I’m a spurs fan and the only reason I can think of why He rejected Barca is because he wants to play for real and Tottenham is the stepping stone. Cause if he signed for Barca it’s kinda committed a football sin to switch from one club to the other. This kid like van der ven will both play for real in the future but let’s enjoy them now in spurs kits.
He decided to join Tottenham Hotspur rather than Barcelona because he was offered more money and assurances of regular playing time in Tottenham's first team. At Tottenham, he will be able to earn higher wages and avoid sitting on the bench behind other upcoming stars. "never win a trophy" is just a twitter insult. like it or not spurs are a big club with trophies, history and success as well and to teenagers a big attraction. Hungry players dont care about social media insults they feel they can win trophies here and make history
He never turned down Barcelona. He was already going to Tottenham. He & his agent just used Barcelona to get more money out of Tottenham. The agent got a big bonus, the player got more money, his family & even the club that he came from got more money than what was originally offered by Tottenham. These are the facts!!
