You were responsible for me receiving this as a gift. You helped my girl pick this out for me. I am hard to buy for and she wanted something special. I couldn’t be more pleased. It sounds beautiful and almost plays itself. It has reinvigorated me to write. I’ve written 4 new songs since Valentines Day. Thank you for your helping her.
I just bought one of these and I am very excited to get it. I’ve been playing on a 60’s harmony Soverign h1203 (OM) and the action is very difficult to play past the 7th fret. I’ve been wanting a bigger sound but not something uncomfortable like a dreadnought, and with a completely different sound. I was lucky enough to come across one of these Taylor 818e on reverb that was made for a Taylor event held at their factory. It’s in a beautiful tobacco sunburst, and the rosewood almost looks a little curly. I play a lot of different styles so I think this is perfect for me. I’m just so thankful to get my dream guitar at 22. And your videos really helped me the most on deciding what’s best for me, so thank you for all of the amazing videos you’ve created, from tone wood explanations to comparisons they are all so very helpful when choosing a forever guitar, so thank you guys for being awesome and so informative!
I really love your videos Chris. You are legit my spirit animal. I’ve been living in Asia for the last 3 and a half years but deff want to check your shop when I get back to the states! (I’m from Louisiana)
I came back to guitar playing after too many years off. I debated between the Martin HD28 and this one. I went with this one partly because it was hard to find both in stock at a store to play, and I knew from reading about Taylor that it was less important to play the one I bought than it was to play the Martin (since the Martin is hand made and has more variation, while the Taylors are more consistent from guitar-to-guitar). The guitar is indeed BIG, and it has a BIG sound, and it does well in softer finger-style. I love it. It is a little big. I'm only 5-6, and while I always played pretty big dreds, this one is deep and big on the right side. I'm kinda working that out still.
I have a 2017 Taylor 818e. I find it to be very responsive to a light touch. But it doesn’t seem to like hard strumming as much. How would you compare to this V class braced 818? Is there that much difference?
Taylor Guitars Primetime is on every Tuesday at 6 p.m. PDT (8 p.m. Central). Last week's program was a discussion on the future of our tone woods. Oh, yeah (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) order your Alamo inlay models from Alamo Music...
Nice Guitars. Will you guys do a review on the Taylor AD17e American Dream when you get it. It looks to be USA made Taylor for under $1600. Im excited to play it when it comes out. You can tell you really love your Taylors. What are your thoughts on The Gibson Hummingbird M Walnut. Since I received two destroyed Martins in shipment I was given a discount and was to pick up the Gibson for $1500.00. However, I will have to change to Elixir strings (Taylor has put me on to them). Well anyhow keep up the videos, I wish I was not all the way in Philadelphia I would love to browse your store.
Yes, we will he reviewing the American Dream series as soon as we receive our first. Waiting for it now. The Hummingbird M Walnut is a great guitar but I prefer the original Hummingbird. - Chris
Great video, very informative. I'm pretty sure you have done a SJ200 / 818e video comparison in the past (?), any chance of doing an updated comparison on the recently released SJ200 and 818e jumbo? Cheers!

Oh man, SO happy for you!
So warmth and rich is the sound of that guitar. Awesome
Wow, that sounds amazing!
It was!
You worked some good magic to get Taylor to do those special inlays just for you guys! Well done Chris. Another superb review
Thanks!
Love it Chris, great job. I feel like I have been to a concert. I put elixirs on my jumbo sound great.🤠❤️
What a compliment thank you!

Can this be ordered without onboard electronics and would it lower the price?
Incredible guitar
I have a 2017 Taylor 818e. I find it to be very responsive to a light touch. But it doesn’t seem to like hard strumming as much.

This one is very responsive actually so it responds really well to light and hard strumming!
Great demo, can’t wait to get mine that I ordered!
Hope you enjoy it!
How is your guitar dude?

Folks (the few) at church Sunday liked the Alamo Music "Guitar Nut" T-shirt... and the logo on the back.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!

can't find this guitar on your web store
Reminds of Giold F55
Could you please make a comparison of this an the old 818e?
Will look into this!
Fantastic, how much$$$
$3,499 (:
I love
Does this guitar have a strap button?
Yes!
You won't find a better sounding taylor
What's the model of the mic?
Warm Audio WA47Jr FET (:
@@AlamoMusic Thank you :)
Interesting, how a sound Taylor lovers consider "rich" can still sound kind of "hollowed out" to Martin/Gibson/Guild players. . .
The grand pacific 517 sounds better imo.
And here I can't even afford a
Taylor 114 ce
Or
Baby Taylor
Yamaha has some great, affordable models to look at to!
Thay copy the Guild f55
Remember get and vote Trump or you’ll never be able to afford to buy this guitar.
