2-weeks in to basic lead heel and sit training. Try and choose the most sterile environment you can find you only need to small amount of space keep the enthusiasm and the praise high but be clear what you want from your dog. Keep things fun engage your dog and keep the sessions short my early sessions were probably 30 seconds to a minute long this will help you focus just as much as your dog don’t be then taking your dog on lots of walks keep your training sessions short there is plenty of time in the future to be doing long walks.

Wow! I'm so impressed with the way that little dog keeps looking up to you and not sniffing the ground. Love these video clips - thanks

I've adopted a 3 year old working Cocker who pulls TERRIBLY! The problem is, we have to walk 10mins to get to off lead walking areas.
So should I just do heel training separately? Then when I walk him to fields etc., just turn a blind eye to his pulling? Or should I work on heel all the way to the off-lead area, a 10min walk away?

How do you do that? Our does walk on the lead, will sit on command, mostly. Won’t stay close to us? Do we need to use a short lead and not an extendable lead ?
