I not only save the pot, but i also save the roots. Especially tomato roots. I dry them in the sun, then stick a seed in the middle and use that instead of a rock wool starter. Works great!
I would get the extension kit and grow 28 plants. That should give you enough. It will take about 4 months before the plants are big enough to provide this much, but they will grow for months.
@@LeahBrooksJeremiahGardens so you mean that after the initial 3 months I can have it continously growing and ready to consume? Im not sure if the extension kit is available in europe, i saw they have only the home unit.
@@Lilzvx Oh, I assumed you'd be growing in the FLEX. OK, in the HOME unit, you'll grow 16 plants. I'm not sure if that will produce enough celery to make that much juice. I apologize. Celery is a slow grower. It takes a while for it to become a big plant. But once it's growing, it grows for months!
Fantastic. If you stick an airstone at the bottom the algae buildup will be slower. I think they do organic hydroponic nutrients now so you don't get the salt buildup either.
Celery is a slow grower and takes a few months. It takes about 3 months to get to a decent size for harvesting, but this plant is probably 8 months old.
I'm new to growing in a tower garden. I have mine inside with lights. I would like to Grow celery like this. I have taken store bought celery and cut the bases and trying to start new growth. It's not sprouting roots but getting leaves in the middle. Once you put it in the tower garden, how do you keep the base from rotting before it has a chance to grow? My first one rotted and smelled bad. Do I even need to wait to see roots before transplanting.
We peeled off just enough of the celery base outer layers to fit it into the net pot. it really took off from there. Dont worry the roots will certainly growing soon enough!

WOW that is really cool! I will try this. Thanks for sharing!
What variety of celery is it?
Tango celery
Celerys 5$ a head here. I heard going up to 9$..thanks
That is crazy expensive!
using pool noodles cut to 2 inches are a better way to stabilize your plants....and you can re use it over and over
Awesome, thank you!
Is it possible to grow enough celery heads on 1 tower, to make 16oz-32oz celery juice every day?

@@LeahBrooksJeremiahGardens if there's a reason and it's worth it, i could find a way to bring the FLEX from the USA..

How is an airstone helping with algae? :)
@@Mister_Stork The constant movement makes it hard for algae to take hold.
@@GaryMcKinnonUFO Ahh ok, that makes sense.
what kind of celery is it? what type of garden tower? Wonder looking celery
Tango celery ~ and it's the Tower Garden www.leahbrooks.towergarden.com thank you!
Hi! How long did it take for the celery to grow to this size from seed in a hydroponic system?
