@@sadafsadaf1655 I lost mine a couple months ago so I’m tryna get one for Christmas I was gunna ask for it for my birthday when I turn 14 but that’s next year so ima ask for Christmas
I have my friends old Gameboy. He gave it to me. Then he gave me the Pikachu Edition Gameboy SP But the screen was cracked. You cant even see what your playing :(
Believe it or not. The Gameboy was probable back than the biggest thing ever! When I got mine my 11 years older sister wanted to play Tetris, my cousins wanted to play Tetris even my grandma loved that game. (She hasn`t said this about any other video game ever as far as I know) This thing got a much bigger attention in the society as a total as any other handheld. Not even 8-Bit homecomputers.
DoctorEd five years late here haha but first, your avatar goes perfect with your question lol second, i’m pretty baffled at that also. I mean it looks like a regular skater haircut.
Hi there Nintendo Collector, I still have my own Nintendo Game boy and it still works! My parents gave it to me in 1993's Christmas and I remember I was very confused..."how the hell i'm having a pocket Nintendo?""is this real?" I used to thought....but I remember it gave me A LOT of good moments, like we were traveling in vacations to the beach (I live in Santiago, Chile...and the nearest beach it's almost 100 miles to the west) and I was playing Warioland... Nowadays I keep it as a great and old companion and I let my 6-years-old son to play with it, I still have "TLOZ: Link's awakening" and "Donkey Kong country". Thank you VERY MUCH for this video, it really reminded me a lot of great moments and I will see your other videos, I would like to see one about Nintendo NES or SNES.
I’m 39 now and I never owned and don’t even remember, wanting a gameboy. I think because I was probably playing on a console and wasn’t bothered about gameboy. I do remember 1 of my neighbours, let me borrow his gameboy and I do remember, sitting in my room and having a really really good time, playing video games on handheld. Even Tetris was and still is bloody great. I actually wouldn’t mind owning a gameboy, now. Just for nostalgia and for random fun when I’m bored.
That Tetris cart was in the case backwards and possibly upside-down... no wonder you had a hard time opening it! The long oval shaped indention on the top of the plastic case is supposed to circle the "Nintendo Game Boy" logo etched into the cart!
I remember getting a gameboy maybe a year after they came out. It was so amazing, and I was completely immersed in it. The pea green screen or awkward positions to get the light to hit the screen perfectly didn't bother me at all. It was like having a NES in your pocket! It was a huge deal. I know atari linx and later Sega game gear were on the market but I don't think they had the catalog, affordability or practically of the game boy (being as they were larger) for whatever reason even though they definitely looked awesome, back-lit with color, the game boy was the biggest. Not sure if it was marketing, but probably the $$$. Who can forget F-1 race with the link cables. I rarely utilized the cables with a friend though. Keep in mind also, prior to this all we had on the go was tiger lcd! 😆 great memories watching this unboxing, thank you!
I have one too, oddly the one I have has some scratches on the screen that's not able to come off. Also what is the sign of the battery running low, I usually see that small red light dim slowly, and while it's so dim, it's hard to tell if it's glowing, the batteries then die.
I can not believe it! have a bone of saint there, thanks for sharing these unique treasures with youtube, even if not in person impresses me too see the story so well maintained!!. EXCELLENT!
First GB I had was a purple, that you could see the inside of it(not sure of the proper term), that came with an Ultima: Runes of Virtue, Dragonball Z and Yuu Yuu Hakusho. It was the most memorable Christmas gift of my childhood ever.
Late 2000's: *mom gives gameboy to her child. Son: WOW! Thank you very much mom XD. Present:*Mom gave her child 3ds's, laptop, xbox, ipads, and whatsoever. Son:this ISNT ENOUGH! Kids what happened to us?
Darryl Gillespie In the late 80's I would have give anything to have a Game Boy, or a master system, but the bought me a unofficial stupi Atari 2600. I had to save quitting breakfasting for months when Super Nintendo came out, I proudly brought the pack with Super mario World and Street Fighter. I remember reading the review of Street Fighter for SNES 1000s of times. Times have change that's right.
XD Dude, seriously, without even MEANING to, this popped up for me in my head several times during the video; I just randomly thought, "I'm sure that's how the box stayed in such good condition. By being smudged by fingers and by being in direct light." I didn't even mean to. And I got uncomfortable when he popped open Tetris, thinking it may have never been. . This just popped up involuntarily, I'm not like this! XP Well, I am, but not to such an extent.
I agree. Some hardcore collectors want un-touched, factory sealed items. For those types of people, him opening and touching the physical items will not only decrease the value to used/slightly used, but drive away those Mint Condition buyers.
What value could this Gameboy have? I mean the old days were fun, but why would you want this sealed in box? I dont get the point to collect older console or handhelds..
Cool video. One note though, you had the Tetris game upside down in the plastic casing. The little window is used to display the text at the top of the cartridge. Actually really bugged me! Great video though.
I can go to my kitchen, make 4 sandwiches, come back, and he would STILL be talking. Also, i bet plastic packaging for wires is totally worth 10000 dollars. "Collector Reasons". There is only room for one person that collects plastic packaging. Me.
Good video and Cool find. I've seen those go for a good amount especially having everything included and boxed rather than just the system. I myself collect Gameboy Pockets and have a couple videos of my collection. I'm up to 11 different colored ones, including one that I'll be getting in the mail soon. I plan on doing an un-boxing of it and showing where it's going to go on my display shelf. All of my GBP's fully function and have battery covers to them. Feel free to check them out if you want. Good luck with your future finds.
nice, i was gonna do unboxing vids of my consoles too but i agree with what you said, its hard to do them as a manual or something else could be missing. great vid
I remember the recgarchable battery pack for this thing. It was massive and you had to plug it into the side. I miss internet free technology like this.
I haven't mixed batteries in my Game Boy since it went BANG! in my mum's hands when she was playing Tetris back in the early 90's - yes the batteries actually exploded!
Well somebody else may have said it already never remove the cap of the link Cable once it is loose it will always fall out. Unless you actually multiplay with it ofc
I've got the original GB and both Tetris and Dr. Mario in the case's, anyone got a rough value on rough used GB and great condition Tetris and Dr. Mario?
I have this gameboy brand new, actually never really opened at all. I remember I got it for Christmas and never cared to open it just like my pokemon yellow, blue and firered video games for it, they are still in the box unopened.
i wish ther was an up to date game boy system that played all gameboy games old and new but played them higher res and bigger screen without loosing picture quality, i recently played an original gamboy and i forgot just how tiny the screen is
:D I have one of these and I used to always play Link's awakening on it. My parents gave me their old ones, so I have 2 boxed in great condition, but I use one (where the black plastic on the screen comes off because the old glue disintegrated.) Funny thing is, some batteries where in from when my parents were kids, not the original batteries but batteries anyway, which were in perfect condition. XD
Cool I used to own some old nintendo consoles including the gameboy!! This is amazing, though I did lose all those old consoles because I didn't really know how much it was worth.
Man was I hype when I unwrapped this Christmas of 1990..
Fruityflava what a memory that must be

I would respond back to a lot of these hate comments but there's no need to. My response would be far too self-explanatory.

I like how you read everything on the box. :) This stuff interests me. . . Maybe I should do the same for an N64 box I have. . .
How much was this bad boy?
