Put both select points either at the very start or end of the sound, the sound has to be very short to effect anything.

Oh yeah I did that once, an easy way to do it is to get a really short sound that’s just one little BEP and then if it’s short enough you can just keep making it louder and at some point it breaks

It was a 2.0 feature (i think) but it got deleted. There is a Scratch Addons addon that adds the echo button back.
He just enabled the addon.
