They literally will change their opinions, narratives, and impact of a player, team, series, season, etc. based on the outcome of 2-3 games!!! I’m not a NBA super fan, nor am I a sophisticated or well informed about basketball strategy or history. In fact, I only started following the NBA of 2-4 months. So Draymond’s theory that the NBA 🎉media is simply being lazy by trying to blame the Mavs poor performance on Luca’s defense is laughable.
It's a testament to the greatness of the triangle offense that Fish could accomplish what he did in his career within it. He was a small guard, not fast, not athletic, got cooked by most starting PGs by 2008 onward, and his shot was pretty slow given he had to wind it up. But he was high IQ, wasn't scared of the big shot if he had to take it and wasn't gonna be a liability to the team off the court. Had Javaris not been wrapped up in shit off the court, he had the talent to be something and take Fish's spot. But his stint maybe made the Lakers appreciate Fish more which is why they brought him back from Golden State (either there or Utah, I forget)
I think that was a really good breakdown of the series. Dallas has an uphill climb no matter how well they have Boston figured out, but anytime you have Luca on your team you have a chance. He didn’t have his long shooting game going and they still won by 38. What happened if he gets four threes in the first three minutes of the next game? I feel like brown is mentally tough enough to not get spooked but Tatum depends on those difficult shots to score and they get a lot harder if you’re feeling the pressure.
