    Join Fy Nyth on social media - mewe.com/i/fynyth ! If you are new to my channel and Fy Nyth (Welsh for "My Nest") in general, welcome! I'm Ariel. Along with my husband Clay, our dogs, cats, bees, and some poultry, we live in a tiny house on wheels in the mountains of western Wyoming and are working on setting into our own new little homestead. I've been living this lifestyle since 2014 and my wonderful partner has joined me more recently. What will you find if you follow the channel and watch the videos?
    Real life here. I try to show the good and the bad. The ups and the downs. What works, and what doesn't. The parts I love (most of it!), and the things that suck. Not just the showroom version of a tiny house, but everyday life in a tiny house. Not just the romantic idea of "homesteading" or off grid life, but the everyday details of this lifestyle. We split wood for heat, fill the water tank from a gravity fed spring, and attempt to grow as much of our own food as possible between the weather and wildlife here. I hope to help others learn from mistakes and make life just a little easier for anyone else interested in pursuing a similar lifestyle.
    We live in a somewhat harsh and cold climate, but enjoy the stunning scenery and wildlife that we are surrounded by on a daily basis. You'll also see videos of the nature and wildlife around my home. If you are interested in my photography or purchasing a photo, I'd love if you follow that over at mewe.com/join/... or ArielCelestePhotography.zenfolio.com!

    Nobody can ever accuse you of having a mundane life….What a hoot this whole “worst winter on record” escapade has been for the two of you! (of course, easy for me to say as I sit comfortably in my recliner enjoying every single video you make 😁).

    Yes, you have a beautiful new stove. I share your attitude of making things work and adjusting when life throws a monkey wrench. So interested in your house plans. Summer will be lots of fun. All the best to you and Clay and those you love.

    Can probably put this in the “no-good-deed-goes-unpunished file.” ;)
    But guessing you would probably do it again knowing what was coming - to help your brother and lessen consumption in the world. But maybe not. Maybe you would have given him that tent stove until your new one was hooked up. Lol. Either way you guys figured it out, pushed through, and made it work.
    Which is why we all enjoy your channel so much. Common sense, hard work, and good cheer in a media landscape that only spotlights the worst of the worst in the world.

    Beautiful little stove, excellent choice Ariel. Now that I have moved into the Casita, I miss my wood stove but propane is a bit more convenient. As you say, propane is easy and safe for most anyone, small wood stoves have an education curve.

    I am amazed at your brain Ariel and the organized way you go at each video. I have a vision impairment which actually affects how I process what I hear. If someone speaks fast and my eyes are tired or under pressure then I will not get much out of listening but yahoo! TH-cam has a speed adjuster! Sometimes though, I just pause the video and let things "sink in" lol real life situations are much harder. I love your style and will adjust however I can to be a tiny part of your audience. Love the new stove and it will certainly be better for novices to keep warm!

    Why didn’t you use the Suburban propane heater that was built into the tiny as it is vented outside.

    • @FyNyth
      @FyNyth  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It draws way too much power which is why it's almost never been used from day one. I have to run the generator pretty much all the time if that is turned on. Also it does not really keep the house comfortably warm. Enough to not freeze, but not to be comfortable. And it broke the first winter, was fixed, broke again the next year even though it was only used and handful of times and was never fixed because in my situation it's just not useful for anything. I'm sure if you have the propane to run one 24/7 and a massive amount of power available, they can work well.

  • @moya3180

    What a nuisance for you. I was hoping you'd say that your new stove would be vented out. My friend uses a portable propane gas fire and her house is dripping wet. I've shown her the oil filled radiators which she is going to get. Looking forward to seeing the new stove in place.

    You may address this, what about moisture from propane heat?

  • @jm-bv1wh
    @jm-bv1wh ปีที่แล้ว

    The stove sure isn't inexpensive at $2,100, especially since it's less than 1000 BTUs. I guess you're paying for the looks and the cast iron/soapstone construction. And the thermostatic control adds cost. Hoping that it needs your expectations. Please give us an update on it next winter.

  • @jamiec4392

    Hey Ariel, this looks like a great stove solution for our cabin. We have a ventless propane heater and the moisture is a real problem. Would you be willing to share the name of the stove company?

    I’ve heard before that some Propane Stoves cause excessive humidity, do you or anyone in the audience know what is the cause of the moisture in the air???

    • @hosephine1
      @hosephine1 ปีที่แล้ว

      While burning, propane naturally gives off moisture. It always has. If it doesn’t have enough air it also gives off soot. In a larger space the moisture isn’t as noticeable.
