What a shame. 21 people accidentally clicked the dislike button. This was just an INCREDIBLE performance, and most people don't even know how hard that really is to play.

It is an incredibly more powerful version than his previous one, and they way he uses the final riff to the conclude the song is spectacular! :D Bless Up Don Ross!

So awesome. There's a lot of Michael Hedgesness to this tune. And that makes it even more awesome. Brilliant. Amazing technique.

One of the things I really like about Mr Ross is seeing over his years of playing that things like tempo have become more consistent for him...I don't notice him changing speed in a song when, for instance, when he hits a part of a song that is a bit more difficult, his adrenaline speeds the play up for those few bars...He writes to challenge himself, which I also admire, but nowadays, he seems to polish his play on the songs to make his performance as precise as his writing...He is one of my favorites...

How do you compose something as complete as this? It's like, so perfect and easeliy played that you forget that he actually created it himself. I belive hes the best composer of all times, its like 3-4 rips melted together to the perfect piece, a bass that will make your soul bounce to the rythm and a tune so funky that you just want to pick up the guitar and use ½ your life to learn this song.

Saw an interview with Don where he talked about how this song was borne...his teenage daughter listened to top 40 pop and didnt care for his guitar too much, he sat and really listened to what was coming from her room and realized most of the songs were all 16th measure/note. Thought hey I can write a tune based in 16th's and maybe she would dig it.

  • @virgult

Many people say that this style on acoustic guitar and metal are deeply related: Kaki King said that "acoustic musicians were searching for a somewhat more violent way to play their instrument, after hard rock, metal and funk came out", so they came up with this style of fingerpicking (i'm quoting an interview on an italian online radio). Another interesting fact: Andy McKee was a metalhead before playing acoustic. ;)
