I feel for the bro who dropped his Taiaha .....to represent your culture at the highest level is something we Maori always strive for...so I know deep down he would’ve been spewing inside but the best thing he could ever do is carry on and that in itself speaks volumes of the pride he carries regardless of dropping his taiaha.....I know a lot out there would be cutting him in half but I say nerves can get the best of everyone even in the moment.....beautiful performance!!...and proud to be Maori........Kia kaha 🔥❤️

actuals a fact I saw somewhere but Polynesians came to USA before colonisation, we came with women and children to let the native Americans know that we were coming peacefully, we gave fresh fruits & other items I forgot haha but we were allies back then ❤️

If you believe the Bible, in the Old Testament it talks about a city of Babel, where all the brothers families lived together in harmony and wanted to build a tower to the Heavens in order to be closer to God, God however wanted the people to disperse to live and populate all of the earth, and the people ignored him. So God confused their language and collapsed the tower and sent a sand storm to bury the city. This is where the term “babbling” comes from and it’s from this story we can believe that all people of similar races are actually of 1 race of 1 family and that all people that share a similar culture or tradition at one point were part of the same group, so even though that connection might’ve been lost throughout history the tribes people are all connected, just as everyone is connected through the common ancestry of following back to the time of Babel and to the time before of the story of Creation

The bro leading with the taiha, needs more practice and the movements have to sink together. But very proud Moari is recognised as part of world wide native culture. Thanks to all who help organise this event.

I wish more people would reintroduce the culture and customs of the Celtic, Germanic tribes being a descendant of those people I’d like to learn to take part in some customary ceremonies. People like to forget that Europe as well as everywhere else had a similar “First Nations” group of tribes that lived in the forests and worshipped their own gods

Read the story of Babel from the Bible, it might surprise you in finding out that you are more correct than you think
