A lot of my favourite studytubers just kind of stop posting when they transition from uni into the workforce and I am left rewatching their old content over and over again - thank you Paige for keeping your channel alive!

She’s living the ultimate dream of all young people in their twenties : A great career ahead, an income to make an independent living and most importantly, a home you could truly live on your own terms without nagging parents or difficult roommates.
It’s rather hard not to be envious of her circumstances.

@kim taylor Here are some tips that helped me:
      1. Plan towards it.
      2. Be frugal and minimal on spending( don’t buy what you don’t need).
      3. Save money towards retirement( Roth IRA/401k).
      4. Build an emergency fund.
      5. Save to invest. This is the most important because it’s a proven way to get richer. Very important to financial success.

Ok I'm so glad I watched this because that style of light in the lounge might solve a lighting problem I'm having. It offers light in multiple directions with one fixture which means it won't be overly bright either but evenly lit!
Also, this was a lovely tour. It seems like it feels like home with the cute personal touches like the pooh bear bowls and mittens and the little doggie doorstop and the photos. The most important thing is that you're settled, comfortable, and safe.

I find UK homes so interesting! We typically have closets or walk in closets as a separate room or space with a door in the US instead of wardrobes. Love your cute little home, Paige! Would love more house content! ❤

Your house is lovely Paige and you’ve made it so cosy. As a fellow short person I put things that don’t get used as often on the top shelves off cupboards. I’ve got a little step stool that folds down flat and can be easily stored for when I need it.

Paige your house is so beautiful! So happy for you! 😍
    A few suggestions:
You can print some images, photos or even quotes and hang on the wall where the stairs are. Fulfills more the wall and looks really nice,
You can add a few plants (natural or artificial) - gives a nice touch to every home
On the bathroom, on the cabinet you can buy storage boxes or even a stroller to put below the water heater so you can easily organize stuff.
One idea is also to paint some walls in the house with a different colour, for example, the wall on the room where the bed is. Paint is not super expensive and gives a new vibe to the room.
But don't need to rush, things are expensive, I've got my house for 2 years and I still have things to buy.. take you time, you're house is amazing!
Enjoy your house and all the success for you!
    Big hug from Portugal 💜😘

  • @BobSmith-pw4jz
    @BobSmith-pw4jz ปีที่แล้ว +3

Congrats on the house, Paige :)! I like the colour of the kitchen and bathroom.
My only suggested change/upgrade would maybe be another railing for the other side of your stairs. Since the stairs are so open, and the current railing looks quite minimal, an additional railing could offer some safety as something to grab onto in case of a stumble/fall (falling from stair #5 down to the wood floor, or even sideways onto the glass coffee table, could be quite unpleasant!)
    All the best!

Home is the comfiest place to be - WP. Keeping a handheld vacuum in the pantry is useful to do small cleanups quickly. The galaxy projector is a cool item! Nice vogue house tour and well done on buying your house and making it a home 👏.

It’s a lovely flat but I would make the wall between the kitchen and living room solid. It wouldn’t cost a lot but would make the downstairs look less like a bedsit. You could put open shelves on either side with plants or interesting things in. Definitely think about a loft conversion as that could become your office and free up the downstairs to be a larger living/dining space.

Your storage heaters more than likely work off Economy 7, which is at a cheaper
night rate. I keep mine at 3 on the input dial, a modest warmth but yes when it gets
very cold, if you turn up to 3.25 and higher...then you start to drink the electricity.
I like to let all the heat out so put output up to 5.
For some odd reason, mine then seem to come back in at 5pm...drawing off the heat
    still in the fire bricks.
One difference to you, I have a wood burner also which is nice and cosy from 3pm.

Nice house. I love the light fixtures. I also like that you have everything you need in the house without too much clutter. Your parents should be so proud of you. You have reused everything you have previously owned and you have bought second hand furniture as well. The chairs from your family friend are very cute. Get a step stool and use all the kitchen cabinets for storage.

I would put in craftsman (off) white paneling in the downstairs living room on the bottom half of the wall. On the top half same color framing to create “plain” (just wall) panels where I would put textured pale pink wallpaper to match your aesthetic
I would also get a custom cut triangular white panel to cover the storage area below the stairs
I would find a way to feature the coffee tables more - those are really nice
I would put a plant in the window next to the dining table. Even a fake plant, if you are not good at watering.
Personally, I would move the desk to the window where the round table is, so that when you sit down on the sofa to relax you won’t be staring at work. Then you could move the tv over and create a more relaxing entertainment area
I would put a rectangular high top table in the kitchen by the dryer and dine there
Bedroom: Lose the bean bag. Only taking up room
Put a dressing table in the bean bag space, so you can sit and do your makeup, and store 90 percent of the items on top of the dresser there
Get a built in wardrobe . It will look much better and give you more storage so you can get that suitcase out of the middle of your room
Storage closets: get some inexpensive shelving units from Amazon or Ikea so you can organize those areas better
Loft conversion: Hold off on that until you get the entire house furnished and decorated to an elevated level. That will add value without disrupting your life
The loft conversion would probably cost more than you think and disrupt your work from home and your studying
Kitchen: Buy a small, foldable step stool to reach top steps. Store in pantry
Spices: Spices are expensive! Buy two staple spices every time you go to the grocery store. Within five trips you will have the basics and won’t feel the pain so much
You can also order much nicer spices on Amazon (at least here in the US). Get a set of matching jars and a label maker to keep your spice storage looking clean and organized
I use / order ground spices as much as possible. I think they are more flavorful
Keep your spices in alphabetical order so you don’t accidentally buy a spice you already own. Definitely speaking from experience on that one 😅😂

    • @CodeDeb
      @CodeDeb ปีที่แล้ว

@Nicky L I’ve ordered some from a farm through Amazon and they are very good quality and a much better price than at the grocery store and we have plenty of ethnic grocery stores in my area
I think they’re a “once every few years” purchase but the costs adds up if you are starting with nearly none
And, yes, I had the time this morning! 😅😂

Hi . I am a cameroonian student completing a bachelor degree of fundamental mathematics this summer from a non acredited university (university of Yaoundé 1), therefore il will start writting my actuarial exams on september and i have some questions for you .
Is it possible toi study well for these exams only with core reading provided by the ifoa and the old exams paper ?
I heard about mentorship and i want to know if i can have a mentor outside my country .
The only ifoa's subject covered during my Bachelor studies is cs1 but i would like to know if it IS possible to merge many curicula (probabilities , descriptives statistics and inferencial statistics taught at 100 and 200 levels) to apply to exemption for this paper .
Is the Bachelor degree+exams enough to be attractive on the job market ? Good Luck for your next exams if you have not already completed your fellowship . Hopefull you will reply to my questions and sorry for my written language, i'm still learning to speak in english

To be honest the house woul not suit me. I am not keen on houses that open staight into the lounge with no downstairs hallway but hey ho its not my house its yours so I guess you like it or you would not haee bought it. I also would not purchae a house with just a shower. Just my two preferences really. I havee never liked showers and only use them on holiday
