It never occurred to me until now to use bombs strategically to deal more damage. I always thought it was a survival tool.

Bombs (especially deathbombs) in MoF scoring are for point item value, PIV is increased by the bullets that get cancelled by the bomb.
Deathbombs are better because regular bombs also have a PIV penalty while deathbombs don't
