Well, the older son was gifted with many ability , treated as a nobility and even had a sword that far surpassed Tessaiga within his body. Obviously the father choose to watch after his younger son who wasn't so lucky and had to live like an outcast.
@@gejamugamlatsoomanam7716 Tbh, he most likely married Sesshomaru's mother out of duty instead of love and probably saw Sesshomaru as an heir at first, and then we have Inuyasha, a bastard, whose mother he obviously loved and literally died for (Movie 3). As far as we know he was a good leader, but we don't how he was as a father. Besides he had to protect Inuyasha, with him being half-breed and all of that, so we can't really blame him for that, but it kinda sucks for Sesshomaru because he thought he was going to inherit his birthright. In conclusion families, including youkai ones, are complicated
@@paulafernandezsuarez4322 he could.have given sounga to sesshomaru, but he chose to leave sesshomaru with nothing but a cast off tenseiga. On top of that he expected sesshomaru to risk his life to master meidou and just give it on a silver platter to inuyasha thus leaving himself with nothing. Doesnt matter what circumstances his marriage was to sesshomaru mother, he still should be fair to his sons, he clearly wasn't
@@gejamugamlatsoomanam7716 If you remember from the movie, Sounga tried to control Inuyasha, and used Takemaru for revenge, and when Inu no Taisho/Toga died Sesshomaru wasn't still mature enough so chances are he wouldn't have been able to master it back then. Besides there's a scene in which Totosai, Myoga and Saya explain the reasoning behind leaving each sword to each son: Because Inuyasha would face trouble from being hanyo he would need something to protect himself and his loved ones, so he received Tessaiga. On the other hand, not only Sesshomaru was still ruthless and needed to be to taught compassion, but Tenseiga would also permit him to revive his army in the middle of a battle and have the upper hand. He also thought that if both sons collaborated they would be unstoppable in battle. Of course Toga's actions are far from perfect and he could have done better, but this is what he believed to be the best choice to make at the moment
domidium probably because the English translation is even more of a mouthful than the Japanese. “Meidō Zangetsuha” sounds way better than “Dark Path of the Dawn Moon's Wave”.
@abc10thousands yep. Cause well I've been parading around in Sesshomaru set and people started calling me fluffy and I like it. :D PS:Imma guy dont get the wrong idea.
So if anyone is still confused - Sesshoumaru's sword was made from an piece of inuyaha's - symbolically implying that Sesshoumaru should serve the owner of the main sword - Inuyasha. Sesshoumaru the older brother was groomed and trained his whole life to fill his fathers shoe's one day as the next great dog demon general, due to the swords they were will to by their father, its implied that he wanted Inuyasha to fill that role instead, which pissed off Sesshoumaru greatly.
both are the 2 sides of a coin like their inherited swords both cases form one, the brothers the image and the 2 sides of their father and their swords what were before a single weapon

I mean their father wanted his sons to get along right.
this technique sends the target directly to netherworld.

Did toga know sesshomaru possessed a sword inside his body tho?
@@nanasshi0711 nope, he didnt, he was a terrible father who clearly played favourites

Say what you want that scene is COOL 0:26
where we first learn the Tensaiga is actually apart of the Tetusaiga
Was that said in the episode 'Tessaiga and Tenseiga'? Totosai did say making the swords from Toga's fang, or was it fangs?
@@NeidalRuekk i belive this is the 1st episdoe confirming it; not big on inuyasha lore
In the face of all this awesomeness, all I can think of is, why in the English dub was this technique the only one that kept its Japanese name?
