I know Pokke won't read this and disagree with me, but the tweet that Pokke wrote does not represent what he actually wants to convey. It is really down to how it is worded and I do believe it isn't the second part of the sentence that people are angry about. The subject "HSR" refers to the game. The predicate "has a powercreep problem" conveys that the game in its entirety, HSR (the subject), is facing an issue with powercreep. Then the subordinate clause "only if you allow it to happen, either by greed or stupidity" conveys that you can solve the problem which we call as powercreep that HSR (based on the subject and predicate) is facing by being smart with your account. Everyone, and Pokke, definitely agrees that HSR has powercreep. However, Pokke wants to say that powercreep in inevitable in a gacha game and you can overcome powercreep on your account by planning and being smart with your pulls. What I find weird is that every person defending the power creep here is either accidentally implying that power creep is never an issue or that it is inevitable so we shouldn’t feel bothered. I'm not defending powercreep in any means, Firefly, who could 2-3 cycle previous MOC is 4 cycling this MOC with sustain(the trotters do kind of effect cycles in a weird way). Powercreep does exist and it's rate could and should slow down a touch but at the same time, good account building can help you overcome endgame as a f2p always. Even though I'm a f2p who took many massive breaks and missed out on tons of jades, I still have, Robin, Sunday(S1 on rerun because I've been saving LC pity), Jiaoqiu, Aventurine, Ruan Mei, Firefly, Acheron(E0S1) and Jade. And I've 3 starred all game modes.

Powercreep is basically normal in any gacha games, example would be in ZZZ Ellen and Miyabi one outshine the other. Does that mean Ellen is useless now? Answer is no, she can still clear contents just not as quick or easily as Miyabi but still can do it regardless. Same goes for HSR, but the real issue is the HP inflation and the lack of support for old units and archetypes. Which is sad since I still want to play with my old characters like DoTs. This is just how I understood the current state of the game.

So where does this powercreep problem stem from HP inflation / MOC buff more suited for specific team? A character better than another character? A character does more dmg or give more buffs. Or the idea that I clear less cycles than last MOC. Like what is the consensus for y’all. Or maybe you fail to get all the rewards and pull lose the 50/50 and wake up to reality that wishing to win a small reward was ur choice and you lost more than you gain. Like the more longer you play even vertical invest / horizontal invest you reap all the rewards. In 3.0 relic farming should be must easier especially for break.

Agreed.If you're f2p and you don't look at leaks then wth are u even doing. F2p players need to plan and build their teams slowly and have to be smart about it. If your problem is that u don't know which unit will be future-proof then judge it through the leaks and plan accordingly. If u let yourself get swayed by the temptation of a predatory gacha system that we all knew when we first downloaded the game then it's all on you. It's a gacha game.
@ dude the grace period is not set in stone. The goal is for pokke to prove what he’s claiming about f2p. He can take 3 or 4 months or however many is deemed necessary as long as he can clear content for the rest of year as f2p.
Bro is right. Powercreep is inevitable but the player has the ability to control the effect of powercreep to their account. Chasing waifus and husbandos and being baited is what ultimately causes the player to run out of resources and thats why they feel like they cant keep up with banner releases. If youre F2P, vertical invest on characters you like to survive powercreep easier and if youre not u really shouldnt have a problem beacuse f2p players to this day can still clear endgame content.
I’ll be honest, it’s really not that bad. I’m a day 1 player, and I’ve had plenty of room to clear all endgame content, pull who I want, and have basically never worried about it. Back in 1.0 I got a Seele, then built up 200 tickets as a ‘saving fund’ that I’d only use if things got dicey or I was feeling particularly brave. Besides that I pulled who I wanted. Seele to pick me up for early stages, then Loucha for a healer, Jingliu cause she was cracked, Mei as the first Harmony, skipped Acheron cause I didn’t like her, Aventurine cause I needed a sustain, Bobin cause duh, then FF for an easy break comp, followed by Jade to make PF a breeze, then Fei, now into a Sunday. I have literally never had an issue with clearing content once I started first clearing endgame. I use a unit until the end of their lifespan, pick up the latest cracked out support, then replace the DPS when they run out of fuel in 4-5 patches. Still leaves me with plenty of breathing room, I know that I can get what I want, and use what is given to me for easy clears.

But yep I also believe that Mrpokke could word it a bit better (for the people that crash out before actually thinking about it) for example like. The powercreep "problem" will arise if your characters can't clear the current and upcoming moc 12, which if you are "smart enough in your pulls, overall gameplay knowledge" you will not simply have this problem. Because even if acheron powercreep kafka and jingyuan for example but still kafka and jingyuan can clear the current moc 12 with proper set up and investment then its not gonna be "powercreep problem" why? BECAUSE YOU CAN STILL CLEAR THE MOC 12. Simply Powercreep and powercreep problem are two different things. Powercreep is a normal thing you can't change, stop it. It is needed for the game because it's the "progression" of the game itself. "Powercreep problem" is you the players having the hard time to clear the content because of powercreep but if the other players with units that get powercreep now with new units but still can clear the endgame content, now who is the problem? Ask yourself again. And if you are a "casual" you simply will not care about that, this statement or commonly you would not be here anyway too because you're just a casual trying to enjoy the game in the first place. Anybody with a brain can understand that you are right. There IS powercreep in hsr, but whether thats a problem in your account or not is completely up to you and your decisions. So he is right, powercreep does exist, but its only a problem in your account if you dont plan your pulls. Im completely f2p and can clear every content easily, thats because i made sure to make correct choices for who i pull. I pulled Jiaoqiu for Acheron, and pulled Firefly because i already had ruan mei and they had synergy. People are mad because they feel called out. Its okay if you dont want to chase meta, but if you start whining about not being able to clear moc 12 then thats literally all your fault, if you wanted to always clear moc 12 easily you should have cared about your team building and not just pull for random characters, again thats only if you care about clearing all endgame. Whats also funny is that so many people complain about not being able to clear moc 12 fully, but then they admit they play the game like twice a month only. And im not saying thats wrong, you can play games however you want, but if you do that and expect to clear the hardest content in the game you're just delusional if you're a f2p. Not maxing traces, not farming relics, not doing all events and dailies so you dont even get pulls, how do you expect to clear the hardest content like that as a f2p?

Well that’s just 50/50 luck, I too am a f2p player but I have been playing since day 1, I have 11 limiteds and 3 lightcones, but the difference is I have lost 6 50/50s and won 5, you have won 8 and lost 4 (I have enough pulls to hit pity 3 times rn)

Even if I deduct 4 win into loss to make it balance. i hit hard pity for the most part except 4 characters anyway. And I still have more or less 6 limited units to make 2 teams. All in all, what bro trying to say dont try to pull for every new characters/waifu then blame power kreep for not clearing end game. For an example bobin gets a rerun with a new dps or a waifu, dont pull that dps or waifu but get a bobin eidolon instead(e1) or collect more each rerun to e6 to summon exodia it might be an L but later it will be a w, even if you are struggling in end game content its fine, cuz you mis out only 80 jades or 160 jades every 6 weeks. I haven't cleard 3 star in the previous moc and its fine, this moc I could clear without pulling any newly released 5 star dps cuz of the totters. So its not gover if you cant 3 star it. I have been saving over 300+pulls now and having a hard time clearing moc 12 but thinking getting 1 herta and that is going to help clear moc 12. But I am also thinking it might not be the best option cuz I am waiting for the collaboration cuz they are limited characters(no rerun) meaning they have to be really good otherwise none will pull. Also f2p day 1 and regret pulling for jinglyu & dhil but not regretting hwehwe. I liked the Bob theory. So I wanted to take to its full extent. I will use 100 pulls as a token for each limited character, 65 for a lc, and try my best to build an account similar to the one you used to clear moc 12 with the "Power crept Characters" 1.0: 213 pulls acquired. I will pick up both Seele and Jingyuan, so I have 2 strong cps's to tackle end game. 1.1: Oooh mono quantum could be good for Seele, I pick up Sw leaving us with 10 pulls left. 1.2: Easy skip none of these characters help complete my teams. (103 pulls I the bank) 1.3: Fu Xuan will help Mono Quantum so we pick her up. (119 pulls remaining) 1.4: Jingliu is broken, but I can still clear well with my current 2 dps's, I will pick up Seele lc. (131 pulls) 1.5: Huo Huo acquired. (137 pulls) 1.6: Ruan Mei acquired (140 pulls) 2.0: Ooo Sparkle will complete my mono quantum and I can get Before Dawn on JY (100 pulls left) 2.1: Acheron and Aventurine are cool but I don't need another lightning dps (221 pulls left) 2.2: Robin is game breaking with one of the best E1's. Acquired Robin e1 (127 pulls left) 2.3: Skip (240 pulls left) 2.4: Skip (328 pulls left) 2.5: Robin rerun gets e2 and s1 (266 Pulls left) 2.6: Skip (372 Pulls left) 2.7: Sunday E0 S1 pulled (290 pulls left) Notes: Even when pulling bait characters such as Silver Wolf and Sparkle I still end up with a very strong Seele and Jing Yuan account. With 290 pulls left around 3 more limited characters could be acquired. This could go towards Ruan Mei e1/ e2 or could be used to acquire a break dps like Rappa or Boothill alongside Fugue to help clear purification as this account is pretty PF weak and a break character would be amazing for apocalypse shadow. The account has some extremely powerful supports so even if I decide to not invest further into Seele/ Jing Yuan replacement cps's can come in and dominate with these supports. Yes Smart pulling can lead to a strong f2p account. (Pick up eos0 intitially and grab vertical investment later once their value has been semented.
Good luck to clear all the endgame content with mono quantum and JY since 1.0, without signature light cones till 1.x and robin+sunday till 2.x, you've been playing the same teams for 2 years (magnificent pleasure) and in terms of clearing speed your team of 10+ 5-stars < new team with event 2 sustains (for the whole game) and acheron with JQ and lc (4 cost) and rappa with ruan (3 cost), absolute cinema

Bro is right. Powercreep is inevitable but the player has the ability to control the effect of powercreep to their account. Chasing waifus and husbandos and being baited is what ultimately causes the player to run out of resources and thats why they feel like they cant keep up with banner releases.
If youre F2P, vertical invest on characters you like to survive powercreep easier and if youre not u really shouldnt have a problem beacuse f2p players to this day can still clear endgame content.
I’ll be honest, it’s really not that bad. I’m a day 1 player, and I’ve had plenty of room to clear all endgame content, pull who I want, and have basically never worried about it.
Back in 1.0 I got a Seele, then built up 200 tickets as a ‘saving fund’ that I’d only use if things got dicey or I was feeling particularly brave.
Besides that I pulled who I wanted. Seele to pick me up for early stages, then Loucha for a healer, Jingliu cause she was cracked, Mei as the first Harmony, skipped Acheron cause I didn’t like her, Aventurine cause I needed a sustain, Bobin cause duh, then FF for an easy break comp, followed by Jade to make PF a breeze, then Fei, now into a Sunday.
I have literally never had an issue with clearing content once I started first clearing endgame.
I use a unit until the end of their lifespan, pick up the latest cracked out support, then replace the DPS when they run out of fuel in 4-5 patches.
Still leaves me with plenty of breathing room, I know that I can get what I want, and use what is given to me for easy clears.

I totally agree with Mrpokke's take about this powercreep thing. But yep I also believe that Mrpokke could word it a bit better (for the people that crash out before actually thinking about it) for example like.
"HSR has a powercreep, the problem "arises/will show up" only if you allow it to happen. Either by greed or stupidity."
With these kinds of wording, Mrpokke's point would still be the same? Yes but the people would now understand it a bit better and clear. Because a lot of people misunderstood that words literally as Mrpokke "doesn't believe in powercreep" which is why it results in a lot of people tweaking including other CCs.
But to be honest the statement Mrpokke's already made is fine. People don't just take their fkin time and actually think about it because if you think it hard enough, Mrpokke's statement and the statement I revised basically means the same thing /point XD.
For the people that still didn't get it, powercreep does exist (literally the characters multiplier, enemies health increasing a lot). The powercreep "problem" will arise if your characters can't clear the current and upcoming moc 12, which if you are "smart enough in your pulls, overall gameplay knowledge" you will not simply have this problem. Because even if acheron powercreep kafka and jingyuan for example but still kafka and jingyuan can clear the current moc 12 with proper set up and investment then its not gonna be "powercreep problem" why? BECAUSE YOU CAN STILL CLEAR THE MOC 12.

Powercreep and powercreep problem are two different things.
Powercreep is a normal thing you can't change, stop it. It is needed for the game because it's the "progression" of the game itself.
"Powercreep problem" is you the players having the hard time to clear the content because of powercreep but if the other players with units that get powercreep now with new units but still can clear the endgame content, now who is the problem? Ask yourself again.
And if you are a "casual" you simply will not care about that, this statement or commonly you would not be here anyway too because you're just a casual trying to enjoy the game in the first place.

Anybody with a brain can understand that you are right. There IS powercreep in hsr, but whether thats a problem in your account or not is completely up to you and your decisions. So he is right, powercreep does exist, but its only a problem in your account if you dont plan your pulls. Im completely f2p and can clear every content easily, thats because i made sure to make correct choices for who i pull. I pulled Jiaoqiu for Acheron, and pulled Firefly because i already had ruan mei and they had synergy. People are mad because they feel called out. Its okay if you dont want to chase meta, but if you start whining about not being able to clear moc 12 then thats literally all your fault, if you wanted to always clear moc 12 easily you should have cared about your team building and not just pull for random characters, again thats only if you care about clearing all endgame. Whats also funny is that so many people complain about not being able to clear moc 12 fully, but then they admit they play the game like twice a month only. And im not saying thats wrong, you can play games however you want, but if you do that and expect to clear the hardest content in the game you're just delusional if you're a f2p. Not maxing traces, not farming relics, not doing all events and dailies so you dont even get pulls, how do you expect to clear the hardest content like that as a f2p?

Well that’s just 50/50 luck, I too am a f2p player but I have been playing since day 1, I have 11 limiteds and 3 lightcones, but the difference is I have lost 6 50/50s and won 5, you have won 8 and lost 4 (I have enough pulls to hit pity 3 times rn)

Even if I deduct 4 win into loss to make it balance. i hit hard pity for the most part except 4 characters anyway. And I still have more or less 6 limited units to make 2 teams. And use my standard, himeko, bronya, clara to compensate the modes and situation.

Fun fact, for acheron, aventurine and 2 yanqing pulls, thats all in the same 2.1 patch. Thats exactly 310 total pulls in a single patch.
I dont get where f2p dont have enough pulls idea came from and bare in mind that I pull for Ruan Mei in 1.6 (also lost btw). So I can only save for 1 patch. But somehow manage to get 310 pulls in single patch f2p? Yes, f2p dont have enough pulls.

All in all, what bro trying to say dont try to pull for every new characters/waifu then blame power kreep for not clearing end game. For an example bobin gets a rerun with a new dps or a waifu, dont pull that dps or waifu but get a bobin eidolon instead(e1) or collect more each rerun to e6 to summon exodia it might be an L but later it will be a w, even if you are struggling in end game content its fine, cuz you mis out only 80 jades or 160 jades every 6 weeks.
I haven't cleard 3 star in the previous moc and its fine, this moc I could clear without pulling any newly released 5 star dps cuz of the totters. So its not gover if you cant 3 star it.
I have been saving over 300+pulls now and having a hard time clearing moc 12 but thinking getting 1 herta and that is going to help clear moc 12. But I am also thinking it might not be the best option cuz I am waiting for the collaboration cuz they are limited characters(no rerun) meaning they have to be really good otherwise none will pull.
Also f2p day 1 and regret pulling for jinglyu & dhil but not regretting hwehwe. I have RM and bobin skiped rappa, firefly and (lingsha lost 50/50) and more, further more I will not be pulling her again even tho she is really good cuz I have a feeling somone better is coming to replace her, ringht now Gallagher, tingyun(fuge), RM and guinafien is my supa break
I liked the Bob theory. So I wanted to take to its full extent.
I will use 100 pulls as a token for each limited character, 65 for a lc, and try my best to build an account similar to the one you used to clear moc 12 with the "Power crept Characters"
1.0: 213 pulls acquired. I will pick up both Seele and Jingyuan, so I have 2 strong cps's to tackle end game.
1.1: Oooh mono quantum could be good for Seele, I pick up Sw leaving us with 10 pulls left.
1.2: Easy skip none of these characters help complete my teams. (103 pulls I the bank)
1.3: Fu Xuan will help Mono Quantum so we pick her up. (119 pulls remaining)
1.4: Jingliu is broken, but I can still clear well with my current 2 dps's, I will pick up Seele lc. (131 pulls)
1.5: Huo Huo acquired. (137 pulls)
1.6: Ruan Mei acquired (140 pulls)
2.0: Ooo Sparkle will complete my mono quantum and I can get Before Dawn on JY (100 pulls left)
2.1: Acheron and Aventurine are cool but I don't need another lightning dps (221 pulls left)
2.2: Robin is game breaking with one of the best E1's. Acquired Robin e1 (127 pulls left)
2.3: Skip (240 pulls left)
2.4: Skip (328 pulls left)
2.5: Robin rerun gets e2 and s1 (266 Pulls left)

Notes: Even when pulling bait characters such as Silver Wolf and Sparkle I still end up with a very strong Seele and Jing Yuan account.
With 290 pulls left around 3 more limited characters could be acquired. This could go towards Ruan Mei e1/ e2 or could be used to acquire a break dps like Rappa or Boothill alongside Fugue to help clear purification as this account is pretty PF weak and a break character would be amazing for apocalypse shadow.
The account has some extremely powerful supports so even if I decide to not invest further into Seele/ Jing Yuan replacement cps's can come in and dominate with these supports.
Yes Smart pulling can lead to a strong f2p account. (Pick up eos0 intitially and grab vertical investment later once their value has been semented.
Good luck to clear all the endgame content with mono quantum and JY since 1.0, without signature light cones till 1.x and robin+sunday till 2.x, you've been playing the same teams for 2 years (magnificent pleasure) and in terms of clearing speed your team of 10+ 5-stars < new team with event 2 sustains (for the whole game) and acheron with JQ and lc (4 cost) and rappa with ruan (3 cost), absolute cinema
Ofc I have to skip Archeron in spite of every HSR CCs advertise her as broken with their early access and all the yt showcase because if i pull for her i will brick my beloved Seele and I am a "Greedy" and "Stupid" human being

@@incognitobutnot 100 pulls is the average luck of a player for a character. You are right with a player with below average luck this plan doesn’t quite work out. But also players who win early can get a lot out of those jades they saved
