Liz Taylor wore her own jewelry! She was a star! None of the stars nowadays wear their own jewelry! The Duchess of Windsor's stash is still my favourite!
@@JewelleryPleasure I often wondered also. She probably then funded his lifestyle because he spent it all on jewels. There are no stars left of that era. Just actors who have a lot of money and live in huge sometimes badly designed homes. It says a lot.
These are pieces you never forget, once you’ve see them. That Daisy Fellows necklace is stunning. And the fact that the panther Bracelet is still being made, the Ducjess of Windsor really had an eye for jewelry. And then the Patiala? Holy moly. And part of it was found in a second hand shop? Really?! Boy knew how to wear bling. Mysteriously disappeared…And bless Princess Catherine, she does any tiara justice.
I saw the majority of these pieces at the Cartier Exhibition at the National Gallery of Australia in April 2018. Along with lots of other beautiful pieces including Princess Grace of Monaco's ruby and diamond pieces and Elizabeth Taylors Mike Todd Ruby necklace. The Nizam of Hyderabad necklace is a lot smaller than expected. All the pieces in this video are gorgeous in their own right. The Patalia necklace now has a large citrine as the centre piece. It also looks very heavy. Thank you for the video.
Everything the Cartier house has produced since Louis François Cartier since 1847 is of unparalleled splendour. But my favourite pieces are the Tutti Frutti.
Cartier makes breathtaking jewelry--and I was lucky to see an exhibition at the San Francisco Legion of Honor Art Museum in late 2009 - early 2010. Unfortunately for that exhibition, earlier in 2009 the museum ran an exhibit named "Artistic Luxury: Faberge, Tiffany, Lalique" I say unfortunately because the design of the Cartier pieces did not measure up to the design work of the other three. The pieces from Faberge, etc., were creative, imaginative, elegant. and restrained. The Cartier show items were stunning, but seemed to depend more on carat count than on design for their impact. I realize it comes down to personal taste--I really wanted to enjoy the Cartier show, but the comparison really killed it for me. The difference between Audrey Hepburn and Kim Kardashian I'm sorry to say.
To be honest, in context of Cartier best jewellery, for me, is not the top1. BUT, if we talk about the best rings in the world, I agree with you, the Grace Kelly ring will be in the top
Those pieces are stunning. I love jewelry. All jewelry. I am lucky enough to own a Cartier bracelet that I inherited from my grandmother. She inherited from her Aunt who was a Broadway star. Marilyn Miller was her name. It is 3 strands of jade beads with a platinum clasp that has diamonds paved (spelling might be incorrect) into it and where the strands of beads connect to is a round piece with diamonds. It is beautiful. My grandmother used to wear it all the time. Even to the grocery store. She loved her Aunt Marilyn and called her Lump. She was named after her. I miss my grandmother. I let my daughter in law wear it as her something borrowed for her wedding. The jade matched her bridesmaids dresses. Now I wear it once in a blue moon as I don’t go anywhere as I am pretty much homebound. So once in a while I wear it to the doctors office. I say why not. I did not realize Grace Kelly wore her actual engagement ring for the movie High Society. What a beautiful Diamond. I loved the scene when she steamed it with her breath and rubbed it on the silk pillow.
The jewelry is all beautiful but at least a couple if the pieces also cover up neck lines & areas where the wearer might have had excess exposure to the sun.
👋 Hi...Also, How come the Tutti Frutti necklace didn't stay in the British Royal Family? Or become Property of The Crown? Or be inherited by her daughter in law Queen Mary and reading and watching videos of Queen Mary she seems to have had a habit of "collecting" treasured jewelry. I know you said Cartier was inspired by Queen Alexandra's commission and later expanded it to an entire collection but do you know what became of her Tutti Frutti Collier specifically?
It might be little bit complicated to me to explain. Actually, Queen Alexandra commissioned Cartier to create something in "Indian Style" and during that creation Cartier was inspired by that Indian style and in future that inspiration was used for creation the Tutti Fruity collection, particularly for Daisy Fellowes necklace. Hence, the Queen Alexandra's "Indian Style" necklace is still in Royal collection (I hope). Thanks for you comments by the way :)
For a man to wear an OSTENTATIOUS NECKLACE like that, I'm sorry, but it's a BIT FRUITY!!!! Grace Kelly's ring was INCREDIBLE, and I LOVED the Ruby and Diamond Necklace, just NOT ON JANE FONDA, YUCK!!!!
Not necessarily, the family had money problems because the maharaja who commissioned the necklace (Bhupinder Singh) also had an excessive personal life (10 wives, multiple concubines, 52 children).
Gorgeous Jewelry Cartier symbol of Elegance 🌹
Bravo for all the Artisan and Artists who created these Masterpieces of fine arts and beauty, and Vivat for the Collectors.
Stunning collections indeed.🤯🤯🤯🤯
Sabia que saldrían las de María Félix! Amo a la Doña!

The interesting thing, where Richard Burton get all this money to buy such amount of jewellery to Liz?

Yes, it's a pity that Patiala now is actually just a replica, without original stones...

The Grace Kelly ring is my favorite. And, of course, it is worn by such a perfectly beautiful woman.

Wow! It's great to have something valuable as Cartier bracelet left by grandmother. And your example also has a rich history!

Jane Fonda looked spectacular in that Cartier necklace!
María Félix 🌹
*eyes grow as big as saucers* Is that the infamous Nizam of Hyderabad Necklace in the thumbnail? 😍 ❤️
Yep
Actually it's The Patiala Necklace, and I prefer it more than Nizam of Hyderabad :)

The whole thing spoilt by the narrative

The last R is silent in Cartier.
The narration is a severe crime against pronunciation.

Patiala necklace was actually stolen from INDIA PATIALA
“Mysterious circumstances” sounds very much like “the colonizers stole it” 👍🏽
