You have a jewel of a husband to let you have your pick of wood. It is beautiful❣️. You make it look so easy when your making these projects. Love them all!
He is a jewel for sure. Someday I will make a video showing a little more of his work. He is so talented. And also like an energizer battery. lol Well you have been around him and know that...ha
These all turned out amazing! how lucky for you that your hubby gave you those beautiful pieces of live edge! Can’t wait to see what you make with it! Thanks for sharing!
Lol. That sounds like me and my husband. Your gonna throw that away? Your so wasteful. Lol. He says what you need it for? I may not need it but my crafting heart wants it. ❤😂 You never know when I might need it. 😊
Well...I went to our dumpster to throw out some limbs I had cut off and low and behold there was a large spool of rope in it. Guess who had to get it right back out and put it in my stash...lol
Super cute stuff!!! I made 3 firecrackers at different heights a few years ago. I drilled a hole in the top and stuffed one end of the rope into them. I think the tallest one was roughly 2 feet then the other 2 were smaller. Your husband is a lot like mine. Loves to do wood work and brings me the scraps 😊
Oh Sandy isn't it wonderful to have a husband like ours, they bring us scrap wood instead of flowers. LOL And I say that with true love , because we love wood to be crafty with. I hope you can show us a picture of the bank woodwork your husband created. I am so enjoying watching your video's and great projects. I think the flag looked great that you hung on the wagon wheel. I know it wasn't what you had originally planned, but you turned a lemon into a jewel. Where do you sell your items? I can't wiat to watch another one of your video's. Blessings ~~
I need to teach him how to take pictures with his phone. Maybe sometime I will make it into that little bank just to see what he did. You are right about flowers, I would rather have wood any day and he knows just that. Makes me smile every time he brings it home.
I love those live edge boards, so beautiful! Your husband has quite the stash! Love how your flag turned out and it looked beautiful on the old wagon wheel. Love the Americana decor! Maybe we could collaborate sometime, you can send me a email if your interested ❤
Thank you Melanie! He just goes into the fields to get the cedar. There was a large wild fire about 5 years ago and it took out a lot of trees. Left them all over. Plus it helps that he has a wood mill and the planer. Other wise the trees would just be piled up and burned.
I made some of the steel wool and vinegar mixture, and when I use it it is real reddish, rusty brown color. How do you get yours to be such a dirty gray?
What I am using now is a dark rusty color but when I put it on the wood it turns the wood a grayish color. Also I started another batch and it is not doing what my first batch did. I’m going to get some 0000 steel wool and try it. The first time I just grabbed a piece I had laying around and it worked great. Not sure why my last batch is looking how you explained yours looking. I have to figure it out because I absolutely love using it on my wood! I’ll try to remember to show my last batch on a video. Maybe someone else can give us an answer.
Love all of your patriotic projects! What a sweet man your husband is to see what you wanted from his stash. Very nice boards.
Thank you Shelly! My husband is a gem for sure.

Thank you Becky! I love making the firecrackers. I’ll bet yours were really cute. I could see some taller ones on my porch!
I always get excited and inspired when I see a video of yours up....I think I need to do something with my wood after the graduation party is over.
I think I'm going to do your cow idea next. We will see how it turns out. Might look a little goofy...lol
