I have heard really good things about the new cast.....but my heart will always have a special place for the original and the memories made. 💙❄️✨️
I feel lucky to be there for her last performance. I didn't even know that would be her last one but I'm glad I saw it. I also wish it had been filmed earlier
I just saw Frozen two days ago with Samantha Barks as Elsa and Laura Dawkes as Anna, and what you're saying about Stephanie is exactly how I felt about Laura. She was absolutely brilliant, genuinely like the animated character come to life!
I'm glad to hear you talk about this. Aladdin was the one I was most curious about. It was the first musical I ever saw and I saw it because it was going away. I was a bit ignorant back then and didn't really appreciate it. I'd really love to go back and see it again now that I'm more aware of how musicals are and I was so happy when I heard about the proshot. I'm so confused what's going on with it though. It's been 5 years since they filmed it. I heard that they might be releasing it for the 30th anniversary of the film but that was 2 years ago. That's interesting what you said about the casting. I was wondering if it had anything to do with Jade Ewen suing Disney and saying that her vocal cords were damaged because of the show. It sucks if we never see it because Jonathan Freeman, the original voice of Jafar in the movie, came to London for the proshot.
A few years back saw Sheridan Smith in Funny Girl. Enjoyed so much deliberately went to the final show of the entire tour….has been shown on Sky Arts (once) but since then never seen it…..thank God I recorded the one Sky Arts transmission….. still on hard drive years later !
Omg yes, this is very interesting! I would be very excited to see Emojiland in particular the most of these. I am still looking forward to seeing the Waitress proshot as I haven't seen this yet, if it's readily available and I've just missed it someone let me know.
It is available, and was last fall, but at least then, it was pretty pricey for a digital rental. Looking again, it’s gone down to $7CAD for a digital rental, $19 digital buy on AppleTV (I’m pretty sure it was over $15 for the rental when I first checked).
The thing is, The Color Purple, like West Side Story, had to deal with people thinking of it as a remake of a classic and, sight unseen, they went 'meh' about the very idea. WSS was so beautiful. It should've been taken more seriously even with Ansel Elgort (who was miscast even if he wasn't a creeper). Mean Girls' marketing hid that it was a musical so well it inspired boos when people figured it out in the theater. Not sure how under a rock they were, but they were. How rude to vocalize your disgust in that situation and for being disgusted with musicals in the first place.
I remember I was in the audience for the filming of Newsies at Wembley. I'm still hoping it'll be released, it would make sense for it to be on Disney+
I worked as a PA on the Jersey Boys pro-shot when it filmed in Cleveland in 2021. It was such an incredible production with an amazing cast in addition to Nick so I really hope it gets released eventually!
I am expecting Frozen after it has closed in the West End… Mr Saturday Night is on Broadway HD - I have watched it! Do you know Ride (Charing Cross) is also available on Broadway On Demand?
Saw the entire Between The Lines proshot at BroadwayCon last year. It was shown in a conference room at the Marriott Marquis and there was a panel with the cast and creatives after. I uploaded my video from the panel on TH-cam.
In the summer there was also a few days of special Six tickets in NYC, unclear if it was a proshot of the NYC version, but they advertised it as special performances with cameras
That’s enlightening! Been waiting for Aladdin… As a matter of fact, there’s also an OBC pro shot of Book of Mormon waiting somewhere. Josh Gad confirmed that years ago.
This is one thing the national theatre does so right like I am so incredibly grateful for the amount of proshots they film and release! I wish it was more common with musicals and not just plays
The play that goes wrong is easily one of the my favorite Broadway shows, I had the chance to see in New York back in January of 2022 and it was the most funny show I have ever seen in my life, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed that much. It was so good. I hope one day there will be a pro-shot of it. Honestly all plays and musicals should have a pro shot to make it accessible for the people who won’t be able to go see these plays and shows
Six was filmed on the London pride weekend of 2022. Wish it would come out cuz I went! The Edward scissorhands ballet was also filmed in Cardiff about a month ago
I was at both Aladdin in 2019 and SIX in 2022! Very cool experience both times. Aladdin filmed their pro-shot after the final public performance with a mix of cast from around the world. SIX filmed the week after the pro-shot, across four days as i went to a show on the Wednesday, where the public ballot was for the end of the week. Very excited to see both in the future.
I'm so glad that The Little Big Things got filmed and will be able to reach a lot more people. I would have liked a pro-shot of Parade and Merrily We Roll Along as not able to get to Broadway really.
If we want to see a more demographically, culturally and geographically diverse generation of creators working in music theater we’ve GOT to give them access to learn from and be inspired by what others are creating! This is important to the future of the art form.
When I booked tickets to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat at the London Palladium in 2021 (the one with Jason Donovan and Linzi Hateley coming back to play Pharaoh and the Narrator) we just so happened to book a night when they were both performing. When we got to the theatre, we were told the seats we booked through TodayTix weren’t actually available because they were filming and that’s where the cameras were. We got way better seats than we booked as compensation but I never found out what the filming was for. When I came back a few weeks later to see it again with other people I asked the staff but they said they didn’t know what I was talking about. Maybe it was a proshot to celebrate the returning performers? I’ve been dying of curiosity ever since then!
Slight plea, what show have proshot out ther that you guys recommended, personally I have only seen the Heather and Legally Blonde proshot. PS: please tell me that platform the proshots are on as well......
It was the week after for Six! We went to Hampton Court and due to a few issues we got invited to the filming of the Pro-Shot which was really interesting to see! I was wondering where it was, feels like forever ago it was filmed!
The only things "extra" that wasn't mentioned is that rumor was Disney is the one to have the rights to Between The Lines. With them structuring Disney+ with Hulu content who knows what their plan is but I feel it's something they will dust off the shelf just a matter of when. I feel Frozen won't be released until maybe a bit closer to Frozen 3 to help fill the gap & also hold off until it's done touring the US. Girl From The North Country I feel will depend on the film as to who releases it but I think it's going to be a BroadwayHD pick up if I had to guess. HBO & Jersey Boys I feel may be a lost cause & that scares me because it's something that would have done very well for them. Six is still a mega blockbuster so I feel they locked in the filming with the original Queens just to have it done & won't touch it for at least a few years.
Putting on an invisible hat ! Fantastic!…..Does remind me of the film “The Three Amigos” where they shoot the invisible swordsman and then have a debate….how was I meant to know where he was !
I remember in a podcast interview Leslie Kritzer revealed that they had been about to film a Beetlejuice pro-shot but COVID lockdowns stopped it. Then when the show came back the producers said they weren’t planning on it
Ooooh, one I haven't seen mentioned here yet, I seem to remember looking at tickets for Guys and Dolls at the Bridge, and seeing a note on one of the nights that that performance would be filmed. Given the Bridge's close association with NT Live, I think it's a good bet it ends up there sometime after that production closes (so probably next year?)
Of those listed, I'd be most keen to see Bonnie and Clyde. Give it to us!! But on a related note: did you watch the Curve Theatre production of Sunset Boulevard that was streamed during pandemic lockdowns? I really enjoyed it and would love to rewatch it. Where did that go?
Mr. Saturday Night was released on the Broadway HD Streaming Platform. It's very good. The Emojiland was also released on that platform for a time - as I didn't like the show I didn't watch it. PS Just wanted to let you know how much I love your videos. Your passion for theatre is so refreshing and infectious! Keep up the good work! I only wish I was closer to London so that I could come see you live! Good luck with that as well. I've been a professional performer my entire life and was lucky enough to study at CalArts & AMDA NY (a million years ago - well the 80s). I spent my 20s in NYC and go back all the time as I'm a Tony voter - so I must. Heheheeh. Hugs to Aaron. M'wah - M. 💋❤
I was in the audience for Girl from the north country! They filmed the whole show and did some audience reaction shots as well, but provided no information on release
Perhaps this was already mentioned, but the wonderful "Ragtime" reunion concert (you were there, MickeyJo) last year at the Minskoff was filmed and was about to be exhibited in movie theaters when the showings were suddenly cancelled. And is the Almeida "Spring Awakening" proshot associated with NT Live? Did "Life of Pi" get a proshot? Isn't there a Chicago concert of "Children of Eden? an Audra in London concert? Enjoy your Broadway return.
I have no idea if this proshot is coming of this but I was at a performance of spitting image in the summer of last year and there were signs saying the show would be recorded and there were cameras in the circle
I saw Operation Mincemeat on December 18th and there were camera crews in both boxes filming the show. Now, I believe this was just for b-roll footage for the 2-minute documentary that appeared on the Big Night of Musicals TV show in January. HOWEVER....... footage of the entire show could well be out there
I've wondered this for years after finding out my beloved Bend It Like Beckham was filmed. I've since found out another show I'm really attached to is in an archive and have been trying for yrs to get to see it
I remember seeing IG stories from some previous Queens in February attending a private 'cast and crew preview screening' - I thought (and hope!) this may be something pro-shot related...
It's not in quite the same league, but we went to Audra McDonald's Concert at the London Palladium a few years back and they where professionally recording that for release, but we've barely heard anything about that, which is a real shame because she was amazing (no big surprise).
I can one up cats, I watch the love never dies proshot and that kinda got me into musicals because I was so bemused by it I had to go immediately watch the phantom proshot 😭
As someone who is a theatre fan & a Jonas brothers fan(Nick is how I became a fan of theatre tbh) I've been waiting for an update on when Jersey Boys is coming. I met Andy Karl in Melbourne in Feb after Groundhog Day but I blanked and forgot to mention/ask about it😂 I know a few Jonas brother fans got to see jersey boys pro shot as Nick invited some fans but yeah they have only said it's great no actual spoilers or anything big I don't know how many saw it but probably only a hand full of people. This was like 2 years ago maybe. I tweet about this pro shot every few weeks😂
There was a partial live audience with a blue screen for more to be added in later (this was back when they were very strict about covid vaccinations). The JB pro shot is my white whale! So many great alumni in it and even Michael Urie as Bob Crewe. The fact that both Jonas and Urie (names known to non-theatre people) are in it and yet it still hovers in the ether is WILD to me.
I really hope they bring out the Six Proshot soon! That was around the time I discovered Six and wanted to go to Hampton Court but couldn't afford it. Really wanna see the original cast perform together!
It makes my blood boil every time when I think about these not being released yet also can you dk a video about the colour purple I feel like no one takwled about iy
I’ve been checking on the jersey boys proshot since it’s been announced, All I hope is that the filmed version was not scrapped just release the thing already!
I'm not a BroadwayHD subscriber right now but I've definitely watched Mr Saturday Night on there. Shoshana Bean really carried that show. BHD did a livestreamed pro-shot of She Loves Me, too, and I really hoped that would've started a trend. Or that the NY Public Library would put their theater on tape collection online. I think some people might be afraid people won't go out to see shows if they can already access it at home, but there are so many worn-out of VHS tapes I went through that made me want to go see live theater. I hope they release all of these! I'll be seated.
I think that I saw cameras when I was watching "Stephen Sondheim's Friends" in London. I don't know if it was only for the trailer, but it looked more like a proshot
I know that there was recently a screening of the Six proshot, because a lot of former cast members shared that they were there. So hopefully it won't be too long until it's released. I am gutted about Aladdin, because i love the show but i wouldn't be mad if they refilmed a proshot with the current UK tour cast. I'd love to see proshots of Book of Mormon (which was supposedly filmed with the OBC), Fantastically Great Women and Cruel Intentions, but i doubt the last 2 would get filmed anytime soon, as they are still relatively small shows
A few weeks ago the og sox cast posted a picture in front of a large screen with the six logo so I believe this was a private screening; could six proshot coincide with why am I so single?
The pro shot I was most glad to be able to watch was Lazarus because when I was in the theatre the rake was so terrible I couldn’t see a thing 😂. I also really liked getting to see the pro shot of The Grinning Man. Both of those were shown for a cost at some point during Covid.
nick winston recently replied to my tweet about the bonnie & clyde concert and he said it was coming soon, also jeremy teased on his insta stories that it might be coming soon
For Broadway specifically, I’ve heard somewhere that every show is recorded professionally, but they are only allowed to be watched one time by like super specific people. Is this true?
Every show is recorded for archival purposes - but not in a cinemeatic way, mostly just a single camera pointed straight at the stage. You are able to watch them at NY public library under some conditions. Proshots are something entirely different and wax more expensive, since theyre shot with multiple cameras over multiple days in a cinematic way, meanwhile archival recordings are not as sophisticated and really not more than a straight up recording

As soon as you said HBO I went OH NO
I remember the news of the Bonnie & Clyde recording and I was eagerly waiting for its release, I hope it happens one day.
(edit: I just checked, and at least in the US, and accessing BroadwayHD through Amazon, it's still there.)
I really wish they'd release the Between the Lines proshot -- I loved that show.
If you look on Arielle Jacobs' TH-cam page, she posted a bunch of videos for many of the songs from Between the Line, and the videos with them definitely use clips from the proshot. (They're not the same as the promotional footage of some of those same songs that was released while the show was still running -- all of that footage was filmed with a swing playing Allie, but the videos that she posted have the principal cast.)
I'd definitely recommend watching the video for "A Whole New Story." I saw that show shortly after I watched your reaction video to the Cinderella concept album, and I remember thinking, "This is what he meant with that comment about 'I want to go on a journey' in that video." It's just a great example of character development through a song, and Arielle, who had been playing that character in workshops for something like five years by that point, portrays that brilliantly. (She was probably a bit too old to play a teenager by the time it got to Off-Broadway -- you saw her as Imelda Marcos about a year later -- but I'm glad that they kept her in the show anyway, because she was fantastic in that role.)
Thanks. Good tip.
Can confirm, I watched Mr. Saturday Night on Broadway HD.
I dream of a Next To Normal proshot with the current West End cast
I would love that and a cast recording!
they filmed one! it'll apparently be released next spring on apple tv
Diana would have closed earlier without the pro-shot imo,
OMG the CATS VHS!!!
Did they ever hint out a release date?
@@kaijuclash5480 if I remember right they said July 2022 at the time but obviously that did not happen lol
I wish they would do a proshot of Operation Mincemeat with the original cast before they move on
Pro-shot so much better than movies. Pity not alway available on DVD
Bonnie and Clyde currently has a release date on the Film Distributors Association release schedule. According to that, it's July the 4th!
The director came on stage before the show telling us they're filming a proshot.
i’d give my life for a beetlejuice proshot with alex brightman - i wish they had done it with the full original cast
As I came onto this video I thought ‘yes I love the cats vhs that definitely got me into theatre’ so I was stoked to hear you mention it 😂
Bonnie and Clyde in concert, as far as I’m aware, is with a production company waiting for distribution.
So sad.
It was amazing. I agree. Why don’t more shows? especially ones that tell true stories, get recorded.
I saw Waitress the Musical the proshot this year. It was released in the cinemas for very brief time and the only reason I heard about it was because I subcribe to the Providence, RI theater newsletter. Loved the show, immediately bought the cast album afterward.
perfect timing video as i was literally just thinking this week where the six pro shot is...
I look forward to seeing the recording when it is released....I have heard really good things about the new cast.....but my heart will always have a special place for the original and the memories made.
@lucaz02 I look forward to seeing Laura if Disney Plus streams the pro-shot. 😀 I hope so! 🙏
Wait, a Between the Lines proshot? I need that immediately!
You can see Mr.Saturday at the Broadway HD platform, at least in Mexico… I saw it there! It’s great
A few years back saw Sheridan Smith in Funny Girl. Enjoyed so much deliberately went to the final show of the entire tour….has been shown on Sky Arts (once) but since then never seen it…..thank God I recorded the one Sky Arts transmission….. still on hard drive years later !
In relation to your missing hat: “Does anyone still wear a hat?”
I'll drink to that 😉
Omg yes, this is very interesting!
I am expecting Frozen after it has closed in the West End…
Mr Saturday Night is on Broadway HD - I have watched it!
Have a great & safe flight today!
Thank you from the airport! 😁
I’d love to see that - although I was spoiled and did see the original cast!
@@jeniboyns lucky you!
Between the lines was great and I was there the night they filmed it! I have often wondered where we could see this show.
I'm off to see the ballet soon. Got cheaper tickets as one of the dancers went to the performing arts college where she is studying.
Funny seeing this video 2 weeks later and you were now in the audience when they filmed the proshot for the 50th anniversary of Pippin.
I thought they might have! How exciting!
A sensationally good point, well put!
When you said Cats VHS I was truly transported to 1998 lol
Ii I'll
I wish we had
- Beatlejuice
- Anastasia
- & Juliet
- Frozen
- Back to the Future
As pro shots on streaming.
I could be wrong here, but I believe some cast members from Six teased that the proshot was being released on BBC iplayer?
I think the teaser is for the competition TV show Glow Up and they did the queen's makeup as part of a challenge
Oooh, I was also a Cats VHS at my Grandma's kid (& every place I could find a VHS player too to be honest). We should get group tshirts 🤣
Still waiting for the SIX proshot to be releaded😢
I reckon it could considering its past popularity.
@@StephenUnderwood2004 yeah they might be saving it for a TV premiere as a special edition or something
Started watching this and got a notification that the Six Pro-shot was getting released by Universal 😭 Manifestion is real
I've since found out another show I'm really attached to is in an archive and have been trying for yrs to get to see it
Beetlejuice was going to film a proshot but the pandemic happened and it never got filmed 😔
They actually did film it after it closed, Alex timbers tweeted a hint at it when it closed
@@rebeccakravitz7711 thats false, it never happened sadly
I remember seeing IG stories from some previous Queens in February attending a private 'cast and crew preview screening' - I thought (and hope!) this may be something pro-shot related...
i couldn’t get time off for the bonnie and clyde concert so i so desperately hope it does get released.
I was there at the Six proshot recording and it was a vibe :)))
I am excited for the Frozen proshot. The tour is ending and there is still no confirmation on a UK tour
I would be shocked if we didn't get a UK Tour - I'd heard the set was too big but after seeing the version in Hamburg, they could 100% tour that.
@@tylerscrivner7784 The Australian tour set is going to the Dutch production that starts next month
@@Wiilleemmm Oh really? Good for them! I'm glad that set is being reused in another production.
I’m most excited for Bonnie & Clyde - would love to see it with the cast too!!
Not a musical but for those in uk reading this before 28th April 2024, BBC4 is airing the filmed version of the play “Good” that stared David Tennant.
As someone who is a theatre fan & a Jonas brothers fan(Nick is how I became a fan of theatre tbh) I've been waiting for an update on when Jersey Boys is coming. I met Andy Karl in Melbourne in Feb after Groundhog Day but I blanked and forgot to mention/ask about it😂
I know a few Jonas brother fans got to see jersey boys pro shot as Nick invited some fans but yeah they have only said it's great no actual spoilers or anything big I don't know how many saw it but probably only a hand full of people.
I need the Between the Lines proshot!!!
I have also heard rumor that the OG Broadway cast of ‘A Strange Loop’ was filmed…
I really hope they bring out the Six Proshot soon! That was around the time I discovered Six and wanted to go to Hampton Court but couldn't afford it. Really wanna see the original cast perform together!
The Aladdin proshot is on IMDB and set To be released in 2027
Why do they wait so long to release these? Also are you sure it’s 100% confirmed by Disney as well?
I’ve been patiently waiting for the Almeida Spring Awakening to air in North America!
They are mostly recorded for reference reasons and not necessarily TV quality.
Ragtime pro shot was promoted to air in US theaters in march then cancelled. What happened with that?
