I've met him a few times and got a lot of crap signed (albums and books, mp3s can't do) and he's seriously a very nice guy. Considering his material and how beyond everything he gets when he performs you'd think he'd be a more tense guy but he's really friendly and approachable. Every music lover loves him for these things. Saw him telling the sound guy at Alexandra Palace to go fuck himself and listen to his instructions. Only good-sounding gig I've ever seen there. All my respect for that.
I wish more performers would tell people to shut up. Have you been to a show lately? Between talking, texting and filming - crowds are pretty rude these days. And if anyone is going to tell people to shut up it'd be Gira.
This might sound like Mr. Maturity verbal garbage but I´ve been noticing this pattern that people are getting ruder and ruder in general , just a sense of not respecting anything ... besides brute force , that is .
Michael is actually quite approachable and kind, he's very patient with his fans even after a long and tiring Swans show. I missed his solo tour and now am that afraid I'll never get to see him or Swans live again. 😢
Ahahaha, at Gira's concert in Sofia, a girl gave out an exalted cry at the beginning of the same song, and the expression on Gira's face was priceless. :D
I'd have thought the opposite. The thing is the way he sings on record is completely different from how it sounds live. Not only his voice but all the arrangements, especially when it's an acoustic performance like this.
Glad I didn't go to this. Would have ruined my fond memories of seeing The Swans at the Powerhouse back in 89.He's telling people to shut da fuck up and listen to this?Truly awful version of one of my favourite songs.
I know this is old but lmao this is just Michael Gira being Michael Gira. I don't think I've ever seen anybody telling someone to stfu in a more likeable way, he's awesome.

Amen to that.

Michael Gira is really nice, he was smiling and sort of laughing when he said it AND he said "no offense"
The saddest and most beautiful of them all!

So often the self has been blindly muted by this age. Michael Gira gives us a glimpse of an art catalog so raw and real to himself.
and he says it so well
This is really good.
Alter Mann,Du bist gut!!!Das war meine Jugend!
Wow. Love it

i love you and i love your hatred
damn...
did his voice lose the lower register as he got older?
I wouldn't mine if he sang in higher notes, but he's well the fuck out of tune.
dont get it
nice
schließe mich Jürgen an... nur "gut" möchte ich mit "genial" ersetzen....
lmao

He had all the right to tell them to shut up though. More artists should do it...
it's kinda shitty to talk during an acoustic show

Out of tune
