Labubu dolls are nothing short of a celebration-a parade of creativity, diversity, and modern art that revels in the unconventional. Dismissing them as "demonic" is like judging a book by its weirdly adorable cover and missing the colorful story inside. To call them evil or demons in disguise is to reduce an entire world of playful artistry to mere superstition and historical paganism, throwing shade on artists who pour their heart & imagination into each figure. Labubu dolls thrive in that liminal space where the whimsical meets the eerie, the cute meets the creepy. They remind us that art doesn't have to be polite to be delightful; it can be odd, it can be edgy, and it can even raise a few eyebrows. Labeling these dolls as "demonic" or “pagan in origin” is the equivalent of throwing tomatoes at a Picasso for not looking like a photograph-it's missing the point entirely. Labubu’s quirky, mischievous design isn’t meant to summon or curse anything but a sense of fun and curiosity. These dolls defy the bland, conformist expectation of what toys should look like. They’re a nod to a world where art embraces the whole spectrum, from the sweet and the strange to the downright peculiar. So let’s celebrate the Labubus of the art world! They’re proof that beauty isn’t limited to traditional standards and that art doesn’t need to play it safe to bring joy. Labubu dolls, with their oddball charm, are here to stay-and they’re proof that whimsy and weirdness can happily coexist without needing to be “demonic.” Judging someone or something like a doll just because they don’t conform to your religious, aesthetic or historical belief doesn’t define who they are. It defines who you are. God cares more about mercy than judgment. We should respect each other's consciences in areas of gray. Try thinking of the word DUAL-for Don’t judge; Understand, Accept, and Love.
I totally agree. I'm a Bible-believing Christian but also an artist. A lot of people believe Labubu's pagan origins but you guys celebrate Christmas, Halloween, Easter, and Valentine's Day all have historical roots or connections to pagan customs, often associated with seasonal festivals and traditions that predate Christianity. There's no physical description of Satan and a demon found in the Bible similar to Labubu's appearance. Norse mythology and the Bible are 2 different belief systems, they are not directly connected. What is your basis to tell this character 'Demon?' If you don't appreciate art then clearly you're not the target market of Art Toy creators.
@@faithfuldays3886 Christmas, Halloween, Easter and Valentine's Day do NOT have historical pagan roots. This utter joke of a claim has already been thoroughly debunked by scholars and you will be laughed at by serious Christians if you tell this to their face unironically.
I’ve been a Christian leader for over two decades, praying and reading the Bible. My wife has a Labubu because she loves cute things and is just curious, but it hasn’t destroyed our marriage, deceived us, made us sick, or made us evil. We’ve never seen strange shadows or heard odd sounds at night. We don’t worship the toy; it’s just a simple object to us. Whether it’s cute or not is subjective-it depends on how you see it. It’s also a form of art. How many kids have Avengers toys, like Thor? Thor comes from Norse mythology. Naruto, as a Nine-Tailed Fox, has roots in Chinese mythology, but that doesn’t make them Satanic. Ask yourself: Is mythology fact or fiction? Is it inherently evil? Is buying a Labubu illegal? Will it turn me into an evil person? What is my intention in buying these dolls? Anyone can take any brand, person, story, character, song, movie, or object and connect it to a myth or history, or give it a different meaning. People often overthink and overanalyze without truly examining themselves or understanding the deeper facts of its origin. History can be edited, and myths can evolve over generations, losing their original meaning along the way. At the end of the day, whether or not I have a Labubu doll, God will judge our hearts. He will look at how many lives we’ve impacted, what fruits we’ve borne, and what we’ve done for His kingdom and for this world. Most people overlook that; only God sees it, and that is what truly matters.
Good points sir. But how about the Labubu: The Monster Carnival toy line in which meron dun literal na depiction na ng demonyo? Ok lang bang mag-compromise ang mga Christians dito? While it is true that God look at our hearts and fruits, as professing Christians with actual saving faith, we should recognize that the Scripture is the absolute Truth, and we must examine the instructions from the Scriptures to avoid compromising things as part of our sanctification here on earth. Our aim as Christians is to glorify God in all we do (1 Corinthians 10:31), which includes being mindful of the messages and symbols we allow into our lives, especially those that depict images or characters associated with darkness or evil, even if meant as art. In which yung nasabi kong Labubu line literal may depiction na ng demonyo. Philippians 4:8 instructs believers to focus on what is “true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable.” Toys or items that depict evil figures, including representations of devils, can detract from this focus and introduce imagery that conflicts with biblical values. Ephesians 5:11 says, “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” Toys that are molded as devils or explicitly symbolize evil can inadvertently celebrate or trivialize the reality of spiritual darkness. It’s essential to recognize that while toys are intended as art or fun, they can still carry symbolic weight. Symbols of darkness may subtly desensitize us or our families to the seriousness of evil, which Scripture calls us to avoid. Since formed nga siya as a toy, marketable siya sa mga bata. So kahit yung Labubu na devil figure ok pa rin ba? Children are impressionable, and what they engage with can shape their understanding of good and evil. Proverbs 22:6 teaches us to “train up a child in the way he should go.” Introducing toys that depict evil characters or devils may confuse children about the nature of good and evil and make darkness appear less serious. As a Christian leader, your choices influence others, especially those who look to you as a model of faith. Romans 14:13 warns us not to “put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.” While Labubu may seem like harmless art to you, it might lead others to lower their guard on what they accept as “harmless” and make it easier to welcome darker or spiritually ambiguous influences. With all due respect, I'm not here to start an argument, but since you've mentioned that you are a Christian, naisip ko na magcomment para ma-realize ng mga Christians na makakabasa nito na hindi lang ito "subjective" na topic and dapat magrely sila sinasabi ng Scriptures tungkol dito. Ang nakakalungkot lang kasi minsan ang mga Christians mas mabilis pa ipagtanggol yung mga wordly trends kaysa ipagtanggol kung ano yung nasa Scripture.
@@elijahdanieldeeYes, of course we are not arguing. Respect is important. We just want to show different perspectives for people to read and decide whether it makes sense to them or not. I’m just sharing my thoughts on this and debunking some of it but that doesn’t mean I’m encouraging everyone to buy this doll. To be honest, for me still, I think there’s no sin or compromise here to begin with if we really do our research, a little logic, diligently seeking the truth and see how all these are connected together. Let’s break it down: 1. I’m an artist, illustrator myself, a professional art director and graphic designer. I draw, design, create characters for fun, for work so I know the process. Labubu is created by Chinese-Belgian artist Kasing Lung with the slightly eerie, whimsical style and drew inspiration from a folklore. Labubu has big eyes, sharp teeth, pointed ears typical of an Art toy. You can also look up other art toys to understand the art world better, you can look it up on the internet some famous art toys like Takashi Murakami's Kaikai and Kiki, Blobpus, KidRobot Dunny and Munny, Kaws, Kaiju Sofubi, and more. These are known cool art toy collectibles collected by toy collectors around the world. Not because they have large eyes, sharp teeth, alien like features, does it mean they are ‘ugly’, not cute or evil. It’s still art, nothing more. Art is subjective. What’s ugly for you maybe cute or cool to others who have more artistic sense than others who are more conservative. 2. Did you say ‘depiction ng demonyo, Satan or demons?’ Ok, according to the dictionary. To ‘depict’ is to represent by a drawing, painting, or other art form. The common, pop culture portrayal of Satan as a red, scary-looking, goat-like beast with horns is not found in the Bible. In fact, it might be the opposite according to Apostle Paul, In 2 Corinthians 11:14 Satan deceives people into thinking he is an angel of light. Even for demons, it is described as "unclean spirits" or "evil spirits" (Mark 5:2, Luke 8:29) that possesses causing illness, self destructive behavior, etc. (Mark 5:1-20, Matthew 17:14-18) demons are fallen angels who followed Satan in his rebellion (Revelation 12:7-9) These terms highlight their impure nature rather than a specific physical form. So, for me, what is the basis of Labubu’s appearance to be a direct depiction of a demon or Satan if it’s not described in the Bible in the first place? In Revelation 12:7-9, Satan is also describe as a dragon, although it is symbolic. And a serpent in Genesis 3. So, if I own a toy snake or ‘Toothless’, the cute dragon character from the Dreamworks movie, ‘How to Train your Dragon’ or any dragon character, does it make me a worshipper of the Devil? Why the church has not noticed it? Why it isn’t topic in social media? The appearance of it is a more close physical depiction than Labubu’s 3. If Kasing Lung has inspiration from a Norse folklore, they are not directly connected to the Bible. Although they have similar concepts in some stories, folklores are hard to prove if there’s any truth from it. Norse mythology and Christian beliefs coexisted between the 8th and 12th centuries, Scandinavia underwent a process of Christianization, during which Norse societies were gradually converted to Christianity. What we need to look at here more is how the enemy made us think that Labubu is evil. This is a big lie for me which I’m not falling for. Just don’t overthink, Christians sometimes overthink, they get easily swayed by what social media says, and they think literally what the Bible says. All I’m saying is just have a very open mind, pray for wisdom and having the right interpretation of the word, do a lot of research and see how all history, facts, fiction, articles, context are all connected. Take your time. Don’t be quick to judge. But if you think if this little stupid doll will shake your faith, don’t buy it. Ignore social media. Ignore me. If your children wants it and you can afford it, then buy it for them, but then parents must guide them to what is truth and lies on what people say about it. Your children better be ready to understand it. If this doll will affect you or your child’s mental health, spiritual being, then don’t buy it. Check yourself, guard your heart, pray about it. To lead and influence people is to open their minds to the truth. We haven't stumbled anyone in our church in 2 decades, in fact, we built lasting friendships from 3 different churches and still in contact with the people already moved to other countries. We have an amazing group of disciples because they are very open minded, obedient and faithful. It will take more than a billion Labubus and a TH-cam comment to throw them off their faith. Still, this is nothing more than a harmless art toy for me. This is where I stand. I don’t care what people say. The last thing we need is people fighting, arguing in TH-cam over a stupid monster doll. Let’s not because that’s what the enemy wants. Let’s not give it. Just relax guys 🙂 Good vibes lang tayo ♥
