Why do you choose PSA over BGS? I'm asking because One Piece cards grade so well that a PSA 10 doesn't add any value. It's the ''standard''. BGS 10 on the other hand adds value and is more rare. I would like your opinion on that. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching. People ask me this all the time but several reasons. I prefer PSA for my collection as I have been grading with them for years but you have to think of grading by factoring in odds as well. PSA I've been gemming around 95% of the cards I am submitting but BGS odds are much less than that for most cards to get a BGS 10 or a BL. You are gambling you are going to get the BL to add value and that is not easy to do and lately I have seen a lot of 9.5s as well for some of the OP05 cards in the pop reports with some cards getting a 9.5 about 70% of the time like in Manga Kids case which sells for about the same amount as a raw card would so you aren't adding value you are losing value. A PSA 10 sells for $1400 and you have an 85% chance to get a PSA 10 so grading with BGS is a gamble for BGS 10s that don't sell for that much more than PSA 10s and that elusive BL which seems to be harder to get now than it was when OP01 came out. I'm sure you can find examples of the opposite but in short I like PSA slabs better and it's safer to grade with them if you want consistent value. I also don't buy into the whole BL mean best card. That is just a fallacy. Buy the card not the grade as there are plenty of PSA 10s that are just as perfect as a BL so I see no reason to pay 3x for a card in a BL slab.
@@rand0mGT Yep which is why I grade with PSA for One Piece because it's typically not a good chance you are going to get a BGS 10 and a very rare chance to get a BL but One Piece is better than most card series with those odds. Plus, I like PSA better so even if it wasn't a value issue I'd still grade with PSA for my PC and I like the PSA Set Registry. Personally I feel like the only cards that look good in a BGS slab are sports cards with autos with dual grades but that is just me.
another good video I was wondering if you have sent any cards with bad cutting and if that has had an effect on the grading? I opened 2 boxes from op03 recently and it seems like alot of the cards had debris on the sides of the cards

@@hatchershits9256 basically BGS ONLY matters if it’s a bgs 10 gold or black label. If it’s anything less than a 10, get psa

Bandai cards are known to have dull blades so the edges are A bit rough on some instances. This is quite common occurrence in one piece specially
@@rand0mGT I have heard that in some cases but I have graded 1000s of One Piece cards and haven't really experienced that at all. Just lucky I guess.
