    If you have holes in water, you can just add clamp before World Position Offset, set Min value as 0, and Max value as 1000

    I found out about your channel just a few days ago and lemme tell you, all of your videos caught my eye, wonderful, underrated content and entertaining videos. You will get far with this quality, I will be around for more :) keep the excellent work, buddy!

    End of tutorial is rushed, without explanations. The plane is invisible and i cannot change the Directions parameters at 8:55, because if i change one it auto changes all others and i cant figure out how to stop it from doing that.
    EDIT : They need to have different names. Direction 1, Direction 2, Direction 3, Direction 4.

    the last part of the tutorial is so rushed! i couldnt follow anything that was happening... real shame because the first part was really well explained!

      I'm sorry, I was doing the last part while abroad at work, and I didn't have much time to finish the video properly :/

    It's awesome that this still works in UE5, but the waves are looking a little blocky, I made sure to subdivide my plane with 100 cuts, what might I be doing wrong?

    Blender is a great software, I never seem to be able to pull off UV maps or Lightmaps with it when using blender and ue4 for projects. I hope other people relate to struggling with lightmaps and UV maps.

    what values did you end up using to make the waves?

    Hello i was just wondering, whenever i turn the parameters to 0 my water disappears, what could be the issues ? Since i added this to my Water Master Material i dont want to have waves just still water in some places.

    How can you add buoncy to that?

    Will these be editable at runtime, so can they get changed during playtime to make smaller/higher waves depending on the day?

    • @marpetakdev
      @marpetakdev  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! It is possible to do that in blueprint.

    I love your videos and wanted to ask, if you know how to make cuttable trees as a mechanic for a game, there are really no good tutorials of it.

    • @Alvgaar
      @Alvgaar ปีที่แล้ว

      mostly because no one has actually made it work well. The only example i know of where the tree cutting is as realistic as possible is "Farming simulator 22" and "Eco"

  • @lordofchaos000
    @lordofchaos000 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have followed your tutorial.however the shader is glitching and is creating holes panning throughout the material. I think it might be related to the world position offset but I am not sure how to solve it.

    • @lordofchaos000
      @lordofchaos000 ปีที่แล้ว

      Update: I have resolved the issue by adding a clamp node with white as max value, and red as min value right before the world position input in the shader.

    • @spilledmymilkshake6352
      @spilledmymilkshake6352 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m having the same issue. When I added a clamp node though I lose the vertex distortion of the plane and it becomes flat again. Could you tell me how you got that clamp node to work?

    • @ubuntu7802
      @ubuntu7802 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@spilledmymilkshake6352 you could just add clamp as he said, but don't use any colors, just set Min value as 0, and Max value as 1000

    • @slocraftus8126
      @slocraftus8126 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      shit i think i got it. you have a 0,0,0 input as a default for your direction. You need to "create" the damned waves first ;D otherwise the whole plane moves just up and down

    the end of the tutorial is a disapointment, you dont explain nothing and ruined the tutorial. i spent 20 mins following you to get inevitably lost at the end. i feel i wasted my time

    • @baardrg
      @baardrg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Threw me off as well, as I'm new to UE, but figured it out. He copies the whole material setup into the new Material Function he created, there you will find the FunctionInput node, which you duplicates and replace all the Parameter nodes with. (All marked with "Parameter") and rename each in accordance to the name of the Parameter node it replaces - The Direction node is the only one you keep as a "Function Input Vector3" under Material Expression Function Input and Input Type, in Details, the rest you change to "Function Input Scalar". Save and then find your new Material Function in Content Browser and drag it into you previous Material (where the whole setup now is deleted) and then continue the tutorial.

      I agree. @Baardrg comment saved me, idk how to make vector3 node until i read this comment.
