Thank you, Dr. Chris. The ancient history of the Alexandrian harbor is always fascinating and wonderfully detailed. Looking forward to your next lecture.

Fun fact. Those old trams are from Copenhagen. When Copenhagen shut down its tram service in 1969 they were taken over by the city of Alexandria. So if you go here, you will see signs in Danish inside them. Just shows how old stuff was made to last.

Wonderful! I always find Alex so beautiful and frustrating. So much inaccessible history. So close yet so far. Thank you for everything you do!

Would land reclamation on what was once ancient Alexandria either help with or impede any future recovery?

The construction of modern Alexandria has very much hindered archaeological research in the last century and a half! More on this in the talk!

Thank you Chris for this city walk around Alexandria with the emphasis on its historic outlines. Perfection would demand you as a tour leader on a daily walk to explore the various locations and speculating on whose footsteps were are walking on. Reminds one on a visit to Rome, Athens etc with a good nose for ancient locations, a speculative mind and a desire to taste real history. Ready to supply some details for a future tour?

Don't understand why and how something so famous as Alexander the Greats tomb could be lost. It must have been destroyed. That's the only explanation that makes sense.
